MoU signed for tourist info centre operation at Patna Sahib

Patna: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the operation and maintenance of the tourist information centre, Patna Sahib, was signed on Tuesday between Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, Takht Shri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib and Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) in the presence of tourism minister Raju Kumar Singh and department's secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh. The secretary said the tourist information centre at Kangan Ghat, Patna Sahib, was built at a cost of Rs 7.42 crore under the Centre's Prasad scheme. "Following the MoU, the Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, Takht Shri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib will now ensure the operation and maintenance of the centre." The ministry of tourism, govt of India, had earlier approved a scheme worth Rs 41.53 crore for the development of Patna Sahib under the Prasad scheme. It includes a G+2 building, with a sangat hall, reception, kitchen, and toilets on the ground floor, and 14 rooms each on the first and second floors, totalling 28 rooms. The approval for authorising the Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Takht Shri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib, for the maintenance and operation of the tourist facilitation centre, Kanghan Ghat, was received from the cabinet, after which, the MoU was finalised on Tuesday.
