Good Morning Britain viewers demand apology from Kate Garraway after 'rude' snub directed at 'unimpressed' ITV co-star
Good Morning Britain viewers have demanded an apology from Kate Garraway after a 'rude' snub directed at her ITV co-star. Friday's instalment of the daily news programme saw Kate, 58, present with co-host Robert Rinder, 47. As the pair covered the top stories of the day, Kate introduced reporter Gargy Patel who was broadcasting live from Westminster. However, the presenter made the mistake of accidentally calling Gargy the wrong name, and instead referred to her as her colleague Ranvir Singh at the end of the segment. She said: 'Ranvir, thank you very much indeed.' The blunder didn't appear to be noticed by those in the ITV set but viewers were quick to point it out on social media. One penned on X: 'Oops! Kate just called Gargy Patel, Ranvir by mistake.' Another added: 'Kate called her 'Ranvir' hmm she was not impressed. Apologise.' While someone else commented: '@GMB did Kate just call that reporter Ranvir on a purpose... Was she being rude?????' It comes after viewers were left 'wincing' as Kate Garraway made a 'disrespectful and insensitive' joke at the worst possible time. A previous episode of the ITV breakfast news show saw the presenter with co-host Adil Ray, 51, report a particularly sad story to viewers. It was about British grandmother Yvonne Ford, 59, from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, who sadly died from rabies this week. Kate explained: 'Did you see this extraordinary story about a woman, she was scratched very slightly by a stray dog whilst on holiday in February, that long ago, in Morocco. 'It wasn't even a particularly bad one at the time. It didn't seem to be infected. Then two weeks ago, she started to feel very unwell, has now passed away.' Before making an ill-timed quip, she added: 'It's made people very conscious because rabies is something we don't think about very much. It is astonishing.' It came as she mentioned TV doctor Hilary Jones, 72, who often appears on the show for health and wellbeing segments. A previous episode of the ITV breakfast news show saw the presenter (pictured), with co-host Adil Ray, 51, report a particularly sad story to viewers She said: 'I mean, what the doctors say, if I can do my Dr Hilary at the moment for a bit, is make sure you get an inoculation. 'But also, if you have any kind of scratch from any kind of wild animal or animal abroad, get treatments right away, because then it can be stopped.' Rabies - which is passed on through injuries such as bites and scratches from an infected animal - is nearly always fatal. It typically takes between three to 12 weeks for symptoms to show but can also take longer in some cases. Viewers picked up on Kate's jokey reference to pretending to be Dr Hilary and felt the tone was not tasteful given the nature of the story. One wrote on X: 'Classy Kate cracking a rabies joke just after reporting on a rabies death.' Someone replied: 'Noticed that too - made me wince. So insensitive.'

Good Morning Britain slapped with 318 Ofcom complaints over detail in Israeli war report
Good Morning Britain has been slapped with 318 Ofcom complaints after viewers took issue with an ITV war report. The complaints came after a map was broadcast on June 19 during coverage of the Israel conflict that depicted the Golan Heights as part of Israel. The Golan Heights is a rocky plateau located between Syria, Israel, Jordan and Lebanon, and is widely seen as part of southwest Syria. In 1967, Israel's military occupied roughly two-thirds of the region during its so-called Six-Day War with several Arab States, including Syria. In 1981, Israel went on to effectively annex this part of the Golan Heights and last year seized the whole region after the fall of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The UK Government recognises the Golan Heights as occupied territory. GMB was flooded with complaints after the map showing the territory as part of Israel was flashed on screen during a live report from Tel Aviv by Richard Gaisford. Another ITV reporter was forced to provide a clarification for the use of the map on air Some viewers noticed the map and took to social media to share their thoughts. One penned on X: 'The Golan Heights is part of Syria, but #GMB continues to show it as part of Israel.' Another added: 'Disgusting 'reporting' and total misinterpretation of Golan Heights.' The next day, reporter Sean Fletcher gave a 'clarification' of the map. He said: 'Yesterday we showed a graphic map which included the Golan Heights as part of Israel. 'The UK government views the Golan Heights as occupied territory and does not recognise Israel's annexation of the land, and we are happy to clarify that.' It comes after Good Morning Britain viewers shared a lot of complaints as Martin Lewis replaced Richard Madeley this week. Typically, the ITV news programme features Susanna Reid and Richard as presenters, but on Wednesday's instalment, the consumer guru stepped up to host. Susanna and Martin worked their way through the day's top stories but some watchers weren't best pleased about the shake-up. Many took to social media to share their thoughts on Martin co-hosting the show and one penned on X: 'Ruins my morning having to listen to Martin - time for Eamonn I think.' 'Martin Lewis with his shouty "do this" "do that" and jumping over furniture so early in the morning may just be too much for me,' another added. Someone else said: 'I just don't have the head for Martin Lewis at this time of the morning.' Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 from 6am and is available to stream on ITVX.

Lorraine Kelly leaves fans stunned as she reveals her hair is FAKE live on show - and showcases what her natural tresses really look like
Lorraine Kelly left fans stunned as she revealed her hair is FAKE during Thursday's instalment of her ITV show. The 65 year old returned to our screens to present her programme Lorraine and discussed a number of newsworthy topics with guests. One guest appeared on the show to receive a hair transformation from hairdresser Richard Ward, after suffering from thinning hair. Right at the end of the episode, Lorraine caught up with her to see her brand new look and she was over the moon with the new length. So the Scottish host decided to make a confession, as she pulled out some clip-in extensions, Lorraine said: 'Can I just say, every morning when I'm on the telly, I have these wee things...' The star then pulled out the extensions and shouted: 'Ta-da!' as she waved them around in the air. Lorraine asked: 'Aren't they great?! I don't do it for real life, but I do it for telly! 'Helen puts them in in the morning. 'It can double as a beard!' She added: 'Isn't it fantastic?! It just gives you a little bit more...' Back in 2023 Lorraine hit back at a troll who made a nasty comment about her hair, telling her she was the one who 'needed a makeover'. Lorraine replied: 'Well good morning Cathy - only problem - when I have short hair I look like Wilson from Castaway (if you know you know).' The star shot to fame in the 80s and has become a huge TV favourite. Over the years she's presented the likes of Good Morning Britain, GMTV, This Morning and Daybreak. Lorraine pictured in 2000 presenting GMTV with a much shorter and darker hair look And the journalist has no intention of slowing down. Speaking with Woman & Home, she said: 'I don't feel my age. 'I certainly don't act my age!' She added: 'I love the way Helen Mirren says to embrace everything and enjoy every single second of what you're doing. 'She said, 'I'm not growing old, I'm growing up.' 'But I've got no intention of growing up, thank you very much!' It comes after Boy George sent a defiant message to JK Rowling during Wednesday's episode of Lorraine - swiping 'I bet she's watching now' after their vicious trans row. The 64-year-old, real name George Alan O'Dowd, took to the studio to chat to host Lorraine Kelly, 65, about his upcoming new music. During the chat Lorraine told him: 'You've always stood up for people who sometimes don't have a voice for themselves... People in the trans community, it's been very rough for them and you've said "No it's not fair".' The singer explained: 'It's real life stuff, not two celebrities bickering on the internet,' making reference to his spats with the Harry Potter author, who has come under fire about her views on trans people. Speaking about their arguments, Boy George said: 'I think it's hilarious that you're having a row with someone that I've never met. I probably never will meet. 'I feel like in the movies she creates this beautiful magic world, in real life she's a muggle. It's very disappointing it's not true.' On Tuesday Sydnie Christmas and Lorraine were left in hysterics as a Dalmatian puppy clambered on top of the singer during the ITV show.
