Vampire Weekend has four shows in New Jersey. How much do tickets cost?
Vivid Seats is the New York Post's official ticketing partner. We may receive revenue from this partnership for sharing this content and/or when you make a purchase. Featured pricing is subject to change. Vampire Weekend is returning to their roots. The beloved indie group — who just launched the second leg of their 'Only God Was Above Us Tour' — announced that, due to overwhelming demand, they are playing four concerts at lead singer Ezra Koenig's hometown-adjacent Wellmont Theater in Montclair, NJ. These highly-anticipated concerts are set to take place Monday, Sept. 15, Tuesday, Sept. 16, Wednesday, Sept. 17 and Thursday, Sept. 18 at the intimate venue, which can only fit 2,137 audience members. Advertisement As an added dose of nostalgia, Koenig's high school band, The Sophisticuffs, will open all four shows. 'Sophisticuffs was a Glen Ridge, NJ band active from roughly 1999-2002,' the band shared via Instagram. 'Ezra was a member ages 15-17 along with his good friends Wes, Steve, Dan and Andrei. They played the vast majority of their shows in Montclair, usually at Serendipity (in the Congregational Church) or at the Possible Side Effects improv events under the Clairidge Theater. They dabbled in surf, post-rock, Christmas, punk and pop music. Ezra is thrilled to reunite onstage with the band for the first time since high school. You can expect to hear [their] songs like 'Chicken Dance,' 'Hello Professor,' and 'Great Expectations.'' While it's likely Sophisticuffs will stick to a fairly strict set list, we'd expect anything but for Vampire Weekend. At their most recent shows, they've been mixing things up and ending their sets with all-over-the-map encores where they play a number of covers requested by the audience, as reported by Set List FM. Advertisement If this sounds like the freewheeling show for you, tickets are available for all four homecoming Vampire Weekend New Jersey concerts as of today. At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on seats for any one Wellmont Theater show was $83 including fees on Vivid Seats. Their other three shows have tickets starting anywhere from $111 to $132 including fees. Not bad to see Vampire Weekend and The Sophisticuffs up close and personal in a much smaller venue than they typically play. Vampire Weekend new music On April 5, 2024, Vampire Weekend released their fifth studio album 'Only God Was Above Us.' In the very off chance you haven't listened yet, the guys still have the goods. The precise yet ramshackle opener 'Ice Cream Piano' is a slice of piano pop heaven with pounding percussions, swirling strings and washed out guitar mixed in over Koenig's lush vocals. From there, the goofy 'Classical' finds one groove, settles into another and becomes something entirely different. Oftentimes, 'OGWAU' is so inspired that it struggles to sit with one melody or idea for too long; this isn't a knock on the group though. The band's restlessness keeps the listener on their toes in the best way. Advertisement 'Capricorn,' the third track, oscillates between twinkly piano ballad and noise rock; Koenig's soft, unassuming lyrics ('I know you're tired of trying baby, you don't have to try' is a standout) glide over lush keys until the tune hurtles into overdrive two minutes in with discordant noise-rock before bringing it back to basics. For the remainder of the brief 47-minute runtime, Vampire Weekend continue to surprise and innovate. 'Connect' marries DIY banging on drums with synthetic autotune; 'Prep School Gangsters' takes a page out of The Beach Boys' laid-band, seaside playbook. Although each song features the same ingredients (and all sound unmistakably Vampire Weekend-ian) the end result is unique each time. In the back half, 'The Surfer' goes a more lo-fi airy route than the five tunes that preceded it yet still features majestic swirls. 'Gen-X Cops' transitions from an out and out garage rock anthem into something a bit more precious — a hard driving, head-bopping indie anthem. Best of all though, might be the melancholy, triumphant, choir-backed 'Mary Boone.' It fits squarely into this critic's favorite genre: the heartbreaking, singalong anthem that gives you goosebumps every time you hear it. Closing us out is the charming thumper 'Pravda' (which just might be the most perfect 'making dinner' song to ever exist) and 'Hope,' an eight-minute epic with the refrain 'I Hope You Let It Go.' EXCLUSIVE: Kresha Bajaj talks on Samantha's recycled wedding outfit after divorce with Naga Chaitanya and her new collection
Fashion designer Kresha Bajaj has launched her new collection called 'Aurelia'. The collection reflects this concept of beauty trapped in stasis, and that suggests a story held within every garment. In an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, Kresha Bajaj opens up on her experience of designing 'Aurelia', redesigning her BFF Samantha Ruth Prabhu's wedding outfit, and more. Q. 'Aurelia' collection reflects 'for someone who exists between the past and present' – Please elaborate on this? Aurelia is a collection built on contrasts—romantic yet restrained, delicate yet defined. It's for a woman who lives in the now but carries the stories of another time. The silhouettes, embroideries, and textures draw from an era that feels almost lost, but we reinterpret them for the modern woman—someone who isn't nostalgic, but rather reverent. She doesn't wear the past as a costume; she wears it as a memory, reimagined. Q. How did you incorporate the timeless appeal of London's Regency-era fashion, as inspired by a character like Miss Havisham from Great Expectations, into your collection? Miss Havisham's character fascinated me—not in her heartbreak, but in her stillness. Her untouched world felt like a time capsule, suspended in lace and decay. I drew from that mood—layered tulle, crumbling silks, and beads that feel like they've lived a life before. The silhouettes nod to Regency