Ja'Marr Chase stokes the flames of an AFC North rivalry with an indirect jab at the Ravens
Ja'Marr Chase throws gas on an already venomous rivalry by taking a swing at the Ravens' secondary. As much as we enjoyed Hard Knocks: In Season with the AFC North, there are days when it feels like it aired a season too early. What might the cameras catch in the Baltimore Ravens locker room this time around? Aaron Rodgers now plays for the hated Pittsburgh Steelers. That's quite interesting. The Cleveland Browns have a quarterback dilemma and potential controversy brewing. That one involves Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, Kenny Pickett, and Joe Flacco. Then, there are the drama-filled Cincinnati Bengals. You may have heard. The Bengals refuse to pay anyone but wide receivers. They've ticked off 2024 First-Team All-Pro Trey Hendrickson. Speaking of Bengals wideouts... Have you heard the latest on Ja'Marr Chase? Whether he intended to or not, he reignited his team's feud with Baltimore, as if this war needed more venom. Ja'Marr Chase indirectly pokes the Ravens in a recent interview Chase recently hung out on an episode of The Sitdown with Malik Wright. Once the topic turned to defensive backs he has faced, he mentioned several lockdown cornerbacks, many of whom play in the AFC North, but guess what? None of them play for the Ravens. Browns corner Denzel Ward earned a mention. So did three Steelers. Joey Porter Jr. and two of their new additions, Jalen Ramsey and Darius Slay, got the nod, as did his former LSU teammate, Derek Stingley Jr. Let's play devil's advocate. In all honesty, Chase has torched the Ravens at times, especially in recent years, but it's hard to forget Marlon Humphrey beating him to a spot in Week 5 this season. He forced a turnover that eventually sent a close game into overtime. Baltimore closed the show with a game-winning field goal in the extra session. Some might call this reaching, but you can best believe professional athletes pay attention to these things. It doesn't take much to add fuel to this rivalry's fire, but this may give the Ravens' secondary some added motivation during their two-game clash with 'the Bungles' this season.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow Reveals Major Purchase He Had to Nix After Home Burglary
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was the victim of a home burglary at his Ohio residence back in December while playing against the Dallas Cowboys. The two-time NFL Comeback Player of the Year opened up about the harrowing ordeal in the Netflix docuseries Quarterback. Advertisement The burglary, involving the theft of jewelry and other items, deeply affected Burrow. He understandably felt a significant invasion of privacy. And he was distraught that he had been feeling good with his life, only to have this incident take his mood down a notch or two. 'Of (expletive) course this happened to me right now,' Burrow said. 'When you're on cloud nine, something's gonna bring you right back down. It just felt like the kind of year that it was.' 'I just get uncomfortable when, you know, my life is very public… and, you know, it comes with the job, but… there's certain parts of your life that are, like… yours. Your house is one of those,' he added, according to Fox News. 'When that gets violated, people find out where you live, all these different things.' Joe Burrow's Home Robbed Four Chilean nationals were later arrested in the robbery at Joe Burrow's home. The operation was part of a broader pattern of thefts targeting the homes of high-profile athletes. Advertisement The alleged criminals were advanced enough to break into a highly secured home of a major athlete, but then stupidly shot themselves in the foot by posing for pictures wearing some of his stolen jewelry. After the suspects were tracked down, one of the crew tried deleting photos from his cell phone. One such photo showed the gang posing with some of the stolen goods. In fact, one of the crooks is seen wearing some very specific jewelry – Burrow's iconic '9″ and 'JB9″ necklaces. The police report also indicated the suspects were found with 'an old LSU shirt and Bengals hat.' Burrow explained that the jewelry wasn't a big deal from his viewpoint. Advertisement 'They got all my jewelry… but they could have stolen way worse things than that,' he said. 'I'm not going crazy about some jewelry. It was expensive, but… it was all insured.' RELATED: NFL insider provides update on Trey Hendrickson contract talks with Cincinnati Bengals, in-season holdout threat Reveals Purchase that Fell Through The home break-in also led to Joe Burrow having to nix a very public, very major purchase – the Batmobile. No, seriously, we're not kidding. 'I didn't end up getting the Batmobile because I just had other things I wanted to deal with at that point,' he said. In the premiere episode of HBO's Hard Knocks: In Season with the AFC North, which aired last season, Burrow casually dropped a bombshell during a conversation with teammates Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Advertisement He had bought himself a Batmobile. A real-life Batmobile. 'Have I told you I bought a Batmobile?' Burrow told his teammates during a practice session. 