From The Hindu, June 30, 1925: Shanghai Akali Jatha
Bombay, June 29: An Akali Jatha from Shanghai arrived here by the China mail steamer, Sicilia. The party is composed of 25 men, some of whom were engaged in business and others belonged to the Shanghai Police Force. The Sikh population of Shanghai numbers about 1,400 souls. The present Jatha has not yet decided its programme. On arrival the Sikh population of Bombay gave the Jatha a rousing reception and took them in a procession, with the Granth Sahib placed in a gaily decorated motor car.
