Paul's wins over Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, and Anderson Silva got the YouTuber-turned-boxer a lot of attention. In 2023, Paul stepped up in competition, skill, and size to face Tommy Fury. The result of that fight was Paul's first and only pro loss, dropping a split decision to Fury. Paul followed that loss by getting back in the ring with a former UFC fighter in Nate Diaz. Paul won that bout by split decision. Since beating Diaz, Paul is 4-0 with wins over Andre August, Ryan Bourland, Mike Perry, and most recently, Mike Tyson. More press conference as promoter Oscar De La Hoya looks on ahead of the fight between Jake Paul and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr at The Avalon on May 14, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Cris Esqueda/) Gilberto Ramirez (47-1 with 30 knockouts) opened his professional boxing career on a 44-0 run, going undefeated between 2009 and May 2022. He held the WBO super middleweight title between April 2016 and December 2018, defending the belt five times before moving up to light heavyweight in 2019. Ramirez won his first five fights at light heavyweight by knockout, earning him a shot at Dmitry Bivol and his WBA light heavyweight belt. Bivol bested Ramirez in that 2022 contest, winning via unanimous decision. Ramirez bounced back from that loss with three unanimous decision wins. In the seconds of those contests he bested Arsen Goulamirian for the WBA cruiserweight title, In his most recent outing he defeated Chris Billam-Smith to add the WBO cruiserweight belt to his collection. Yuniel Dorticos (27-2 with 25 KOs) also turned pro in 2009. He too began his career with an impressive unbeaten streak, going 22-0 between his debut and February 2018. During that run, Dorticos won the vacant WBO interim cruiserweight belt in 2016 with a TKO of Youri Kayembre. Later elevated to full champion status Dorticos defended that belt with a KO of Dmitry Kudryashov. He surrendered that title to Murat Gassiev in his next outing, losing by TKO in the 12th round. Dorticos later won the IBF cruiserweight belt, beating Andrew Tabiti for the vacant strap in 2019. He lost the title in his first defense, dropping a majority decision to Mairis Briedis in 2020. Since losing the IBF strap, Dorticos is 3-0 with three knockouts, most recently stopping Alan Campa in the first round of their June 2024 scrap. ESPN has Ramirez ranked as the No. 2 cruiserweight behind IBF champion Jai Opetaia. Dorticos is the No.1 ranked cruiserweight according to the WBA. The WBO has him at No. 9. We will have more on the Paul vs. Chavez fight and the upcoming fight card as fight night nears.

Jake Paul Vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Full Card Is Sneaky Good

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - MAY 14: Jake Paul, left, gestures towards Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Mexico's ... More former world champion, during a boxing news conference at the Avalon Hollywood Theatre in Los Angeles on May 14, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by)Nakisa Bidarian, CEO and Co-Founder of Most Valuable Promotions, center left, and Oscar De La Hoya, of Golden Boy Promotions, center right, look on. Jake Paul will take on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on June 28 in Anaheim. That is obviously the headliner of the event, but boxing fans shouldn't sleep on the card as a whole. While some boxing purists may still be boycotting the Problem Child—though the numbers suggest they're only claiming not to watch—the fights MVP Promotions has put together form a strong night of action on paper. In case you're not aware, here's the entire card set to be streamed on DAZN on June 28 beginning at 8 p.m. ET. Here are the details. Jake Paul vs. Julio César Chávez Jr. Full Fight Card The event is a pay-per-view that costs $59.99 on DAZN. I won't spend a bunch of time talking about Paul-Chavez Jr. If you need someone to explain to you why it's worth watching, you've probably already decided you're not interested. So, it would probably be a waste of text. Basically, it's a fight between one of the most popular human beings on Earth and a polarizing second-generation fighter who is a former world champion. But he's also known as much for being a disappointment in the ring as he is for reaching the pinnacle of the sport. With Paul moving closer to fighting an actual active boxer, there's a slight bit more of a competitive interest in this one than in most of his previous bouts. RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA - FEBRUARY 17: Floyd Schofield speaks with Steve Bunce during the Media Day ... More ahead of the Riyadh Season event on February 17, 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. (Photo by Mark Robinson/) As for the undercard, things get really interesting once we get to the Schofield-Farmer fight. Schofield is a talented and undefeated 22-year-old lightweight from New Jersey. He and his father, Floyd Sr., have become one of the more outspoken father-son combinations in the sport. Schofield was supposed to fight Shakur Stevenson for the WBC title earlier this year, but he fell ill and pulled out during fight week. Farmer is a highly skilled veteran and former super featherweight champion. However, he is on a three-fight losing streak following back-to-back controversial losses to William Zepeda (Stevenson's next opponent) and a more clear-cut loss to Ray Muratalla via unanimous decision in July 2024. Farmer will be the biggest test of Schofield's career, but not quite on the level of Stevenson. We'll see if he can use this fight as a stepping stone to that kind of opportunity. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - MAY 14: Gilberto Ramirez aka Zurdo Ramirez, left, faces off against Yuniel ... More Dorticos, right, as Oscar De La Hoya, center, of Golden Boy Productions looks on during a boxing news conference at the Avalon Hollywood Theatre in Los Angeles on May 14, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by) Ramirez-Dorticos is such an underrated fight. After all, Ramirez is one of the most underrated fighters of this generation. The reigning WBO cruiserweight champion is 47-1 with 30 KOs. His only loss came to Dmitry Bivol in November 2022. Ramirez is coming off a lopsided win over Chris Billam-Smith in November 2024, and he's looking to add the WBA title to his mantle. Dorticos is a dangerous, power-punching Cuban with 27 wins, 1 loss, and 25 of his victories have come by KO. It should be an interesting clash, and the card is providing Ramirez an opportunity to be appreciated by a larger viewing audience. That's the co-main event, but right before Ramirez and Dorticos clash, we'll see former UFC women's bantamweight champion and world champion boxer Holly Holm return to the ring. It's been 12 years since Holm boxed, as she went to the UFC where she pulled off arguably the biggest upset win in MMA history when she knocked out Ronda Rousey in November 2015. LOS ANGELES, UNITED STATES - MAY 14: Holly Holm (L) faces off against Yolanda Vega during the Los ... More Angeles press conference for the Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. fight, hosted by DAZN at the Avalon West Hollywood on May 14, 2025 in United States. (Photo by Jon Putman/Anadolu via Getty Images) In Holm's in-ring boxing return, she will face Yolanda Vega. While not widely known, Vega is 10-0 with 1 KO. At 30, she is 13 years younger than the 43-year-old Holm and represents the right kind of challenge for the combat sports icon at this stage of her career. If Holm wins, don't rule out a potential championship fight against WBA champion Stephanie Han, who MVP just signed to a promotional deal. As you can see, there are a lot of layers here and multiple reasons to watch this event. The $60 price tag might still be a little steep, though.

