SJ Suryah returns to direction with ‘Killer', first look unveiled
SJ Suryah is set to return to the director's chair with Killer, a new action film in which he also plays the lead. The project marks his first directorial venture in several years and is being produced on a large scale by Angel Studios in association with Sree Gokulam Movies. The first look poster of Killer was unveiled on Saturday, featuring Suryah in a stylised appearance. The film also stars Preethi Asrani, known for her performance in Ayothi, as the female lead. Rahman. Following latest news of his collaboration with fellow Oscar-winner, Hans Zimmer, for Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming Ramayana, Rahman's collaboration adds significant weight to the project, which is being positioned as a high-budget, pan-India release. SJ Suryah, who is writing and directing the film in addition to playing the lead, described Killer as a 'James Bond-style' action entertainer with romantic elements reminiscent of his earlier hit Kushi. The film will be released in five languages — Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. Production on Killer is currently underway, with further casting and release details expected soon. According to the makers, the story, screenplay, and dialogues are all handled by Suryah himself.

SJ Suryah to make comeback as director with 'Killer'
Actor SJ Suryah is set to make his directorial comeback after 10 years with the film Killer. The actor's last directed the Tamil movie Isai in 2015. In a post on the social media platform X, SJ Suryah announced his return to direction by sharing the details of his next project. It will be produced by Malayalam production house Sree Gokulam Movies and Suryah's Angel Studios. The director called Killer his "dream project" and expressed his gratitude to Gokulam Gopalan (owner of Gokulam Movies) for collaborating with him on this movie. It may be recalled that S J Suryah first made his mark in the film industry as a director before going on to become an actor. His films such as Valee, with in the lead, and Kushi, with in the lead, had gone on to emerge as superhits. Sources in the industry claim that Killer, the story of which S J Suryah penned during the lockdown, will revolve around a hitman. They also claim that while a major portion of the film is to be shot in the country, some parts of it are to be shot in Mexico. Killer, which is to be made in five languages, will seek to be a pan-Indian film and try to appeal to audiences across the country.
