We love the Glazers here (even if our stadium leaks too!): Welcome to Tampa, home of Manchester United's unpopular owners - and where a local fanbase is besotted with their thriving sports team

At the Glazer Children's Museum in Tampa, they know all about their benefactors' ownership of Manchester United. 'Sometimes I open my emails and there will be a flood of messages which can be pretty critical, asking me to tell the Glazer family certain things,' explains Sarah Cole, the facility's president and chief executive.

Todd Bowles and Jason Licht React to Buccaneers' Contract Extensions

Todd Bowles and Jason Licht React to Buccaneers' Contract Extensions originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have locked down general manager Jason Licht and head coach Todd Bowles to multiyear extensions, as reported on Thursday. Advertisement The extensions are drawing mixed reviews from the fan base, as most are happy to see Licht extended, but some are questioning the logic behind Bowles' extension. The Bucs are on a successful five-year run under Licht and Bowles, with a Super Bowl win in 2020 and a division title in 2021 with Bowles as the defensive coordinator. Bowles took over the head coaching duties in 2022 and Tampa Bay has won the NFC South each year since, albeit in the what many consider to be the weakest division in football. Bowles' reaction was one of gratitude after the extension. "I am extremely appreciative of the confidence that the Glazer family has shown in my abilities to lead this football team. It is a responsibility I do not take lightly and am honored to have," Bowles said. "It starts at the top, and their unwavering commitment to our organization allows us to perform at our best and compete for championships. I am equally excited to continue working with Jason for years to come as we build on the success we've enjoyed and keep reaching for even bigger and better goals." Advertisement Two of those division titles under Bowles were with records of 9-8 and 8-9. And the defense, which Bowles still runs, has been heavily criticized as underperforming. That will hopefully change after another impressive draft by Licht this year, which focused on defensive talent. For Licht, it's been an amazing run since 2014, particularly in the second half of his tenure in Tampa Bay. He drafted players like Mike Evans, Tristan Wirfs, Vita Vea, Antoine Winfield Jr., Chris Godwin, Bucky Irving, Calijah Kancey, Cade Otton, Graham Barton, Luke Goedeke, Cody Mauch and more. Licht's response to the extension was also one of gratitude. "I am very grateful to the Glazer family for the trust and belief they have shown in what we are doing here," Licht said in a statement. "Their commitment to providing the resources along with their dedication to fostering a winning culture throughout our entire building are the primary reasons for the great success we have enjoyed these past five seasons. I am also very excited to continue working alongside Todd well into the future as we continue our mission of finding and developing talented players and chasing additional championships for our great fans." Bucs' Jason Licht Poised to 'Chasing Championships' After New Contract

Bucs' Jason Licht Poised to 'Chasing Championships' After New Contract originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers moved swiftly to lock down head coach Todd Bowles and general manager Jason Licht to new multi-year contracts. Advertisement In a show of good faith by Buccaneers ownership, Bowles and Licht will continue to work side by side as they look to bring another championship home. With a roster that right now is seen as one of the better ones, not only in the NFC but in football, the Buccaneers feel poised to make some serious noise in 2025. And as for the contract extension, Licht is looking forward to continuing to chase championships. 'I am very grateful to the Glazer Family for the trust and belief they have shown in what we are doing here,' Licht said in a statement. 'I am also very excited to continue working alongside Todd well into the future as we continue our mission of finding and developing talented players and chasing additional championships for our fans.' Advertisement Tampa Bay is again the favorite for the NFC South, with the Atlanta Falcons also gaining momentum, but the roster that Licht has helped put together is well-rounded and doesn't have too many weaknesses. The offense will be the driving force with Baker Mayfield enjoying a career resurgence that shows no signs of slowing down. Just like Licht's thirst for another Super Bowl title. Buccaneers extend coach Todd Bowles, GM Jason Licht

TAMPA, Fla. -- The Buccaneers signed general manager Jason Licht and coach Todd Bowles to multi-year contract extensions on Thursday. Bucs owner and co-chairman Joel Glazer said in the team's announcement the two have been critical to the team's recent success. "The winning culture they have established has us well positioned for the future,' Glazer said in a statement. 'The continuity and stability they provide will play a large role in our ability to compete for additional championships.' The team did not provide terms of the extensions. Bowles is coming off his third year as coach in which he led the Bucs to a fourth-straight NFC South title. He was promoted in 2022 after Bruce Arians stepped down following the Buccaneers' Super Bowl LV victory. Bowles had previously served as the team's defensive coordinator for three seasons. His 27 regular-season victories are the franchise's second-best total through three seasons behind Arians. 'I am excited to continue working with Jason for years to come as we build on the success we've enjoyed and keep reaching for even bigger and better goals. My family loves Tampa and we're looking forward to delivering more great moments for our fans in the coming seasons,' Bowles said in a statement. 'I also appreciate the confidence that the Glazer Family has shown in my abilities to lead this football team. It is a responsibility I do not take lightly and am honored to have.' Licht is the fifth longest-tenured general manager in the league as he enters his 12th season. Along with drafting and re-signing key players in Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Tristan Wirfs, Vita Vea and Antoine Winfield Jr., Licht played a significant role in the acquisition of Tom Brady. 'I am very grateful to the Glazer Family for the trust and belief they have shown in what we are doing here,' Licht said in a statement released by the team. 'I am also very excited to continue working alongside Todd well into the future as we continue our mission of finding and developing talented players and chasing additional championships for our fans.'
