Rivals Five-Star: Breaking down the wide receivers

INDIANAPOLIS – The stars came out for the 2025 Rivals Five-Star event at the Indianapolis Colts' facility this week. Here we break down the top receivers from the event. MORE FROM INDY: Highlights and analysis | Teams that should be pleased | Positional MVPs | Gorney Awards | Biggest surprises | Flip watch | QB analysis | RB analysis RECRUITING INTEL: Mid-South | Florida | West | Southeast | Midwest RIVALS FIVE-STAR MEDIA DAY: All the news, notes and interviews | The All-Lobby Team | How solid are the commitments? | Roster RIVALS FIVE-STAR INTERVIEWS: Jaden O'Neal | Trae Taylor | Chase Calicut | Samu Moala | Jake Kreul | Felix Ojo | Peyton Houston | CJ Sadler | Richard Wesley | JaReylan McCoy | Carter Scruggs | Nolan Wilson | Carson Sneed | Derrek Cooper | Devin Carter | Jayden Wade | Joel Wyatt | Kaden Henderson | Nick Abrams The five-star Ohio State commit gets better every time I see him. His impressive track speed is what everyone knows about. But his ability to run crisp routes, create separation and catch the ball continue to get better. That's a scary proposition for opposing defenses. Many programs including Tennessee are trying to move him off his commitment to Ohio State. It'll be tough to do so as long as coach Brian Hartline is on staff. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH OHIO STATE FANS AT Gregory is a consistent performer at every event. He just makes plays. The Texas A&M commitment is a crafty route runner that gets just enough separation on his routes. But his calling card is his hands. Gregory rarely drops a pass and we didn't see it happen again during the Rivals Five-Star. Coach Mike Elko will have a very dependable weapon in his offense. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH TEXAS A&M FANS AT The IMG Academy star was one of the youngest players in attendance but made a huge impact. He won the fastest man competition, beating everyone in the finals. McFarland was consistently open during the one-on-ones and 7-on-7 portion of camp. He's a name the country will know about in short order. Sadler was one of the bigger surprises of camp. We knew he was good but no one saw it coming that he'd be able to get open with such ease against some of the best defensive backs in the country. The Michigan native is electric in the slot and took home MVP honors. North Carolina has the momentum in this recruitment. But Colorado, Maryland, Michigan and Michigan State are still in the hunt for him.

Khandallah murder crime scene 'very confronting' — detective

The jury in the DeLuney murder trial has been shown pictures of the broken-off tip of a fake nail - bright orange - next to the body of 79-year-old Helen Gregory. Her daughter Julia DeLuney is on trial, accused of her murder, after she was found dead at her Khandallah home in January 2024. This week, detectives gave evidence about the bloody crime scene, clumps of hair and scalp on the floor in the hall and by the body, and about how they began to treat the death as suspicious, rather than an accident. The Crown says DeLuney murdered her mother in a violent attack, before staging it to look like a fall from the attic. But the defence says another person caused those fatal injuries, in the 90-minute window in which DeLuney says she left her mother — at this point only minorly injured from a fall from the attic — on the floor of a bedroom, to fetch her husband from Kāpiti to help. ADVERTISEMENT A detective giving evidence said it was when she saw clumps of hair amongst the blood around the body that her mind shifted from thinking of the death as "unexplained" to "suspicious". Also found beside the body was the tip of an orange false nail. Other pictures show bloody handprints and streak marks along the walls of the hallway and the entrance to the attic, as well as on the wall at the back of that cupboard, and on various items around the house — the bed in the bedroom where Gregory was found, a mug in the kitchen, and bloody footprints on the kitchen floor. Detective Constable Kristina O'Connor said on the stand, the gravity of the situation was not lost on her. "Naturally, it's a very confronting view," she said. "I guess in my profession, you're matter-of-fact, and as you're doing it, you do it, it's very much a job, but it doesn't pass me, the gravity of — and especially looking back — the gravity of what I was standing there looking at." Forensic experts were yet to weigh in on the evidence, but the trial was set down for another three weeks at least. The house was checked top to bottom — every magazine page, every cup in every cupboard, every object itemised. ADVERTISEMENT O'Connor said she discovered Gregory — like many older people — kept plastic bags inside more plastic bags in the kitchen, and everything in her house was very neat and ordered. Defence poses questions about another person Meanwhile, the defence was also building its case around the possibility another person was involved. Lawyer Quentin Duff, cross-examining Detective Sergeant Guilia Boffa, put to her that the police never really considered someone else for the crime. The court had already heard a neighbour reported a doorknock with nobody there on the night of Gregory's death, around the same time that evening. He said there had also been a suspicious male reported by an off-duty officer at a nearby park the following day. The morning's headlines in 90 seconds, including wild weather hitting the country, why a judge sided with Meta over AI, and North Korea's new tourist destination. (Source: 1News) ADVERTISEMENT But Boffa said their task at that point was to figure out what happened in that house, with manslaughter in mind. "We're suspecting that that's what's occurred, and we are using emergency powers to gather information to support a charge to be laid," she said. "And would you agree with me that, to the best of your knowledge, the investigation didn't ever seriously contemplate the idea that there might have been a burglar that had killed Mrs Gregory?" she was asked. "That is absolutely incorrect," Boffa replied.

