If big-city living isn't your thing but a more rural lifestyle doesn't sound attractive either, you may be interested in HGTV's list of the best mid-sized cities in the United States. One Florida city, Tampa, came in at No. 1 on the list, with another in the top 10 at No. 3 and a third squeaking into the top 20. HGTV described mid-sized cities as those with a population between 100,000 and 500,000. Citing the U.S. Census Bureau and think tank Milken Institute, HGTV said "newcomers are flocking to these cities." Here are HGTV's 20 "favorite mid-size cities on the upswing that are worthy of your attention." The top-ranked mid-sized city in the U.S. on HGTV's list was Tampa, on Florida's west coast. Here's what HGTV had to say about Tampa: "Tampa has a population of nearly 400,000 and it's showing no signs of slowing down, continuing to attract visitors with easy access to theme parks, major league sports teams, contemporary museums and, of course, white sandy beaches on Florida's Gulf Coast. "Visitors flock to Tampa for Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and the Tampa Museum of Art, as well as the 2.6-mile Tampa Riverwalk that meanders alongside Hillsborough River." on singles living in Tampa: Salary needed to live comfortably: $92,708 Median household income: $71,302 Average monthly cost of living: $3,863 Separated from Tampa only by Henderson, Nevada, Port St. Lucie on Florida's east coast, was ranked No. 3 by HGTV. It's the spring training home for the New York Mets. Not a baseball fan? Not a problem. There are plenty of outdoor draws for nature enthusiasts, like Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens and Savannas Preserve State Park, which is a go-to for kayaking, biking and birdwatching. For beach access, head to Jensen Beach for quiet stretches of coastline and fantastic fishing." HGTV shockingly cancels FOUR shows with more on the chopping block
HGTV has axed Farmhouse Fixer, Bargain Block, Married to Real Estate, and Izzy Does It in a shocking cancellation spree – and there are growing fears over the fate of its other shows. The network's substantial cuts to its programming output in recent days have ignited concern amongst fans and fellow hosts as they await updates on whether other shows have been shelved. The future of Luxe for Less and Unsellable Houses has yet to be announced. Farmhouse Fixer host Jonathan Knight confirmed his show, which he co-presented alongside Kristina Crestin, had been canned on Wednesday after three seasons. 'A lot of you have been asking about the future of Farmhouse Fixer,' he said. 'I am sad to say HGTV has decided not to move forward with another season. 'While I'm still processing the reasons that led to their decision, Kristina and I are so grateful for all your support over the past three seasons. Television has been so incredibly fun for us. 'We are so proud of what we created together and look forward to sharing what's next for us.' Bargain Block host Keith Bynum broke the news of the show's cancellation last week. 'We do have a few more episodes coming out in August, actually starting on Evan's birthday,' he said in an Instagram Story, referring to his co-host and partner, Evan Thomas. 'But they are the remainder of Season 4 'cause they did not renew the show for Season 5.' In a separate grid post, he continued: 'Our entire business and lives have been put through the ringer at the hands of a giant corporation, yet we persist lol. 'Though you may not be seeing us for much longer on HGTV, we're excited that we've built such an amazing base of followers and we're very excited about the future.' Married to Real Estate's hosts Mike Jackson and Egypt Sherrod also addressed their show's axe in a statement and described the decision as 'unexpected.' 'Mike and I just landed back in the States after an unforgettable family trip through the Mediterranean, and we're met with unexpected news: HGTV has decided not to move forward with Married to Real Estate,' it read. 'While the chain of events leading up to this is disheartening, we are deeply grateful. Grateful for four incredible seasons. Grateful for our amazing crew and supportive fans. 'Grateful that our businesses continue to thrive. And most of all–grateful that we are still very much married to real estate (and to each other).' They also hinted at some acrimony with HGTV, indicating while the cancellation was a surprise, it may have also been a blessing in disguise. 'There's more to say, and we'll share soon. But for now, know this: not all setbacks are what they seem. Some blessings show up in disguise,' they added. 'We've been here before. We'll keep counting those blessings-and keep it moving. Stay tuned,' the statement concluded. The post was captioned: 'Sometimes GOD will rip you out of a situation to set you up for your next!' Egypt is the CEO of the Egypt Sherrod Real Estate Group, while Mike is the owner of Jackson Draper Renovations. They both served as judges on HGTV's Rock the Block in Season 2, and competed themselves in Season 3, prevailing as champions. Egypt also hosted HGTV's Flipping Virgins from 2015 to 2018, and they both host the successful Marriage & Money podcast as well. While Izzy Battres, the host of Izzy Does It, hasn't issued a statement directly addressing his show's cancellation, he did respond to a fan to express his thanks. 'Unfortunately, no season two,' he said, 'but we're truly, thankful for everyone watching and supporting us!!'

