2026 4-star QB and Texas A&M commit invited to Rivals Five-star event

Texas A&M's quarterback future, like that of most major programs, is cyclical due to the transfer portal. However, under coach Mike Elko, the Aggies will return 70% of the 2024 offense this coming season, led by starting quarterback Marcel Reed. Still, Reed is entering a "make or break" season that will affect his future as the starter. In Texas A&M's 2026 signing class, Elko and OC Collin Klein landed one of the top arms in the cycle out of Utah, as four-star QB Helaman Casuga likely represents the Aggies' starting quarterback for the future, especially after 2025 five-star wide receiver signee Jerome Myles was his No. 1 receiving target at Corner Canyon High School in Draper, Utah. Advertisement Casuga's elite accuracy and tough overtakes any concerns about his 6'1" frame, which is usually the cut off for most successful quarterbacks at the next level. While I could sing his praises throughout this article, Casuga has reportedly been invited to the prestigious Rivals Five-Star event in Indianapolis, Indiana, which features 100 of the top-ranked prospects in the 2026 recruiting class, set to take place on June 23-24. Casuga has been on the rise ever since his productive freshman and sophomore seasons, during which he showcased his arm talent, passing for 6,475 yards and 60 touchdowns, before missing the latter half of his 2024 junior season. Casuga's play-making ability is a perfect fit in current Texas A&M OC Collin Klein's scheme, and if Marcel Reed improves in the pocket this coming season, expect a balanced attack that could lead the SEC in scoring and provide momentum for the future. According to Rivals, Casuga is currently positioned as the 104th-ranked prospect in the 2026 cycle, the 11th-ranked quarterback, and the No. 1-ranked prospect in Utah. 2026 4-star QB and Texas A&M commit named On3's Elite 11 Day 2 MVP

Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class is headlined by the highest-ranked prospect in the cycle, four-star running back KJ Edwards. Still, one of the more intriguing commits has made headlines this week, as four-star quarterback Helaman Casuga has been one of the top performers during this week's On3 Elite 11 competition, and was named Day 2's MVP after completing 18/20 passes on the night. Casuga was one of Texas A&M's priority prospects for OC Collin Klein, who saw his potential before most programs, and now they are looking to flip the standout Utah-based signal caller heading into the fall. However, Casuga's pledge with the Aggies, like the rest of the 17 commits in the cycle, remains strong, as he is coming off his official visit to College Station on June 5. Advertisement Casuga's next-level arm talent was on full display this week. After losing 2025 five-star Husan Longstreet to USC late last fall, coach Mike Elko and Klein believe that Casuga is the answer as the program's next starting signal caller, which is only surprising to those who have not watched this young man play. Here's what On3's Director of Scouting and Recruiting, Charles Power, had to say regarding Casuga's performance during the second day of the Elite 11 event. "A very good performance on Night 2 from Texas A&M four-star commit Helaman Casuga, who finishes 18 of 20 on target to tie Jett Thomalla. A very clean pro day session. His footwork and timing was crisp and he consistently delivered catchable passes. The downfield arm strength may not overwhelm, but the zip was nice towards the intermediate areas." Casuga's arm isn't considered the strongest in the 2026 cycle. Still, his quick release and elite touch make him a perfect fit in Collin Klein's system, which emphasizes short to intermediate passes. During his first two seasons, Casuga passed for 6,475 yards and 60 touchdowns, and if/when he signs with the Aggies, he will reunite with his former No. 1 wide receiver, Jerome Myles, Texas A&M's top 2025 signee. Texas A&M commit and 2026 4-star WR invited to Rivals Five-Star event

Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class is chock-full of talent at every position. Over the past week, two of the program's elite commits, four-star quarterback Helaman Casuga and four-star edge rusher Jordan Carter, have been invited to the annual Rivals Five-Star event in Indianapolis, Indiana, which now features the Aggies' top-ranked wide receiver commit. On Friday, it was revealed that 2024 four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory has become the newest A&M commit to be invited to the event of the summer, showcasing his elite talent. This is highly unsurprising, given his impressive play this summer during various camps, where he demonstrated his elite route-running and improved downfield speed. Advertisement Earlier this month, running back Jonathan Hatton and tight end Caleb Tafua, along with Gregory, shut down their recruitment and will sign with the program as soon as Early Signing Day on December 4. During his 2024 junior season at Douglas County HS, Gregory reeled in 53 receptions for 914 yards and nine touchdowns after recording 795 yards and eight touchdowns during the previous season. Gregory's ability to quickly separate in coverage and make plays after the catch is similar to former A&M wideout and current Oregon standout Evan Stewart. As soon as Gregory steps on campus, the Georgia native has a chance to climb up the 2026 depth chart as a third or fourth option during his freshman season. The Texas-Texas A&M Rivalry Doesn't Stand in the Way of These Two Future SEC Quarterbacks Dia Bell and Helaman Casuga

