Brendan Allen 'over and done with' Marvin Vettori beef after UFC 318 win

Brendan Allen has no interest in continuing to beef with Marvin Vettori. NEW ORLEANS – It looks like the rivalry between Brendan Allen and Marvin Vettori has come to an end, at least for one party. Allen (25-7 MMA, 13-4 UFC) and Vettori (19-8-1 MMA, 9-7-1 UFC) had plenty of bad blood heading into their middleweight bout at Saturday's UFC 318, which took place at Smoothie King Center. The two had gone back and forth in trash talk, and had even gotten into a brawl on the casino floor of the Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, Fla., prior to locking horns in a professional context. Allen, who defeated Vettori by unanimous decision, wants to move past their feud – but he isn't too sure the feeling is mutual. "I just told him, our problems aside, that my heart goes out to him and his family," Allen revealed what he told Vettori after thir bout. "My brother had his accident and he totally lost his brother, so I can't imagine the pain it feels to fully lose your brother. I didn't lose mine, fully, but it still hurts. His coaches started talking sh*t and told me to get the f*ck out of his face. It's just people sticking their nose between two grown men. I don't have any bad blood with him. He can say whatever he wants before and after, that's on him. He's a grown man. I'm a grown man with kids. It's just business to me. We fought. It is what it is. I think I totally won, if you don't, which he probably won't, yeah, for me, it's over and done with." With this result, Allen was able to snap a two-fight losing skid and get back in the win column. He's open to take on any top contender next, and wants to work his way back to title contention. "There's still so many fights that can come," Allen said. "We'll see what happens with the UFC, what they want from me. (Jared) Cannonier. MVP (Michael Page), Roman (Dolidze), Fluffy (Anthony Hernandez) – which is Fluffy wins he's going to continue going up, obviously. He just beat me in that decision. You have Caio (Borralho), (Nassourdine) Imavov, Sean Strickland is still sitting out there. You have a lot of fights. I don't know. We'll see what the UFC wants and what's next."

Featured pricing is subject to change. In a week where Stephen Colbert has been all over the news for a shocking cancellation, it was also announced he's celebrating another show of his getting the axe. The 'Late Show' host — whose CBS program is now slated to end in May 2026 due to 'financial reasons' — is teaming up with his fellow, former 'Strangers With Candy' cast members Amy Sedaris and Paul Dinello to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the cancellation of their subversive, after-school-special skewering 1999-2000 Comedy Central series at New York City's Town Hall on Saturday, Nov. 8. Over its 30-episode, three season and a movie run, Sedaris, Colbert and Dinello's oft-hilarious, boundary-pushing sitcom followed Jerri Blank (Sedaris) a 46-year-old high school freshman who used to be a 'boozer, a user and a loser' and her ironically dramatized, highly-moralized foibles at Flatpoint High. Colbert plays closeted history teacher Chuck Noblet; a few classrooms away, Dinello portrayed his paramour, an art teacher named Geoffrey Jellineck. This one-off reunion is part of the 2025 New York Comedy Festival. Other headliners at the 10-day, five-borough, 200+ comedian event running Nov. 7-16 include stand-ups Louis CK, Hannah Berner, Pete Holmes, Margaret Cho and Chris Fleming along with popular podcasters The Basement Yard among others. Festival founder and owner Caroline Hirsch described this year's crop as 'a dynamic mix of global headliners and rising voices that reflect where comedy is right now and where it's headed. We're proud to continue to bring New York City the very best of the best.' Darius Rucker cleared to continue tour

Darius Rucker has been given the all clear to continue his tour after cutting a gig short due to health issues. The Hootie and the Blowfish star, 59, was performing at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City on July 12, when he told fans he physically couldn't continue any longer and was forced to abandon the show mid-set - promising to make it up to them and offer refunds - and now it has been confirmed the country singer has been given the green light to get back on stage again. A representative for Rucker told USA Today: "There is no further interruption in his touring schedule. Following vocal rest, Darius has been cleared to resume shows." A video filmed during the doomed Atlantic City show, showed Rucker telling the audience: "I'm going to play one more song. I promise you, we are going to figure this out. You're going to get your money back. I just can't sing. "This [has] never happened. I physically can't sing, and I promise you on everything that I stand for I will make this up to you." The audience then helped him by singing the lyrics to Wagon Wheel. Apologising to the crowd, he said: "I'm so sorry." Rucker only managed to fully perform three songs (Life's Too Short, It Won't Be Like This for Long and For the First Time) - the fourth being Wagon Wheel, with the crowd's assistance. After the show, he took to Instagram to apologise to the audience because it had become clear he would not be able to reschedule the concert. The singer explained: "I feel awful and I'm so sorry - I have never lost my voice in all my years of performing. We looked at every option to reschedule, but unfortunately, it's just not possible this year, so we're issuing full refunds." Rucker is due back onstage on Saturday (19.07.25) in Florida. The Atlantic City show was the third stop on Rucker's tour, which will continue across the US throughout August and September before he is scheduled to head to the UK and Canada. The tour will finish with a run of shows in Naples, Florida in December.

