Min inaugurates project worth Rs 44cr in Angul

Thursday inaugurated multiple development projects worth Rs 44 crore during his one-day visit to Angul district, including significant upgrades to his alma mater.
The minister inaugurated 34 projects valued at Rs 44.88 crore and laid foundation stones for 19 projects worth Rs 8.9 crore. Key initiatives include road improvements across Kosala-Chhendipada and NH-55 to Patharagada, along with educational infrastructure development.
At Handidhua Government Primary School, where Pradhan received his early education, he inaugurated smart classrooms and other facilities worth Rs 1.37 crore.
The school received Rs 1.10 crore under the STARS scheme for the fiscal year 2023-24.
"The school feels like home to me," Pradhan said while interacting with students. "Through the new national education policy, we envision a comprehensive and futuristic education system that goes beyond examinations," he added.
The minister also launched the Ek Ped Maa k Naam 2.0 campaign, setting an ambitious target of planting 10 lakh saplings annually for the next decade.
The initiative includes a mobile sapling distribution vehicle, an information van, and the "Green Angul" mobile app.
Various welfare schemes' benefits were distributed to eligible beneficiaries, including Nirman Shramik Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, and Kendu Leaf Workers Scheme. "Under the double-engine government, development is reaching every corner of the state," Pradhan stated, emphasising the fulfilment of election promises.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by local officials and beneficiaries. The projects are expected to significantly boost infrastructure and educational facilities in the region.
