Katie Price reveals son Harvey, 23, is 'coming home for good' and entering the 'real world' after struggling to find him a place at specialist college due to funding cuts and her bankruptcy
Katie Price has revealed her eldest son Harvey is 'coming home for good' this week, after she struggled to secure him a place at a residential college amid cuts to council funding and her bankruptcy. The former glamour model, 47, explained that the 23-year-old will begin 'independent living' in a new place that is nearer to her home in Sussex, after previously lamenting the long distance between them. Harvey is blind, autistic, has septo-optic dysplasia, a learning disability and is one of the 2,000 people in the UK with Prader-Willi syndrome, a genetic disorder. He had been living at £350,000-a-year specialist institution National Star since 2021, but amid cuts to funding and Katie's financial woes, he was withdrawn last year. Since then, she has had a difficult time trying find him a new place, with one care home calling him 'too difficult' and the West Sussex County Council slashing his funding. But, speaking on her podcast, The Katie Price Show, last week, the mother-of-five revealed that Harvey is now leaving his college and heading out into the 'real world'. The former glamour model, 47, explained that the 23-year-old will begin 'independent living' in a new place that is nearer to her home in Sussex, after previously lamenting the long distance between them Katie said: 'Harvey is doing the countdown for his new place. He's got his leavers ceremony where they give out certificates and then it's the "real world" Mr Harvey Price.' She explained that he was going first to a temporary accommodation, before beginning his new placement in Littlehampton in October. She said: 'I've found him a place in Southampton which is temporary. It's got five other adults in it. 'Then he moves to his place in October, which is Littlehampton, which will be nearer to me. He's going from college to independent living.' The TV personality also took to her Facebook page to reveal her excitement over the move, sharing a sweet photo of her and Harvey cuddling during a visit to see him at college. She captioned the heartwarming snap: 'Reunited with my baby bear. Harvey's coming home for good in 12 days'. While on Tuesday, she shared another shot of her giving him a kiss and gushed: 'Love you so much Harv, not long now' with the hashtags '#soproudofyou #familytime # newbeginningsahead'. Katie got candid on her podcast as she detailed what a difficult undertaking it had been trying to get Harvey into a new institution for months on end, since she was forced to withdraw him from National Star. The TV personality also took to her Facebook page to reveal her excitement over the move, sharing a sweet photo of her and Harvey cuddling during a visit to see him at college On Tuesday, she shared another shot of her giving him a kiss and gushed: 'Love you so much Harv, not long now' with the hashtags '#soproudofyou #familytime # newbeginningsahead' Though he later returned to school, she was hit by another hurdle in February when he lost a place at a care home for being 'too difficult'. At the time she explained how Harvey had lost his place weeks before the move after management changed and they determined that they couldn't cater for his needs. Reflecting on the tough journey, she said: 'We worked months and months for that and he was told four-and-a-half weeks before that he couldn't go there, and Harvey has been doing the countdown. 'Well it's stressful because you want the right thing for your child and it is a lot of time and effort to go back and do more meetings, more forms, it is very time-consuming because you want the best for your child.' Katie has also frequently stressed the challenges of Harvey being placed a long distance away from her and admitted that he often became upset and wanted to return home. In April, she detailed their 'difficult and upsetting' journey back to the college, after Harvey became so distraught at having to return that he lashed out in the car. Taking to Snapchat after the move, she admitted she was 'heartbroken' to see her son so upset, telling her followers she hoped to be able to move him to a branch closer to her new family home in Sussex after leaving her Mucky Mansion. She said: 'Now that was very difficult, it was really upsetting. Harvey just did not want to go back to college. I'm surprised I've still got a car left. He was literally gonna go for the car. Katie has also frequently stressed the challenges of Harvey being placed a long distance away from her and admitted that he often became upset and wanted to return home 'It is so sad when your son just doesn't wanna go to college and just wants to be with you all the time. 'That's why I can't wait for him to come home near us but the place we have got for him is not ready yet, maybe in May. So yeah, it is heartbreaking.' In July last year, she revealed that the local authority had cut Harvey's funding because he has 'no healthcare issues', with an assessor concluding that he 'only needs social care'. Katie - who was declared bankrupt for a second time last year over an unpaid tax bill worth more than £750,000 - has been trying to secure funding to extend Harvey's time at National Star for another year. Speaking on her The Katie Price Show podcast last year, the reality star admitted : 'I'm having a nightmare at the minute. 'We were looking for him to stay at his college another year or if not a placement, but [the local authority] haven't accepted it. 'They've given me three months that he has to find somewhere else by July. With someone like Harvey you need the transitional move, you need to do it slow.' Katie was Harvey's primary caregiver until he turned 19, and in 2021 filmed his move into National Star College as part of BBC documentary Katie Price: Harvey and Me. His biological father is former footballer Dwight York, who briefly dated Katie in 2001, before breaking up soon after she fell pregnant with Harvey.

