Another targeted killing, double murder witness shot dead in Najafgarh

New Delhi: In yet another targeted killing in the capital's ongoing gang war, unidentified gunmen shot dead their rival in southwest Delhi's Najafgarh on Friday evening. The victim was a witness in a case of double murder reported last year. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The attack is suspected to be the work of the Gogi gang. Earlier this week, gangster Kapil Sangwan's shooters murdered the nephew of rival Manjeet Mahal. The target's daughter was also shot at in the melee. In Friday's incident, police received a PCR call around 7.20pm and rushed to the spot. The victim, later identified as Neeraj, a resident of Nangli Shakrawati, was sitting in his car when he was ambushed by two-three bike-borne assailants around 7.15pm in Najafgarh. Police said the attackers fired multiple rounds at Neeraj, killing him on the spot. The killing is being seen as a move to silence witnesses and derail the investigation in the double murder case. Police suspect gangster Harsh Dhankad alias Chintu, recently deported from the Maldives, and absconding gangster Sanju Dahiya, currently believed to be abroad, may have orchestrated the killing. Both are considered close aides of slain gangster Jitender Gogi and are thought to be reviving the gang's operations. The assailants fled the scene after the shooting. Police launched a search operation and are scanning CCTV footage from the area to identify them. Neeraj, wanted in a 2021 murder case, was on the run as police had declared a reward of Rs 1 lakh on him. He was affiliated with the Tillu Tajpuria gang, an arch rival of the Gogi faction, and also worked for the Kaushal Chaudhary gang. Sources said that Neeraj was a crucial witness in a high-profile Feb 2024 double murder case, in which two men were shot in the head from point-blank range inside a salon in Najafgarh. The victims were identified as Sonu (34) and Ashish (21), small-time bookies who had rental businesses. Ashish had a criminal record, police said. Neeraj, who was a friend of the duo, had escaped by hiding in a room when the gunmen appeared.

Jailed Tillu Gang Member To Marry During 5-Hour Parole In Delhi Today

Gangster Amit alias Dabang, a key member of the Tillu Tajpuriya gang who is lodged in Tihar Jail, will be out on a five-hour parole for his wedding on Friday. The wedding is scheduled to take place at Tajpur village in Narela - stronghold of Tillu Tajpuriya gang - and is expected to be attended by top gangsters. According to sources, Amit will be escorted directly to the wedding venue by a team of security personnel. To avoid any untoward incident, a huge contingent of police force has also been deployed in the village, the sources added. Sunil Balyan, who was known as Tillu Tajpuriya, was beaten to death allegedly by members of the rival Gogi gang inside Tihar Jail in 2023. He headed the infamous Tillu gang for over a decade, before Amit took over the reigns. Amit was arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell in a MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) case in 2020. The police had announced a reward of Rs 2 lakh on information leading to his arrest. He is lodged in jail no. 3 at Tihar. Amit has been accused of orchestrating the murder of a member of the Gogi gang - known as the Alipore murder case - to avenge the killing of Sunil. He has also been accused of killing Gogi's close aide Monu Nepali near Rohini court in 2018. Amit's brother Mohit, alias Bunty, was also associated with the Tillu Tajpuriya. After Tillu Tajpuriya's murder, Mohit allegedly died by suicide, further strengthening Amit's position in the gang. Amit has several cases of murder, extortion and under provisions of the Arms Act against him.

Delhi HC grants interim bail to Jitender Gogi's co-accused on grounds of wife's surgery

New Delhi [India], June 27 (ANI): The Delhi High Court has granted 15 days interim bail to Prince alias Sandeep, who is a co-accused with Jitender Gogi and others in a murder case of Kunal Mann of rival Tillu Tajpuria's gang. Kunal Mann was shot dead on February 10, 2021, allegedly by Deepak alias Boxer, Mohit and Chhota Boxer, for the revenge of the murder of Kulbeer alias Mathur. An FIR was registered at Police Station Ali Pur. Prince was arrested on February 12, 2021. He was charged with Jitender alias Gogi, who was lodged in jail at the time. Gogi was shot dead by the Tillu gang in Rohini court in September 2021. Subsequently, Tillu Tajpuria was murdered in Tihar Jail in May 2023 by the Gogi gang. Justice Manoj Jain granted 15 days' interim bail to Prince alias Sandeep alias Mota on the grounds of the surgery of his wife. 'The application is allowed and interim bail is granted to the petitioner/applicant for 15 days to be reckoned from the date of his release on his furnishing personal bond and surety bond for Rs 50,000 each to the satisfaction of the learned Trial Court/ learned Duty MM,' Justice Manoj Jain ordered on June 25. The accused had moved an application seeking an interim bail of 45 days. Advocate CM Sangwan appeared for the accused and submitted that his wife has to undergo spinal surgery and there is no one else in the family to take care of her. On the other hand, the Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) opposed the bail plea by submitting that the petitioner is a co-accused of Deepak alias Boxer in a murder case. While granting interim bail, the High Court observed, 'As per status report, there is no other male member in the family and besides the petitioner and his wife, he has two minor children and one aged grandmother.' 'Undoubtedly, the allegations against the accused are serious in nature, but keeping in mind the fact that there is no other male member in the family and the wife of the petitioner has to undergo spinal surgery, the case for interim bail is made out,' the bench said in the order.
