Kieran Tierney returned from Arsenal, with Ross Doohan re-joining the club from Aberdeen. Benji Nygren joined from Nordsjaelland while Brendan Rodgers also snapped-up young striker Callum Osmand from Fulham. The Hoops' two latest signings have seen them delve back into a market that's served them well in recent years. Advertisement Having had great success signing players such as Kyogo Furuhashi, Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate from Japan, Celtic have landed two new recruits from the Defender Hayato Inamura arrived from Albirex Niigata and has been impressing in pre-season. And last week, the Celts landed striker Shin Yamada in a £1.5million deal from Kawasaki Frontale. Neither player has had much time to adapt to life in Glasgow just yet. Advertisement Inamura arrived just before the Hoops headed-off on their travels, first to the Republic of Ireland and then to Portugal. Yamada joined last week and was presented before the crowd at Celtic Park on Saturday during the 4-0 win over Newcastle. La Lanterna West End have shared an image of the restaurant manager alongside THREE Hoops stars. Yamada and Inamura both made the trip to the venue along with new Celtic teammate Reo Hatate. The Italian restaurant posted: "When the best in Scotland welcomes the best in Japan!" Advertisement The Great Western Road spot has become a huge favourite of Glasgow's football stars, with both Celtic and Rangers heroes regularly spotted there. Rangers ace Nicolas Raskin is a recent visitor to the restaurant while Ibrox legend Allan McGregor was also spotted enjoying a meal a few months back. Current Celtic stars Kasper Schmeichel, Jota and Daizen Maeda have also dined there previously while it was a favourite of former Hoops goalkeeper Joe Hart too. Japanese defender Hayato Inamura's move to Celtic appears to have moved a step closer to completion after Albirex Niigata confirmed that he is on the brink of a transfer to an overseas club. Inamura emerged as a transfer target for Celtic earlier this month and the 23-year-old, who can operate as either a centre-half or a left- back, is now set to join the Scottish champions. He has made 16 appearances so far and despite being contracted until the summer of 2027, his club have resigned themselves to losing the player. An Albirex Niigata spokesperson wrote: 'We would like to inform you that Hayato Inamura (23), a member of our club, left the team on June 29th in order to complete the necessary procedures and preparations for a transfer to an overseas club. We will notify you of Inamura's future once an official decision has been made.' Should Inamura - as expected - complete his move to Celtic, he would become manager Brendan Rodgers' fourth signing of the current transfer window. Goalkeeper Ross Doohan, defender Kieran Tierney and winger Benjamin Nygren have all been signed ahead of the upcoming campaign, with more arrivals to follow. But, a polished 45-minute debut show in the Cork Super Cup victory over Cork City jolted the Hoops manager into a dramatic re-think. Now, Inamura looks set to be handed the chance to be cover for returning left-back Kieran Tierney who looks poised for a second Celtic bow in Saturday's latest warm-up game against Estrela da Amadora in Lisbon. Asked directly if Inamura's performance had made him reconsider, Rodgers confessed: '100-per-cent. I'm not fixed on it. 'The plan was to bring him in, see how he does pre-season, thinking that he may need to get out and play. 'But I always judge players on the pre-season, on how they look and are they going to be capable. 'He's certainly in the few days training, he's shown he's so smooth with the ball. Not only that, he plays forward. 'I've got to say, he surprised me. 'In these first days training, he's so competent with the ball. He's a good size. "His comfort on the ball, his willingness to attack is really good. So we'll see how he looks over the remaining games.' I'm really excited by him, he's a forward thinking player, he's got good legs, gets about the pitch and he's showed up well since he's come in. 'Kieran was fantastic in my first time here. He's gone away and gained a lot of experience and maturity. 'We also want to manage him because he's had a lot of troubles in his fitness history over the last few years. Meanwhile, with a fitness update on rehab duo Cameron Carter-Vickers and Reo Hatate, the Celts boss added: 'Reo is fine. He's been training since he's come back and looked really good. New signing Hayato Inamura featured as Celtic defeated Cork City 2-1 in a pre-season 23, started at left-back at Pairc Ui Chaoimh, in a side that featured first-team regulars Arne Engels, James Forrest, Callum McGregor and Auston Trusty, with Viljami Sinisalo in McCowan struck the Celtic opener in the first half but Matthew Murray levelled for Cork after the break. Colby Donovan headed a late Celtic who beat hosts Queen's Park 1-0 last week, continue their pre-season programme in Portugal with games against Estrela da Amadora (Saturday) and Sporting (next Wednesday).