This is what I weigh. That. That is what I weigh." The podcaster previously tried to shut down fears over her weight loss, saying she decided to slim down after a long-standing foot injury and attempts at IVF made her put on weight. Speaking on her Snapchat in May, Katie said: "Yes I've lost weight. "Yes that what I've wanted to do, I've wanted to lose weight. "Because the past three, four years ago when I broke my feet and I was in a wheelchair for 10 months because they said I'd never walk again, and obviously you put weight on being in a wheelchair. "And then I did all the IVF stuff, that also puts on weight. "So yeah I did put on weight and I hated it, I felt uncomfortable and it wasn't me." She then explained how, after finishing her failed IVF treatment, she became more active with healthy eating. "Everyone is talking about it - it's driving me mad," she said. KATIE Price has opened up about her son Harvey's future after being "kicked out" of his £350k a year college. Harvey, 22, was born with ADHD, autism, genetic condition Prader-Willi Syndrome, and septo-optic dysplasia, which causes blindness. 3 3 He was previously accepted into a £350,000-a-year residential college, but in February Harvey was kicked out for being "too difficult". Now former glamour model Katie, 47, has revealed her eldest child will be leaving college this month and going into independent living. Katie said: "Harvey is doing the countdown for his new place. "He's got his leavers ceremony where they give out certificates and then it's the 'real world' Mr Harvey Price." The mum-of-five continued on the Katie Price Show podcast: "I've found him a place in Southampton which is temporary. "It's got five other adults in it. "Then he moves to his place in October, which is Little Hampton, which will be nearer to be. "He's going from college to independent living." The 21-year-old has Prader-Willi Syndrome, a complex condition that causes obesity and learning difficulties. He is also autistic and partially blind. Katie previously said: "Harvey is supposed to be moving in four-and-a-half weeks, they've changed management and said they won't be able to cater for Harv, because he's too difficult. "So now I've got to find another placement for him... so yeah, more drama to deal with." Later in the show, she said: "We worked months and months for that and he was told four-and-a-half weeks before that he couldn't go there, and Harvey has been doing the countdown. "Well it's stressful because you want the right thing for your child and it is a lot of time and effort to go back and do more meetings, more forms, it is very time-consuming because you want the best for your child." Finding the right care for Harvey has been a constant issue for Katie since her eldest reached adulthood. Last year she had another run-in with a local authority over a place at a specialist college after a report allegedly found Harvey to have "no health issues". His time at £350,000-a-year National Star College, Gloucestershire came under threat as a result. Twice-bankrupt Katie, who lived three hours away in Horsham, West Sussex, appealed the decision. Speaking on an episode of her podcast last spring, she said: "They've given me three months - he has to find somewhere else by July. "With someone like Harvey, you need a transitional move, you need to do it slowly." She added: "I'm trying to find somewhere nearer for Harvey, but three months isn't a long time." What is Prader-Willi syndrome? PWS is a genetic condition that can impact muscle tone, sexual development and the function of the nervous system. As well as this, those with Prader-Willi syndrome are more likely to have learning difficulties. Often, it also sparks a constant desire to eat food and a permanent feeling of hunger which leads to child obesity. However, the syndrome is very rare, with the NHS estimating that it affects "no more than one in every 15,000 children born in England". What causes Prader-Willi syndrome? Those with PWS have a genetic defect on chromosome number 15. In around 70 per cent of cases, some of the DNA information that's inherited from the father is missing, which is referred to as "paternal deletion". Other cases occur when a child has two copies from their mother and none from their father. The condition is obtained purely by chance, but those who have one child with PWS have a less than 1 per cent chance of the next one being affected. 3

While another added: "Bake it from scratch Katie. You can make one much healthier than from that cake mix, and use real butter not spread." This one said: "Wouldn't it have been healthier for Harvey if you'd made it from scratch." Another chimed in: "You moan about his weight but feed him cake." The TV personality's eldest child has Prader-Willi syndrome, which sparks a constant desire to eat food and a permanent feeling of hunger which leads to obesity. 4 Harvey battles a series of debilitating conditions including autism, septo-optic dysplasia, ADHD and oppositional defiant disorder. In a video posted in April, Katie revealed: 'I'm so heartbroken and gutted that his weight is just going up. 'I just googled it in stones, 188kg is just a few kg of being 30 stone. 'It's so life-threatening now, I'm still waiting for the doctors to get back to me starting on the Mounjaro and his journey to a healthy life.' She continued: 'It's so sad his quality of life at the moment where he's so big, he just can't really do much. 