Country star Darius Rucker unexpectedly ends concert mid-set and admits he's 'never done this before'

Darius Rucker abruptly ended his concert mid-set over the past weekend in Atlantic City just three days after kicking off his tour. The Hootie & The Blowfish frontman, 59 - who shocked fans when he fell onto his face while on stage late last year - was in the middle of his performance on Saturday when he lost his voice. In a TikTok video taken by a concertgoer, Rucker could be seen addressing the crowd inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and devastatingly admitted, 'Y'all, I can't sing anymore.' The singer then expressed, 'I'm going to play one more song. I promise you, we are going to figure this out. You're going to get your money back. I just can't sing.' Darius told the audience that he has 'never done this before' and offered a promise that he will 'make this up to you.' 'This never happened. I physically can't sing, and I promise you on everything that I stand for I will make this up to you.' However, he still proceeded to perform his 2013 track Wagon Wheel - and his fans belted out the lyrcis in a heartfelt moment. Rucker further apologized to the audience for not being able to continue as he started to leave the stage. 'I promise you I will make this up to you. I promise you, we will figure this out and I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry.' Social media users jumped to the comment section of the TikTok clip to offer words of support to the singer. One penned, 'He looked so upset when he left the stage,' and another wrote, 'I feel so bad for him. Looked like his hands were shaking he was so upset. Prayers that he can overcome whatever it is.' 'I was there last night such an amazing moment having the audience sing to him,' a fan added. Another typed, 'He was so terribly upset. The people chanting "its ok!" And who sang for him during wagon wheel... I was there it was an epic whole[some] moment.' 'I'm so sorry.. My heart went out to him, he really felt devastated,' one commented. 'I hope and pray they do figure this out.. I pray for his good health.. compassion people, faith and kindness.' On Sunday, Darius gave an update about the incident by posting a message to his 1 million followers on his Instagram stories. He penned, 'Atlantic City, Thank you so much for coming out Saturday night. I feel awful and I'm so sorry - I have never lost my voice in all my years of performing. 'We looked at every option to reschedule, but unfortunately, it's just not possible this year, so we're issuing full refunds. The venue will send details to you directly.' In conclusion, the star added, 'Thank you so much for all your kind messages wishing me well. Love y'all and see you soon! Peace, Darius.' Following the incident, a representative for the star informed Fox News Digital that 'there is no further interruption in his touring schedule' and 'has been cleared to resume shows' after resting his voice. Rucker kicked off his tour on July 10 in Maryland - with his Atlantic City concert being just his third stop. He is slated to perform in Hollywood, Florida later this week on Saturday, July 19 and will take to the stage in other U.S. cities such as Tampa, Boise, Memphis, Las Vegas and Santa Barbara. The singer's international leg will begin on September 26 in the U.K. and will also travel to Canada. He is slated to perform in Hollywood, Florida later this week on Saturday, July 19 and will take to the stage in other U.S. cities such as Tampa, Boise, Memphis, Las Vegas and Santa Barbara The tour is set to conclude back in the U.S. on December 13 in Naples, Florida. Darius revealed the 45-date tour earlier this month and shared on Instagram: 'I've been waiting for this moment... we're back baby!! Can't wait to hear all of you singing!! What show are you going to?' Rucker is not the first singer to cancel or postpone concerts after having issues with their voice. Back in 2022, The Weeknd notably lost his voice during the first song of a performance at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Earlier this month, Kelly Clarkson canceled the opening two shows of her Las Vegas residency just minutes before showtime. The Because Of You hitmaker took to her Instagram just 90 minutes before and explained she was 'devastated' to postpone the concerts following grueling rehearsals. The Grammy winner further expressed that she needs 'to protect' her voice in order to prevent 'doing serious damage.' Last year in October, Rucker suffered another incident on stage while he was performing in South Carolina. The star had been in the midst of singing lyrics to the 2009 hit Alright at his annual curated Riverfront Revival when he suddenly fell flat onto his face. The moment was also filmed on camera by a fan in attendance and Darius seemingly tripped over a wire on stage. He humorously brushed off the accident by saying, 'I'm old as f***' and later added, 'We've been doing this all summer I hadn't fell once. But I busted my a** in my hometown.'

Marvin Vettori can't wait to hurt Brendan Allen at UFC 318: 'I don't like the guy'

UFC 318 is personal for Marvin Vettori. NEW ORLEANS – UFC 318 is not just any regular bout for Marvin Vettori. It's personal. "The Italian Dream" takes on bitter rival Brendan Allen on the preliminary card of Saturday's UFC pay-per-view event at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. Vettori (19-7-1 MMA, 9-6-1 UFC) and Allen (24-7 MMA, 12-4 UFC) have plenty of history, more infamously getting into a brawl on the casino floor of the Hard Rock Hotel in South Florida. "It is what it is. It's nothing," Vettori said at the UFC 318 media day on Wednesday, recalling his run-in with Allen. "I was kind of pissed because nothing really happened, and I haven't seen him since. He lives around there, but I don't see him. It's alright at the end of the day. It is what it is. But when you run your mouth, some people think nothing is going to happen. But if you run your mouth, you have to move differently because if I see you, it's on sight." Vettori didn't elaborate exactly elaborate on the root of their feud, but Allen claims it is because he was critical of one of his performances – comments he doesn't think warrant fighting each other outside a professional context. Yet, Vettori assures its personal between the two. "For sure, (it's personal)," Vettori said. "I definitely don't like the guy. I don't like the guy." Vettori enters UFC 318 on the back of a personal tragedy. In April, Vettori's brother passed in a house fire. Understandably so, it's not something the former UFC title challenger expects to ever get over, but he wanted to return to UFC 318 to honor his brother and be an example for others. "You're never going to get over something like that, but you have to do something purposeful and meaningful and something that gets you going in the morning, and you know, be an example of resilience for him and for everybody around me," Vettori said. "I feel like at this time, this is what I was put to do, so I'm going to keep doing for that. Physically, I'm good, and I just can't' wait to get into the cage and hurt him."
