WWE star shows off Bohemians Oasis jersey in front of millions of people
WWE star Sami Zayn was the latest high-profile figure to wear a Bohemians jersey and showed it off in front of millions. The popular wrestler returned to action on Monday and did so with a splash as he wore the Oasis-inspired Bohemians jersey. And with Netflix now broadcasting Monday Night Raw, the jersey would have been seen by millions. Although Zayn could well be a surprise long-time Bohemians fan, it is more likely that he was gifted the jersey by Gypsies die-hard and fellow WWE Superstar Sheamus. The Finglas native is a long-time fan of the Phibsborough outfit and has been on hand to lend his support to the club on different occasions. For Bohemians, it represents great publicity for the club and its limited edition strip. The fan-owned club teamed up with Oasis ahead of the reunion tour, with half of the profits raised from the Oasis shirt going to charity, with a split between Music Generation Ireland and Irish Community Care Manchester, while the other half goes to the club itself. The League of Ireland club has made waves internationally with its kit choices. Previously, it had jerseys with Thin Lizzy, Bob Marley, and Fontaines DC branding. It has also teamed up with Guinness in the past and had a Dublin Bus-themed jersey. Oasis comes to Ireland next month, and their reunion tour is currently in full swing. The Gallagher brothers have played two sold-out shows in Cardiff and five shows in Manchester's Heaton Park. Focus now turns to London, where they will perform five sold-out Wembley Stadium Shows before heading north to Murrayfield, where they will perform three times before heading over to Dublin. After that, things go further afield with shows all across North America and then east towards South Korea, Japan, and Australia. As for Zayn, his colleagues will be in Ireland next month for a live recording of WWE SmackDown.

Ross Tierney impressed by Bohemians' recent performances and says unique pre-season training is reason

But Tierney reckons that the draws show progress. He said: 'The last two games . . . it's been frustrating. We've come off in both feeling disappointed, which is probably the standard we've set ourselves. 'We're a bit annoyed we didn't win both games. But it also shows how far we've come in a short space of time. Bohemians manager Alan Reynolds addresses strong transfer interest in key player
Bohemians are fighting to keep James Clarke at the club amid strong interest from England. League Two side Grimsby Town are keen to land the 24-year-old midfielder in this transfer window. Clarke, playing lately as a makeshift striker for the Gypsies, is out of contract at the end of the League of Ireland season. There is no release clause in his current deal and Bohs have offered him a new contract. But that is unlikely to deter Grimsby who remain interested and Alan Reynolds says he can't be certain how it will play out. Bohs boss Reynolds said: 'Look, there's interest in him but he's a Bohs player at the minute, and he will be unless things change. I haven't heard any differently, but I know there's interest in him. So he's here now anyway. Click this link or scan the QR code to receive the latest League of Ireland news and top stories from the Irish Mirror. At the start of the season, he wasn't in the team and he had to work and be patient and get in. 'Now he's in the team, there's interest in him. I'd love to keep him, but again, he probably has ambitions of going and playing across the water, but I'm delighted to have him.' If Clarke doesn't agree a new deal with Bohs, the club is faced with the choice of cashing in now for a fee, or losing him for nothing in the winter. 'It depends on what's on offer,' added Reynolds, who is linked with St Pat's fullback Anto Breslin, but denied there was anything imminent. "Whether the board feels it's worth cashing in and taking the money, but they don't. 'They want James Clarke, they really like James Clarke as a player and would love him to stay beyond, so we'll see what happens in that.' Bohs signed striker Douglas James-Taylor from Walsall this week, a player they know all about following his year on loan with Drogheda United. And his arrival meant the door was shown to Lys Mousset, the one-time £10 million Premier League player for Sheffield United. His move at Bohs at the start of the season caused a stir among the fanbase, but it was always a risk considering Mousset's injury issues and how he has lost his way. And while Mousset - dubbed 'The Moose' by Bohs fans - scored the winner in Sligo in May, Reynolds admits it was a short-term deal that didn't work out for either party. 'Lys struggled to settle,' said the Gypsies manager. 'We've struggled to get him fit, to get him on the pitch. It's probably one that everyone could see happening, let's be honest. But he scored a great goal down in Sligo, and can look back on that as we got three points. 'It just hasn't worked. And he had a conversation with us to say, 'look, I think it's the right time for us to go'.' Reynolds added: 'It was great for the league at the time, all the publicity, but getting him fit was the issue. We tried everything with him. All the staff did. 'But he picked up niggles and things like that which slowed it down all the time. One thing is for sure, if he wants to play football, he needs to get fit.' Lys Mousset's spell at Bohemians is over as the Gypsies cut 'The Moose' loose
Bohemians have parted company with former Premier League striker Lys Mousset after a short stay. Mousset was a £10 million player in England's top flight when Sheffield United bought him from Bournemouth in 2019. But the Frenchman lost his way after his spell with the Blades, with various fitness issues setting him back in his career. The 29-year-old's arrival at Bohemians in February caused a stir and fans quickly embraced the quirky nature of the signing, dubbing the striker 'The Moose'. But Mousset continued to struggle for fitness at Bohs and made just nine appearances for Alan Reynold's men, starting three times. He only scored one goal, but it was a valuable strike as it secured a 1-0 win for Bohemians away to Sligo Rovers in May. The writing was on the wall for Mousset this week when Bohemians signed former Drogheda United loanee striker Douglas James-Taylor from Walsall. In a statement, the Gypsies said: 'Bohemian FC can today confirm the departure of Lys Mousset by mutual consent. We thank Lys for his efforts at the club over the past six months and wish him all the very best for the future.'