Who is Floyd Schofield? Record, stats and next fight as Jake Paul vs Chavez Jr undercard looms

Floyd Schofield will return to the ring on 28 June at the Honda Centre in Anaheim, on the Jake Paul vs Julio Cesar Jr Chavez Jr undercard, to take on Tevin Farmer. This is the 22-year-old's first fight since he was forced to withdraw from his world-title shot against Shakur Stevenson, scheduled for February. Schofield arrived in Saudi Arabia a few days out from the fight and was hospitalised with an undisclosed illness, which forced his withdrawal. Taking on Farmer will be no easy comeback for Schofield, as the former IBF super-featherweight champion has been active against world-class opponents, including two fights against William Zepeda. Here is everything you need to know about Schofield ahead of his ring return this weekend. Who is Floyd Schofield? Nationality: United States Age: 22 Height: 5' 7' Schofield was born in Jersey City, but shortly thereafter moved to Austin, Texas, with his father. They were hit with hard times, suffering bouts of homelessness and being forced to beg for money. Floyd started boxing when he was eight years old and said that 'Sugar' Ray Robinson was his idol growing up. As an amateur, he won multiple national titles and built a record of 40-17 before turning professional in 2020, when he was just 18. Schofield campaigns at lightweight under Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions and has ambitions of becoming the youngest active world champion in boxing, a title currently held by Brian Norman Jr, who is 24. Watch over 185 fights a year from the world's best promoters with a DAZN subscription. More information here. What is Floyd Schofield's record? Schofield made his pro debut in late 2020 and dispatched Richard Esquibel in the first round. 2021 was the most active year of Schofield's career so far, as he raced to build an impressive 8-0 record, knocking out all but two of his opponents. The young Jersey-born fighter's potential was clear, and he graduated to taking on more-experienced opponents with winning records in 2022. He claimed the American Boxing Federation Intercontinental lightweight title by knocking out Julio Sanchez and defended it once, stopping Juan Antonio Lopez. Schofield continued to improve and began taking on 10-round fights against fringe world-level contenders, with his biggest wins coming against Daniel Rosas, who challenged for the WBO interim bantamweight belt, Alberto Mercado, whom he beat for the WBA International title, and Haskell Rhodes. The young American had the chance to show himself not just as an untested prospect, but a serious challenger on the world stage when he took on Rene Tellez Giron in November last year. On paper, it should have been a relatively easy night for Schofield. It was not until the 11th round that Giron landed a left hook that dropped a tiring Schofield. The young fighter managed to get to his feet, however, and went toe-to-toe with the Mexican brawler to seal a wide decision victory. When is Floyd Schofield's next fight? Schofield will return to the ring this weekend to take on former IBF super-featherweight champion Tevin Farmer, to put himself back into world-title contention at 135lb.

Jake Paul On Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Fight "Five years ago, I stepped into the ring for my pro debut after a single amateur fight, and every fight since has been a step towards becoming world champion. I just defeated the baddest man on the planet, and now I'm going against a former champion who conman Canelo couldn't finish," Jake Paul told ESPN. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on Jake Paul Fight "First of all, I will show what I can do now that everything is in the right place in my life - mentally and physically," Chavez said in a statement. "I feel rejuvenated and 10 years younger. Second, I want to thank MVP for taking the risk of fighting me. Unfortunately for their Problem Child, they're going to have a big problem this June-one they won't know how to resolve. Hopefully, when I beat him, people won't underestimate this win."