shapes- empire lines, corseted waists, but softened and deconstructed, like heirlooms passed down and altered with time. Q. With the popularity of Regency fashion through shows like Bridgerton, are we going to witness some similarities in your collection? Bridgerton brought Regency fashion back into the cultural conversation, but Aurelia speaks a more intimate language. While you may see certain cues, structured bodices, puffed sleeves, or high waistlines, the treatment is quieter, less theatrical. For me, it's not about recreating the period, but about creating something that feels like it could have been part of it... or perhaps whispered through it. Q. How expressionist do you think your collection Aurelia, would be from other fashion labels, who are ready to experiment and tweak the classic fashion picks? Aurelia doesn't just tweak the classics - it haunts them. It's deeply emotional, almost cinematic in how it approaches storytelling through fabric. Each piece carries layers - of craftsmanship, of reference, of intention. It's less about trends and more about feeling. Where others might modernize a silhouette, we let it unravel a bit. There's imperfection, rawness, and a softness that comes from restraint. Q. You redesigned Samantha Ruth Prabhu's wedding outfit. Share with us your vision and her vision and how you carried forward the process, as there were emotions attached to it. That piece was more than a garment—it was a memory stitched into something new. Samantha wanted to reclaim something deeply personal, and I felt honoured to be part of that process. We kept the essence intact—the soul of the original outfit—but reimagined it with intention. It wasn't about erasing the past; it was about acknowledging it with grace and transforming it into something.

I'm a tough critic when it comes to audio gear, but these $199 headphones still have me hooked
I spend a lot of my life reviewing some of the best headphones... and I also spend a lot of my life reviewing some of the worst headphones. Charles Dickens, who? I think I just rewrote "Great Expectations" for the audiophile crowd. Anyhoo, I reviewed the Soundcore Space One Pro back in February, and I still can't believe how good these headphones are. I gave them a near-perfect 4.5 stars and struggled to fault them. And the best part? They're just $199. (Well, they're often on sale for $169, which makes them like a 4.75 star product.) I've tested my fair share of headphones, and I think the Space One Pros absolutely blow the Bose QuietComforts out of the water in terms of value, and I'll tell you why. What makes the Space One Pro headphones so good? For starters, they're a fraction of the cost of other headphones of this caliber. But my favorite part is the personalized EQ (HearID), which I'll get into in full in 3...2...1... I know some headphone brands offer personalized EQs now (Denon, JBL, Jabra, etc), but the Soundcore version is straight-up entertainment. I've never been so enthralled by a silly little game on my silly little phone before. Let me walk you through it. The Soundcore app runs you through a game (called HearID), where you select which EQ sounds better. Have you ever been to the opticians for a vision test, and they ask you which lens is better? It's like that, but with the same song under different EQ styles. After you complete the game, the headphones generate your perfect EQ, based on what you like. So if you choose the bassier songs, it'll create a bass-heavy EQ. Similarly, if you choose the enhanced vocal (treble) track, it'll provide you with treble-focused EQ. I found this way more effective and fun than a manual EQ slider. Sure, I'm more than capable of adjusting my own frequency volumes — that's all an EQ is, after all — but this made it so much more fun. I was immediately enamored with these headphones. Kind of ironic, but I think the Soundcore Space One Pros are more comfy than the Bose QuietComforts. The soft cups felt like clouds against my ears, and I couldn't feel the plastic driver casing through the mesh. As soon as I put the Space One Pro headphones on, I was shocked at how cheap they are. Usually, even mid-range headphones have thin mesh between the cups and the drivers, but not the Space One Pros. Look at that! So flexible! I feel like a little kid when they say "Mommy! Look at me!" and do some wild contortion that only kids under five are capable of. (I used to be a kindergarten teacher, and that happened to me about 10 times a day. They also used to ask me if I, too, could put my foot over my head. I can't.) The Space One Pros are comfy and flexible, so they can easily be stowed away in a bag or even in a jacket pocket without being too bulky. I'd definitely grab these right before leaving the house and not worry about accidentally breaking them while stuffing them in my bag, running after the bus. As much as I love the Soundcore Space One Pro headphones, they're not perfect. The ANC is good, don't get me wrong. But it's not great. They won't be the best noise-canceling headphones any time soon. When I was testing them, I could still hear traffic noise when I was walking around the city. However, when I was in the office, my colleagues had to wave their hands in front of my face to get my attention. So, swings and roundabouts. If you want to be aware of your surroundings on city walks, then the ANC might not be a negative. All that being said, if you need mind-blowing ANC, then you have to spend $$$ and go for the $349 Bose QuietComfort headphones. Bose is renowned for its industry-leading ANC, and the QuietComforts are no different. My colleague Nikita says that Bose's ANC is "so good you feel lonely", which I think is the best way to describe it. So if you want to save some dough and get mind-blowingly good value headphones? The Space One Pros are calling your name. But if you need ANC that will block out the world? The Bose QuietComforts might just steal the crown here. Me? I'm more than happy with my $150 saving and my Space One Pros.
