Jonathan Parsons was reported missing from Huntly, in Aberdeenshire, after last being seen in the town's Yule Square at around 7.15am on Thursday, July 3. Officers say they are 'growing increasingly concerned' for the 40-year-old – who is described as being around 5' 7' with brown hair and wearing blue trousers, boots and carrying a green rucksack. On Monday, Police Scotland said that Parsons's vehicle had been found at Battle Hill car park. Today, it has walking trails and a viewpoint offering 'sweeping views over Huntly', according to the town's development trust. Inspector Barry Stewart said: 'We are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of Jonathan who has not been seen for several days. 'We are carrying out searches in the areas of River Bogie and Battle Hill Woods areas. 'Anyone with any information as to the whereabouts of Jonathan is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 1449 of 6 July 2025.'

Rare Mary Queen of Scots letters to be auctioned

Letters signed by Mary, Queen of Scots and her husband Lord Darnley urging a Highland family to keep the peace in and around Inverness are to be auctioned were written almost 500 years ago when rival families and clans were vying for control of land across Roses of Kilravock Castle, about 10 miles (16km) east of Inverness, were loyal supporters of of the letters asks the Roses to help maintain law and order, while another gives them control of Inverness Castle. The letters jointly signed by Mary's husband Henry Stuart, Lord Darnley, have been described as providing a rare example of harmony in their troubled couple later fell out and Henry became infamous for leading a group that murdered Mary's loyal servant David Rizzio in front of her in 1566. Henry was murdered himself the following year. The letters are part of a collection of papers from Kilravock Castle, near Croy, that are being sold by auctioneers Lyon and are five in total being sold, and they have been valued at between £10,000 to £15,000. A major pub chain is celebrating its tenth birthday by giving away pints this week. A total of 40 Craft Union boozers will be handing out the free drinks on Wednesday (May 14), with 10,000 pints up for grabs. Revellers can pick from a pint of Birra Moretti, a single Gordons and mixer, or a soft drink such as a Coke or Sprite on the day. All anyone need do is ask at the bar. There are 40 Craft Union pubs in London, including the Pride of Pimlico in Westminster, the Sea Horse in Fleet Street, the Anchor in Battersea and the Bedford Arms in Fulham. The celebrations go further: each pub will also be donating 10p to charity from every pint sold on the day, while there's a £10,000 cash giveaway for one lucky customer. Since Craft Union opened its first site back in 2015, the Market Tavern in Stoke-on-Trent, the pub company has grown to number 637 around the country. Frazer Grimbleby, managing director at Craft Union, said: 'We're proud to be marking our 10th anniversary with three initiatives to give back to our guests as a thank you for how they have supported Craft Union over the last decade.