Watch two 2026 Texas A&M commits shine at Rivals Five-Star Camp

Nearly half a dozen of Texas A&M's 2026 commits are taking part in the annual Rival Five-Star event this week, including four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory and four-star edge/linebacker Samu Moala, who have both shut down their recruitment and will sign with the Aggies during the Early Signing Period on December 4. Both prospects, especially Gregory, are considered borderline elite. At the same time, Moala primarily chose the Aggies over UCLA to stay as an edge rusher despite his ability to play linebacker at a high level. On Tuesday, during various drills, Gregory and Moala looked the part and should make a seamless transition at the next level once they make their way to College Station. Gregory, who is a favorite among all of us who cover Texas A&M recruiting, has continued to impress as a route runner and is beginning to shine against the best defensive back competition in the 2026 cycle. In this video, the cornerback is playing off coverage, but Gregory perfectly runs his route, beats his defender, and makes his way to the endzone while showing off his speed down the sideline. On the other side, Samu Moala looks excellent in coverage against tight ends and wide receivers, as he is expected to play the Jack position in Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko's defense, where he will need to cover tight ends in the seam and drop back in coverage at a high rate. This is a great sign and not surprising for two players who I believe have star potential as soon as they enter their sophomore season with the Aggies. Ring Bearer Goat Drags Flower Girl, Causes Chaos at Barn Wedding: ‘Most Unexpected Comedy Show'

A Redditor shared that a goat was hired to be the ring bearer at their cousin's wedding However, the person said that instead of walking down the aisle, the goat "wandered off," and "dragged" the flower girl behind him before he tried to eat the couple's guest book The Redditor also noted that the goat made an appearance in several of the couple's wedding photosA bride and groom had an unforgettable wedding experience — all thanks to a goat. A person shared on Reddit's 'Wedding Drama' forum that they attended their cousin's wedding with a 'rustic chic' theme, complete with a 'barn, fairy lights, burlap runners' and the unexpected farm animal, who was set to deliver the rings. 'Everyone turned expectantly, phones ready, and instead of a child in a little suit, out came Gregory,' the Redditor said. 'Gregory is a goat. A real, living goat. In a tuxedo.' 'Apparently, the couple thought it would be adorable to have their pet goat carry the rings,' the person continued, adding, 'And it might've worked if Gregory was in the mood to cooperate. He wasn't.' Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. They shared that the goat wandered off the aisle and 'dragged the poor flower girl behind him' before he made a beeline for the guest book table and tried to eat it. They noted that it caused a commotion at the wedding. 'The officiant barely blinked, a total professional,' the Redditor said. 'Meanwhile, the rest of us sat there frozen between confusion and laughter.' They noted that the best man in the wedding eventually 'lured' the goat away with a 'breadstick from the appetizer table.' Luckily the 'rings were intact' and the ceremony was able to continue. However, the goat still managed to sneak into 'nearly every photo' and stood there like 'he was part of the bridal party.' 'It was chaotic, hilarious, and honestly kind of perfect in its own weird way,' they said. 'I don't know if it was the goat or the love in the air, but that wedding? Unforgettable.' Several people responded to the Redditor noting that they wished they had been there to see the spectacle. One person wrote, 'I would take out a second mortgage on my house to pay whatever entry fee would be required to witness this.' In response, the Redditor said, 'Honestly, it felt like we accidentally bought front row seats to the most unexpected comedy show of the year, starring a goat in formalwear.' He added, 'I'm pretty sure Gregory knew he was the main character, too. If I ever get married, I might have to hire him as a professional wedding crasher.' Another joked, 'Please tell your cousin that she has now ruined weddings for me. If there isn't an uncooperative goat in a tux, I'm not coming.' While someone else playfully chimed in writing, 'Gregory is the GOAT.' Read the original article on People

Texas A&M commit and 2026 4-star WR invited to Rivals Five-Star event

Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class is chock-full of talent at every position. Over the past week, two of the program's elite commits, four-star quarterback Helaman Casuga and four-star edge rusher Jordan Carter, have been invited to the annual Rivals Five-Star event in Indianapolis, Indiana, which now features the Aggies' top-ranked wide receiver commit. On Friday, it was revealed that 2024 four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory has become the newest A&M commit to be invited to the event of the summer, showcasing his elite talent. This is highly unsurprising, given his impressive play this summer during various camps, where he demonstrated his elite route-running and improved downfield speed. Earlier this month, running back Jonathan Hatton and tight end Caleb Tafua, along with Gregory, shut down their recruitment and will sign with the program as soon as Early Signing Day on December 4. During his 2024 junior season at Douglas County HS, Gregory reeled in 53 receptions for 914 yards and nine touchdowns after recording 795 yards and eight touchdowns during the previous season. Gregory's ability to quickly separate in coverage and make plays after the catch is similar to former A&M wideout and current Oregon standout Evan Stewart. As soon as Gregory steps on campus, the Georgia native has a chance to climb up the 2026 depth chart as a third or fourth option during his freshman season.