Married to Real Estate hosts Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson lash out after their show was canceled during a vacation
Married to Real Estate hosts Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson are breaking their silence after HGTV canceled their beloved show. The married couple launched the show in 2022, following them as they balance their personal and professional lives as they help clients in Atlanta land their dream homes. The show wrapped up its fourth season back in late May, with the third season pulling in 16.6 million viewers, though it seems HGTV decided to cancel it while the couple was on vacation. The couple released a joint statement on their respective Instagram accounts, though Jackson made it quite clear on his Instagram story that he was not pleased with how it happened, while hinting at a working environment that was not ideal. 'I can't front. I'm a bit tight and disappointed. If y'all only knew what we have to put up with and endure,' he said in an Instagram story slide. He also shared a number of clips from the show, along with a video of him and his wife dressed for a formal affair, captioned, 'We got us,' and a slide that read, 'Either WE building or I'M building. Either way, it's getting built.' The couple's official statement on the matter from Egypt was more cordial, though it hinted there was much more they had to say in the future. 'Mike and I just landed back in the States after an unforgettable family trip through the Mediterranean, and we're met with unexpected news: HGTV has decided not to move forward with Married to Real Estate,' the joint statement began. 'While the chain of events leading up to this is disheartening, we are deeply grateful,' the statement continued. 'Grateful for four incredible seasons. Grateful for our amazing crew and supportive fans. Grateful that our businesses continue to thrive,' they added. 'And most of all-grateful that we are still very much married to real estate (and to each other),' they said of their marriage, as they get ready to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary in September. They also hinted at some acrimony with HGTV, indicating while the cancellation was a surprise, it may have also been a blessing in disguise. 'There's more to say, and we'll share soon. But for now, know this: not all setbacks are what they seem. Some blessings show up in disguise,' they added. 'We've been here before. We'll keep counting those blessings-and keep it moving. Nicole Curtis Reveals Why Her Ex-Boyfriend Appears on New Season of ‘Rehab Addict' (Exclusive)
Nicole Curtis works alongside her ex-boyfriend Ryan Sawtelle on season 9 of Rehab Addict 'We were together a long time" and "never really stayed out of contact," she tells PEOPLE Curtis says she enlisted Sawtelle's help since he was located near a Wyoming property she was restoringNicole Curtis has help from a surprising collaborator on the new season of Rehab Addict — her ex-boyfriend Ryan Sawtelle. In the season premiere (airing June 24), Sawtelle works as a carpenter on a Wyoming property from the 1890s that the HGTV star sets out to restore after a poorly executed flip. 'We were together a long time and I was very close to his family,' Curtis tells PEOPLE, explaining why she welcomed Sawtelle on the show. 'So we never really stayed out of contact. Your lives are so enmeshed.' Curtis bought the Wyoming home on a whim online during a chaotic trip to Paris in July 2022, which she says came after a 'setback' in her life. Buoyed by an averted near-crisis after she accidentally boarded the flight without her wallet, she recalls thinking, "'I'm going to knock off all my wish lists tonight," before making the spur-of-the-moment purchase. When she got to Wyoming, she enlisted Sawtelle for the renovation project. Curtis bought the Wyoming home on a whim online during a chaotic trip to Paris in July 2022, which she says came after a 'setback' in her life. 'I didn't know anyone in Wyoming, but I knew somebody near Wyoming, and so I gave him a call,' she adds of Sawtelle. 'We just went out there together and checked out the house. It wasn't anything else. There was definitely no reconciliation or 'Maybe this was a mistake not being together.' No, no, no, .... Us going separate paths was a hundred percent the best idea that we ever had.' The former couple began dating in 2018. The following year, the home restoration expert opened up about her relationship with Sawtelle, whom she met after she began following his niece's battle with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), an aggressive brain tumor found in children, via his Instagram. 'My heart is happy and having him near me brings a calm I've never known,' Curtis told PEOPLE at the time. 'Not that it's been easy. Everyone has a great first few months rocking everything they have in common. But after six months, you start digging into the other stuff and you either grow apart or negotiate those differences and move forward. And [you] have to make a decision to focus on the fun.' Curtis, whose return to HGTV comes three years after the spinoff Rehab Addict: Lake House Rescue aired in 2022, is staying mum on whether she's currently dating anyone special. 'I keep my private life private because I think there's been some very traumatic moments in my life that weren't so private,' she says. 'Another lesson learned. I tell people all the time, if you're in my circle, then you know what's going on in my life. Other than that, I stay pretty mute about everything.' Curtis has two sons: Ethan, whom she welcomed in 1997 with her ex Steven Cimini, and Harper, born in 2015, whom she shares with ex Shane Maguire. She went through a very public years-long custody battle over Harper with Maguire and became an outspoken advocate for the rights of breastfeeding mothers. Her decision to continue to breastfeed Harper at age 3 drew criticism from some and became a point of contention in her legal fight with Maguire. The former couple reached a custody agreement in October 2018. 'Our family went through a lot over the years, and so that's definitely something that I have done my best to keep my family out of the public eye and focus on the houses,' she continues. 'That's always where we wanted that focus to be.' The season premiere of Rehab Addict airs Tuesday, June 24 on HGTV at 9 ET/PT. Read the original article on People
