BREAKING NEWS Third person charged after alleged murder of Pheobe Bishop
A third person has been arrested and charged following the alleged murder of Bundaberg teenager Pheobe Bishop. The 30-year-old man had been charged with two counts of accessory after the fact to murder, one count of failure to appear in accordance with undertaking and one breach of bail condition. He will face Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Wednesday. Pheobe, 17, went missing near Bundaberg Airport about 8.30am on May 15, after booking a trip to WA to visit her boyfriend. On June 6, police discovered the Gin Gin teenager's remains near Goodnight Scrub National Park. Her former housemates, 33-year-old Tanika Bromley and 34-year-old James Wood, were charged with her murder and are being held in jail on remand while they await their next court appearance. Heart-wrenching moment mourner chases after the hearse at Pheobe Bishop's funeral - as devastated loved ones bid farewell to the murdered teen
A large crowd has turned out for murdered teenager Pheobe Bishop's funeral, with one mourner seen chasing after the hearse as other attendees tried to hold her back. Pheobe, 17, went missing near Bundaberg Airport about 8.30am on May 15, after booking a trip to WA to visit her boyfriend. Earlier this month, police discovered Pheobe's remains near Goodnight Scrub National Park. Her former housemates, 33-year-old Tanika Bromley and 34-year-old James Wood, were charged with her murder and are being held in jail on remand while they await their next court appearance. Neither have entered pleas. At 2pm on a rainy day in Bundaberg, Pheobe's family, including mum Kylie Johnson and sister Kaylea Bishop, gave the teen a send-off before a private cremation at the Springfields Crematorium. Ms Johnson was seen outside the service in a pink dress with her arm around another mourner and, at one point, reached out to touch the white hearse as it drove Pheobe from the funeral. In a particularly emotional moment, another younger mourner was seen running after the hearse as a young man held her back. Pheobe's funeral notice described her as the 'beloved daughter of Kylie and Ray, Kevin and Stacey. Dearly loved sister of Jamie, Jesse, Kaylea, Ruby-Leigh, Aybel and sister-in-law to Janay. Loving aunty to Tallullah. Much loved niece, cousin and friend to many'. Ms Johnson said she was 'devastated' to farewell her daughter. 'This is absolutely everybody's worst nightmare, however, we promised to get Phee home and give her a send-off that Phee would approve of and that's what will happen,' she said in a statement. Meanwhile, Pheobe's maternal auntie Caz Johnson took to social media on Monday to point out that she had not been invited to the funeral. 'It was nice to say goodbye to Pheobe my own way, since I was asked, please don't go to the funeral to keep the peace,' Caz said. 'It makes my blood boil that people from South Windsor (are) driving up to attend Pheobe's funeral when they couldn't be there to help her when she needed it.' Caz and Pheobe's mother have frequently butted heads in public since the teen's disappearance in May. It began when Caz went on Network Ten's The Project to share disturbing texts from the teen sent before she went missing, and make allegations about her tumultuous upbringing. She revealed Pheobe sent text messages out of the blue on April 26 to say her mother had told her to 'get out', but didn't want to talk about the matter as it was 'a long story'. 'Up s*** creek but s*** happens,' Pheobe wrote, in texts shown on Ten. 'I'm flying the f*** out of here to see my boyfriend. 'If it goes to plan I'm not coming back. I can't do s*** anymore. I need to get out of this hell hole.' Caz Johnson also said that Pheobe had an unsettled childhood, regularly changing schools and having to deal with new stepdads coming in and out of her life. But Pheobe's mother reacted immediately on social media after The Project segment aired, saying her sister knew 'nothing' about her daughter. Caz Johnson 'hasn't spoken to my children or myself for the last 13-14 years', she wrote. 'She knows nothing about Pheobe and who she was as a person.' The pair later clashed earlier this month over whether or not Pheobe had a disability. 'Pheobe had no disabilities but (was) a child who was out of control that had no parent figure who paid an (alleged) killer to look after her,' Caz wrote in one scathing post. 'Please refrain from referencing my daughter as your family, she may be blood related however you know nothing about her,' Ms Johnson replied. 'You state Phee Phee had no disability? Where is your evidence? Where are your Professional reports or better yet your qualifications to state that she didn't have a disability? Oh wait you wouldn't know because you didn't know her!' Before she disappeared, Pheobe made reference on social media to borderline personality disorder (BPD). Ms Johnson did not specify what Pheobe's disability was. However, before she disappeared, the teen had shared a post to TikTok about borderline personality disorder. 'Having a partner with bpd (borderline personality disorder) means... getting blocked or left over small incidents... they will say very harsh things they don't mean when having an episode,' the post said, apparently in an attempt to explain her sometimes unpredictable behaviour. Ms Johnson previously said Pheobe 'didn't fit the mainstream school model' and struggled with her education until she was enrolled at the alternative Y School in Bundaberg.