'I don't get it for like a year, but I bought one.' Not just any Batmobile, but a 'Tumbler' from Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, priced at a cool $2.99 million. The frame is made of Kevlar, carbon fiber, and sheet metal fiberglass. It also features a 6.2L LS3 525 HP engine with a whopping 486 ft-lbs of torque… and of course, a smoke screen delivery system. Joe Burrow can easily afford the Batmobile. He could buy a whole fleet of Batmobiles. He could probably buy Robin and Catwoman. Advertisement He signed a $275 million contract extension in 2023. For now, however, he appears to have reined in the excessive purchases due to fears of another home robbery. Burrow delivered a historic performance last season, leading the league with 4,918 passing yards and 43 touchdowns, and earning his second AP Comeback Player of the Year award despite the Bengals missing the playoffs with a 9-8 record. File Photo by Rena Laverty/UPI | License Photo May 21 (UPI) -- HBO's Hard Knocks will feature the Buffalo Bills during training camp and the NFC East during the 2025-26 regular season, the network and NFL announced Wednesday. Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Buffalo Bills will premier at 9 p.m. EDT Aug. 5 on HBO Max. The network will follow that series with Hard Knocks: In Season with the NFC East, which will highlight the reigning champion Philadelphia Eagles, as well as the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants and Washington Commanders. The series, produced by HBO and NFL Films, will again be narrated by Liev Schreiber. "We are thrilled to provide Hard Knocks fans a summer with the Bills and winter with the Cowboys, Giants, Commanders and Eagles in the first year of our exciting new deal with NFL Films," NFL films senior executive Ross Ketover said. "There will be no shortage of star power." Reigning MVP quarterback Josh Allen and the Bills will be featured in a five-part series that will air on Tuesdays through Sept. 2. The team is scheduled to face the Giants, Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in three preseason games during that stretch. "Head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane will be spotlighted, alongside the 2024 NFL Most Valuable Player, quarterback Josh Allen, and an array of veteran and rookie players training at St. John Fisher University in Pittsford, N.Y.," HBO said in a news release. Bills, NFC East to be featured on 'Hard Knocks' in 2025 NFL season
The offseason edition of "Hard Knocks" won't air in 2025, but the usual training camp version, along with the in-season edition of the show, will air again this year. The Buffalo Bills will be featured in the training camp version of "Hard Knocks," while the NFC East will be the featured division in the in-season edition of the show, the league announced Wednesday. This will mark the first time that the Bills have been featured on the long-running HBO show, which is also produced by NFL Films. It also marks the first time that a team that made the playoffs in the season prior will be featured in the training camp version of "Hard Knocks" since 2013. In recent years, the NFL has had trouble getting teams to volunteer to be a part of the show, with teams that made the postseason in the previous year getting an exemption from being forced onto the show. As a result, the NFL changed the rules on which teams could be forced to appear on the training camp version of "Hard Knocks" at the league meetings earlier this offseason. Teams can't be forced to appear on the training camp version of "Hard Knocks" if they have a first-year head coach, if they're not a member of the division to be featured in "Hard Knocks: In Season" for such upcoming season or a member of the division to be featured in the immediately subsequent season, and hasn't been featured in "Hard Knocks: Training Camp" in the previous eight seasons. The 2025 season is shaping up to be another pivotal one for the Bills. Josh Allen had a career year in 2024, winning MVP for the first time in his career. However, their season ended at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs for the fourth time in five years, losing in the AFC Championship Game. As for the in-season version of "Hard Knocks," this marks the second straight year that edition of the show will feature a division instead of a team. Last season, the AFC North was the featured division on "Hard Knocks: In Season." The NFC East is arguably the most discussed division in all of football. Of course, the Philadelphia Eagles will be seeking to repeat as Super Bowl champions in 2025. The Washington Commanders will also look to have another strong year as they're trying to build off the momentum from Jayden Daniels' rookie season, where they lost to the Eagles in the NFC Championship Game. The Dallas Cowboys, meanwhile, are seeking a bounce-back season in 2025. Dak Prescott struggled in the first half of the 2024 season before hamstring surgery cut his year short. Dallas will also be guided by first-year coach Brian Schottenheimer, with wide receiver George Pickens being among its notable additions. Finally, the New York Giants will also enter a pivotal year in 2025, but for a different reason than the Bills. General manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll are likely fighting for their jobs this upcoming season following two straight miserable years. The Giants remade their quarterback room this offseason to try and spark their team for 2025, signing Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston before using a first-round pick on Jaxson Dart. The season premiere of "Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Buffalo Bills" will be on Aug. 5. "Hard Knocks: In Season with the NFC East" will premiere in December.
