Leunig's cartoon in Spectrum (June 26-27), made me smile. I remember laughing out loud in the 1990s when my boss at Skillshare handed me a 15-page booklet of acronyms for government departments. She did not find this amusing.

Bonded and better
We might have lost a few young teachers with the bonded teacher system (Letters, June 26-27), but those who stayed in those remote locations became first class practitioners (they had no other choice). They understood the concept of community and went on to be educational leaders.