The grim way forensic investigators plan to officially identify remains believed to belong to Pheobe Bishop
Pheobe Bishop's family have revealed the confronting way police intend to officially identity remains discovered in the search for the 17-year-old. Officers discovered what were believed to be the teenager's remains near Goodnight Scrub National Park on Friday. Pheobe, 17, went missing near Queensland 's Bundaberg Airport about 8.30am on May 15 after booking a trip to WA. Pheobe's housemates, James Wood, 34, and Tanika Bromley, 33, fronted Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Friday accused of her murder, three weeks to the day after she missed a flight and vanished. Police allege they moved her body more than once. New details have now been revealed regarding Pheobe's alleged murder. It's alleged Bromley and Wood interfered with a corpse on May 15 and again two days later when Pheobe's body is said to have been moved to Good Night Scrub National Park. A family member told The Courier Mail they 'just knew' it was her despite police yet to officially confirm the DNA results. They said detectives were investigating a match of hair colour and clothing to the teenager's. Court documents suggest the 17-year-old was killed on Airport Drive in Kensington where she was last seen carrying her luggage, which police have yet to find. Woods remains in custody at Maryborough Correctional Centre while Bromley is currently at Brisbane Women's Correctional Centre. James Wood and his partner Tanika Bromley have both been charged with Pheobe's murder and interfering with a corpse after she was said to have been moved more than once The matters have been adjourned until August, with neither entering pleas. Pheobe's sister Kaylea Bishop, 18, sat in the far corner of the front row of Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Friday, dressed in black with her eyes red, as the case was heard. She stared straight ahead, flanked by friends, family and a court security guard as details of the murder charges against the couple were read out. Neither Wood nor Bromley appeared in person or by video link for the hearing. On Sunday, hundreds attended a moving candelight vigil at Kola Community Park in Gin Gin, with mourners wearing bright colours and butterflies. Kaylea and mum Kylie Johnson were among those who gave emotional speeches in honour of the murdered teenager. 'Obviously, I didn't write a speech, but, um... Pheobe! 17 years was never enough for your life,' she said. 'But in the short 17 years that she was with us, God, she gave us a run for our bloody money... She was cutthroat person, but she saw the good in everyone. 'If she had a opinion about you, you were sure to find out about it, whether you liked it or not. That's just the way Pheobe was, but she was loyal to the core. 'She loved, respected, and valued her life.' Kaylea thanked all those who attended the candlelight vigil before being left unable to continue as she burst into tears. At the end of the vigil, the 18-year-old, dedicated a One Republic song to the teen and said, 'Please stand up and dance, because you know that's what this b****h (Pheobe) would do!' The family immediately broke out dancing and cheering in a moment those in attendance described as incredibly emotional. In a powerful tribute, Pheobe's mum Kylie bravely urged the Gin Gin community to 'respect' Bromley's family following the charges against her. Kylie also read out two poems in memory of her 'gypsy warrior' daughter as she shared how Pheobe 'always sung her own tune' and 'lived to the fullest'. The grieving mother told mourners her daughter loved those she cared about 'to every extent of the earth'.

Family describes missing teen Pheobe Bishop as 'strong-willed', as items found near Bundaberg bushland
The family of missing teenager Pheobe Bishop has issued a statement, describing the teenager as "sassy", "feisty" and "strong-willed", as police continue their search for the 17-year-old in bushland near Bundaberg. Forensic police collected items from an area near Goodnight Scrub National Park as part of the investigation. The painstaking search has already lasted several days, and is expected to continue on Sunday. Pheobe was last seen at Airport Drive with her luggage on the morning of May 15, but never made it into Bundaberg Airport, where she was booked to catch a flight to Western Australia. Police divers and volunteers for the State Emergency Service have been assisting in the search of dense bushland in the national park. Yesterday, they were seen removing items from the bush. Police have not confirmed what the brown evidence bags contained, or whether it was linked to Pheobe's disappearance. A property at Gin Gin, where Pheobe lived with two other people, was earlier declared a crime scene. The teenager's family is still holding onto hope she will be found. In a statement on behalf of Pheobe's family, her mother, Kelly Johnson, described her as someone who is "strong-willed and [has] followed her own beat to life." "Phee is the sunflower in a field full of wildflowers. She is an essential part of our lives and we need her home. "We need to hear her music, feel her hugs and hear her voice. "You can't tame Phee's spirit, empathy or fight for life. She is sassy, feisty and loves harder than anyone I've ever meet." Her mother said Pheobe would never go this long without contacting anyone. "We are appealing to anyone who may have heard from Phoebe, or anyone who has information about where she may be, to please contact police." Police have asked anyone with CCTV footage or dash-cam vision of the Goodnight Scrub area on, or about, May 15 to come forward.
