NEW DELHI: Spiritual leader and Isha Foundation founder Sadhguru was conferred the 'Global Indian of the Year' award by the Canada India Foundation (CIF). The award recognised his contributions to raising human consciousness and promoting ecological sustainability through the Conscious Planet movement. The event was attended by Indo-Canadian leaders, entrepreneurs, and members of the community. CIF Chair Ritesh Malik and National Convenor Sunita Vyas presented the award. Sadhguru dedicated the prize to the ' Calling' initiative, which aims to revitalise the Cauvery River and improve the livelihoods of millions of people in the region. The project supports large-scale tree planting efforts in the river basin. The award had been initially announced in October 2024.