'It's just another thing I have to deal with because he's at high risk of having a heart attack, he struggles to put his trainers or struggles to walk anywhere but I love him and I'm going to help him through this. 'So sad, obesity and his condition is sad, it's sad to see someone go through it and he doesn't understand.' In February Katie told The Sun she consulted top doctors who suggested starting Harvey on the jabs in a bid to improve his chances of living longer. Harvey's biological dad is former footballer Dwight, 53, dated for a short period between 2000 and 2001, but split shortly after Katie told him she was pregnant. Everything you need to know about fat jabs Weight loss jabs are all the rage as studies and patient stories reveal they help people shed flab at almost unbelievable rates, as well as appearing to reduce the risk of serious diseases. Wegovy – a modified version of type 2 diabetes drug Ozempic – and Mounjaro are the leading weight loss injections used in the UK. Wegovy, real name semaglutide, has been used on the NHS for years while Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a newer and more powerful addition to the market. Mounjaro accounts for most private prescriptions for weight loss and is set to join Wegovy as an NHS staple this year. How do they work? The jabs work by suppressing your appetite, making you eat less so your body burns fat for energy instead and you lose weight. They do this my mimicking a hormone called GLP-1, which signals to the brain when the stomach is full, so the drugs are officially called GLP-1 receptor agonists. They slow down digestion and increase insulin production, lowering blood sugar, which is why they were first developed to treat type 2 diabetes in which patients' sugar levels are too high. Can I get them? NHS prescriptions of weight loss drugs, mainly Wegovy and an older version called Saxenda (chemical name liraglutide), are controlled through specialist weight loss clinics. Typically a patient will have to have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, classifying them as medically obese, and also have a weight-related health condition such as high blood pressure. GPs generally do not prescribe the drugs for weight loss. Private prescribers offer the jabs, most commonly Mounjaro, to anyone who is obese (BMI of 30+) or overweight (BMI 25-30) with a weight-related health risk. Private pharmacies have been rapped for handing them out too easily and video calls or face-to-face appointments are now mandatory to check a patient is being truthful about their size and health. Are there any risks? Yes – side effects are common but most are relatively mild. Around half of people taking the drug experience gut issues, including sickness, bloating, acid reflux, constipation and diarrhoea. Dr Sarah Jarvis, GP and clinical consultant at said: 'One of the more uncommon side effects is severe acute pancreatitis, which is extremely painful and happens to one in 500 people.' Other uncommon side effects include altered taste, kidney problems, allergic reactions, gallbladder problems and hypoglycemia. Evidence has so far been inconclusive about whether the injections are damaging to patients' mental health. Figures obtained by The Sun show that, up to January 2025, 85 patient deaths in the UK were suspected to be linked to the medicines.

Katie Price sends Harvey back to college early after he smashes her £3k TV
KATIE Price has revealed that she has sent her son Harvey back to his college early after he caused damage to her TV. The mum-of-five revealed her shock at discovering that Harvey had become frustrated and smashed up her huge £3,000 television in the living room of her property. 3 3 Katie documented the discovery on her Snapchat account before giving Harvey a dressing down for his actions and also confirming that she would be returning him to his college a day early as a result of his behaviour. The former glamour model uploaded a video in which she filmed Harvey's face and questioned him on his actions. She revealed she was woken up by him smashing the TV at around six in the morning. She asked him: "What has mummy just heard?" Harvey calmly replied: "Smashing the TV." When she went on to ask him why he did it, Harvey appeared to answer that it had angered him as it was early in the morning. Katie later told her fans that he told her off-camera that he did not like what was on the screen but she appeared to rebuff this suggestions as she could be sure that there was nothing being shown. In the clip of her speaking to Harvey, she added: "You was going to college tomorrow to get some new meds [medication], but now when are you going? "You are going now." Harvey replied to this news by saying: "Oh god!" Katie insisted she had to spend the day getting a new TV and as such needed to send Harvey back to college before branding the whole ordeal as "sad". Harvey went on to apologise as he insisted he "would not do it again". Katie replied: "Well you've got to go to collage now and get some meds." Her decision for Harvey to go back to collage comes after she revealed that her 22-year-old son was due to start weight loss injections in order to control his ballooning weight.
