Camogie Championship Round 5: All you need to know

SATURDAY Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Senior Championship Group 1 Wexford v Cork, Chadwicks Wexford Park, 2pm Tipperary v Clare, FBD Semple Stadium, 3pm Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Senior Championship Group 2 Galway v Waterford, Kenny Park, 1pm Dublin v Derry, Parnell Park, 2pm ONLINE Score updates and match reports available on RTÉ Sport Online and RTÉ News app. Galway v Waterford live on Camogie Association YouTube channel. RADIO Score updates on RTÉ Radio 1's Saturday Sport. WEATHER Saturday will start out cloudy with scattered rain. It'll become drier and brighter in the west and north during the afternoon and evening with sunny spells developing. However, cloudy, damp and humid conditions will linger further south and east through much of the day. Maximum temperatures ranging from 17-23C in light to moderate southwest to west winds. Group 1 Wexford v Cork Wexford's campaign has been very disappointing, especially given their initial aim of at least securing the third knockout spot in this group. Their hopes were dashed by losses to Clare and Limerick, consigning them to a relegation play-off against either Dublin or Derry. In stark contrast, reigning champions Cork have enjoyed a seamless journey, maintaining a flawless record without facing significant challenges. They've effectively utilised a diverse squad, and a victory here will solidify their position as group winners, guaranteeing direct progression to the semi-finals. Tipperary v Clare Both Tipperary and Clare have already secured their places in the quarter-finals. The only scenario in which Clare wouldn't directly qualify is an improbable 58-point defeat, which would force a play-off with Limerick. While unlikely, Tipperary has shown excellent resilience, bouncing back from an opening-round thrashing by Cork with two comfortable victories over Wexford and Limerick. Clare followed their win against Wexford with a draw against Limerick. The outcome of this match will determine which team secures the second-place seeding, offering a more favourable draw against the third-placed team from Group 2. Group 2 Galway v Waterford Both Galway and Waterford have already qualified. The winner of this match will earn a coveted direct berth in the semi-finals (barring an improbable, catastrophic defeat), while the loser will still likely be favoured to advance from the quarter-finals. The terms "winner" and "loser" here refer to seeding, as a draw would be sufficient for Waterford to claim the top spot due to their significantly superior score differential. Nevertheless, this remains an intriguing contest. Topping the group is a significant incentive, but perhaps even more importantly, both teams will welcome this challenging test at this stage of the season before the stakes become even higher. Waterford has experienced a resurgence since Mick Boland took over as manager after the league, replacing Jerry Wallace. They've since secured a spot in the upcoming Munster final and achieved a perfect three wins from three in the All-Ireland Championship. Their defence appears more robust, and their scoring has been prolific. According to Cathal Murray, Galway displayed their best half-hour of hurling this season in the second half of their match against Kilkenny last Saturday. Both teams appear to be peaking at the right time. Dublin v Derry This match is a direct battle for maintaining senior status. A draw will be enough for Dublin, as despite being pointless after three games, like their opponents, they have shown competitiveness, particularly against Kilkenny and Galway. Derry has struggled significantly after losing two-thirds of the team that impressed in their senior debut last year, a challenge that has proven too great to overcome. They now face Wexford in the relegation final.

