Browns rookie changing positions in training camp?
The Cleveland Browns have one of the most discussed quarterback battles in the NFL currently taking place, as Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders all compete for the starting job. And while the latter two rookies are garnering a lot of attention, there is another first-year player who could make a huge impact that is flying under the radar. Tight end Harold Fannin had an incredible 2024 season. The Bowling Green product led the nation with 117 receptions and 1,555 yards. In addition, he scored 10 touchdowns. And while he is a tight end, the Browns reportedly view him more as a receiver than anything. "I think for [the Browns], the way they've always talked about Harold Fannin to me is just like another big receiver," Ashley Bastock of says. Fannin has been somewhat forgotten by those who ask who Cleveland's No. 2 target could be - why can't it be him? If they wanted to move him to receiver, he'd likely thrive in the roll, and he could rotate between being a big power slot pass-catcher and be put on the boundary at times, as well. A full position change may not come, but the utilization of Fannin all over the offense very well could. Who picked Bowling Green TE Harold Fannin in the NFL draft?
Who picked Bowling Green TE Harold Fannin in the NFL draft? The Cleveland Browns selected Bowling Green tight end Harold Fannin with the 67th overall pick in the third round of NFL draft on Friday night. Fannin (6-3, 241 pounds) was a big target at Bowling Green, where he played three seasons. In a deep tight end class, Fannin is from a non-Power 4 conference, a rarity in this draft and in the NIL era of collegiate sports. In 2022-23, Fannin caught 63 passes for 904 yards and seven touchdowns. He also added 24 rushing attempts for 94 yards and four touchdowns. Fannin had a breakout 2024 season, when he caught a MAC conference-topping 117 passes for 1,555 yards and 10 touchdowns. He added nine rushes for 65 yards and one touchdown. His season netted him 2024 Consensus All-American honors, 2024 MAC Player of the Year and the MAC's MVP award. Fannin participated in the 2025 NFL combine, where he posted a 4.71 40-yard dash, 34-inch vertical jump, and a 9-foot 10-inch broad jump. Fannin is a projected third or fourth-round pick in the NFL draft, according to Lance Zierlein, but is rated the seventh-best tight end according to Draft Wire's Curt Popejoy. Fannin would provide an enticing target for any quarterback, or any offense in the NFL.

Broncos spoke with impressive tight end prospect at the Senior Bowl
The Denver Broncos spoke with Bowling Green tight end Harold Fannin at the Senior Bowl in Alabama last month, according to Cecil Lammey. Fannin (6-4, 230 pounds) led the National Team with four catches for 25 yards in the Senior Bowl on Feb. 1. He came into the all-star game after a massive junior year in which he totaled 117 receptions for 1,555 yards and 10 touchdowns with the Bowling Green Falcons. Fannin earned consensus All-American honors last fall and he was named the Mid-American Conference's MVP and Offensive Player of the Year. Fannin also received first-team All-MAC honors after the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Before his breakout season last fall, Fannin totaled 44 receptions for 623 yards and six touchdowns in 2023 and 19 catches for 218 yards and one touchdown in 2022. The Falcons lost to the Arkansas State Red Wolves 38-31 in the 68 Ventures Bowl in December, but Fannin took home the game's MVP award after hauling in 17 receptions for 213 yards and a touchdown. Mock drafts have Fannin currently projected as a second-round pick. The Broncos hold seven picks, including No. 51 overall in the second round. The 2025 NFL draft will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin from April 24-26.