The Texas-Texas A&M Rivalry Doesn't Stand in the Way of These Two Future SEC Quarterbacks Dia Bell and Helaman Casuga originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The in-state Texas-Texas A&M rivalry isn't a cause for concern for these two class of 2026 quarterbacks. At the Elite 11 Finals, the Longhorn and Aggie quarterbacks represented their soon-to-be teams with top tier performances and respect. Texas A&M Aggies head coach Mike Elko and Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Lysaker-Imagn Images Four-star Helaman Casuga and five-star Dia Bell were standouts at the Elite 11 Finals. Casuga, who's committed to Texas A&M was honored as the MVP on day two of the event and was named the "most consistent" overall. Bell, the Texas commit, was honored as MVP on day three and was named as having the "best mechanics" overall. Beyond skill, though, the two future SEC quarterbacks showed their character at the Elite 11 Finals. Advertisement The future rivalry between the Longhorns and Aggies didn't affect them or get into their heads. Rather, the two developed a friendship at the event and continued supporting one another. "We're out here to compete, we're out here to show why we feel like we are the best and we're out here to just have a great time and connect with each other and hopefully build lifelong connections," Bell said. The only thing that mattered was encouraging each other during workouts and spending time warming up together. At the end of the Elite 11, their sportsmanship shone through as well as their talents. "I don't even think about him going to Texas ... I probably have the best connection with him out of everybody," Casuga said. "... He's a great competitor. Shoutout to [Bell]. Always working, always making sure that I'm pushing myself, and I do the same for him." Advertisement While all the participants at the Elite 11 Finals are going to high-end schools and may face each other down the line on the NCAA field, the event is a place to foster lifelong connections that surpass rivalries, records, and final scores. "Hopefully we don't have a lot of contention going off to college and we can still be boys," Casuga said. "That's my guy." Texas A&M Quarterback Recruit Helaman Casuga Makes Waves at Elite 11 Finals and Sets Himself Apart With Five Touchdowns

Texas A&M Quarterback Recruit Helaman Casuga Makes Waves at Elite 11 Finals and Sets Himself Apart With Five Touchdowns originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Texas A&M Aggies have the No. 2 class of 2026 recruitment class with 18 players, including recent commitment and five-star Brandon Arrington, 11 four-stars, and six three-stars. Advertisement On Wednesday, day two of the 2025 Elite 11 Finals, quarterbacks went through workouts similar to those at the NFL Combine and an accuracy challenge. The following day, each signal-caller goes through a live 7-on-7 with skill players. Of head coach Mike Elko's four-stars, one quarterback shined through at the Elite 11. Texas A&M Aggies head coach Mike Elko reacting Lysaker/Imagn Images A top 200 recruit from the class of 2026, Helaman Casuga, had an MVP-level performance at the Elite 11 Finals. He was recognized with this honor after an impressive five-touchdown afternoon. Charles Power of On3 wrote in response to Casuga's performance: "Four-star [Casuga] was aggressive in going downfield. Showed quality touch and timing with his receivers. Had a few misfires, but overall a solid session headlined by his five scores." Among the other quarterbacks at the event, like five-stars Keisean Henderson and Dia Bell, a standout performance from the Texas A&M commit improves Elko's opportunities to land top wide receivers. Advertisement As Steve Wiltfong posted on X, receivers like Ethan "Boobie" Feaster and Jase Mathews will be important for Elko to draw in with the help of his four-star's Elite 11 showing. Both Feaster and Mathews have yet to declare their commitments, but have the Aggies in their top schools. Feaster will decide between Alabama, USC, and Texas A&M on July 4. Currently in the running for Mathews are LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Colorado, and Texas A&M. While Casuga is still with the Aggies, his commitment is still up in the air to be flipped. Keeping the rising senior committed should be a top priority for Elko and his staff, especially considering his representation at the Elite 11 Finals. If Casuga were to decommit and go elsewhere for his NCAA career, the No. 2 recruitment leader may have struggles moving forward.