All-Ireland camogie championship: All you need to know

SATURDAY Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Senior Championship Group 1 Cork v Clare, SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh, 2pm Limerick v Tipperary, Cappamore GAA, 1pm Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Senior Championship Group 2 Kilkenny v Galway, UPMC Nowlan Park, 4pm Waterford v Dublin, Walsh Park, 3pm ONLINE You'll find score updates and match reports on RTÉ Sport Online and RTÉ News app. Kilkennyv Galway is live on Camogie Association YouTube channel. RADIO Score updates on RTÉ Radio 1's Saturday Sport. WEATHER Saturday: While warm sunshine is expected, a scattering of showers will occur too, some heavy and possibly thundery. Top temperatures of 19 to 25 degrees, warmest across the eastern half of the country, all in a light to moderate southwest wind. For more, visit GROUP 1 Cork v Clare Clare are clearly benefiting from John Carmody's decision last season to blood a number of young players. They have reached a Very League Division 1B final this year and are in contention for qualification to the knockout stages of the All-Ireland Championship. They are not expected to beat champions Cork in the Páirc, which isn't to say they can't, but every score will count in their battle for a place in the last six. At present, the Banner lie in second in the table on a vastly superior score difference to Limerick, who they drew with. Limerick have already played Cork, however. As a result, Clare have 32 points in hand on their neighbours, so a competitive outing will put them on the brink of progression. Limerick v Tipperary Limerick are under a little more pressure than Clare in terms of making the quarter-finals due to their vastly inferior score difference. Cork beat them by 38 points in their first round and it said a lot for what Joe Quaid has begun to build that they bounced back to beat Wexford and then draw with Clare, thanks to a late equaliser by their totem, Caoimhe Costelloe. The level of that first round defeat leaves them with a steep mountain to climb but if they can account for Tipperary, who are a point back in fourth with one game less played, they will be through. It would count as a shock, given the level both teams have been operating at for most of the past decade or so and especially for the past five years. Victory would also put Tipp through, having beaten Wexford by 32 points after losing to Cork by 18. GROUP 2 Kilkenny v Galway Group 2 looks far more straightforward than Group 1, with three teams level at the top on six points. This game pitches second against third on score difference, but this is Kilkenny's last game and they have already lost to Waterford, while Galway possess a 100% record. If Waterford beat Dublin in the other game, these two will be assured of qualification but this result will be significant with direct progression to the semi-final, or seeding in the quarter-finals at stake. Waterford v Dublin Dublin's mission is straightforward. Anything other than victory and last year's All-Ireland semi-finalists will not emerge from what was a very difficult group. They lost by six points to Galway and five to Kilkenny, so have been very competitive but now take on a Waterford side that opened their campaign with a seven-point victory over the Cats and followed up with a facile home triumph over Derry. With Galway still on the Déise's set list, they will want to make sure of qualification this weekend.

Camogie Championship Round 3: All you need to know

SATURDAY Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Senior Championship Group 1 Clare v Limerick, Zimmer Biomet Páirc Chíosóg, 2pm Wexford v Tipperary, Chadwicks Wexford, 4pm Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Senior Championship Group 2 Dublin v Kilkenny, Parnell Park, 2pm Waterford v Derry, Walsh Park, 4pm ONLINE You'll find score updates and match reports on RTÉ Sport Online and RTÉ News app. Dublin v Kilkenny live on Camogie Association YouTube channel. RADIO Score updates on RTÉ Radio 1's Saturday Sport. WEATHER Saturday: After a wet start to the day, cloud and rain will gradually clear eastwards leaving a mix of showers and sunny spells for Saturday. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees in moderate to fresh and occasionally strong northwest winds. for more go to Group 1 Clare v Limerick Billed in some quarters as a preliminary quarter-final, and while that may be a tad premature, with both teams having beaten Wexford, the winner of the Shannon derby will have a foot and a half in the knockout stages. Clare prevailed by nine points at this venue in the League and are coming into this off a bye after accounting for the Yellowbellies in their opener, while Limerick are playing their third game in a fortnight, having recovered from a 38-point loss to Cork by edging out the Model County. Wexford v Tipperary Tipperary need to get a win on the board after failing to land any sort of blow on Cork in their first game last weekend, having had a bye in the opening round. Wexford are 0 for 2 and given those games were against Clare and Limerick, the counties they would have been perceived to be rivalling for the third knockout berth from this group, they are up against it and must win this to have any chance of advancing. Defeat and they will almost certainly booked for a relegation play-off. Group 2 Dublin v Kilkenny This is a repeat of last year's All-Ireland quarter-final, in which Dublin surprised many by taking down Kilkenny. With the Stripeywomen losing to Waterford on home territory last week, they might be feeling a little bit vulnerable and Dublin will surely smell some blood in the water at Parnell Park. Tommy Shefflin and co will undoubtedly have learned a lot more from the reverse than the facile victory over Derry but with Dublin having had a week off after getting to within six points of Galway and with last year's Croke Park result in mind, this feels like it could go right to the wire. Waterford v Derry These two teams are enjoying very different fortunes at present, with Waterford impressive winners over Kilkenny at UPMC Nowlan Park on their belated competition start last Saturday and Derry, down two-thirds of the team that consolidated senior status last season, on a score difference of -58 points from two outings against Kilkenny and Galway.
