OnePlus Pad Lite said to launch in India soon, likely at an affordable price
OnePlus seems to be preparing to expand its tablet lineup in India with a new budget offering called the OnePlus Pad Lite. According to the latest leaks, this new device could be the successor to the OnePlus Pad Go, which was launched in 2023. So far, OnePlus has focused on premium tablets under the OnePlus Pad series, while the more affordable Pad Go has remained the company's only budget model. Now, it looks like OnePlus is ready to refresh this category with a new name and possibly better Pad Lite: Why is OnePlus changing the name?Instead of launching a OnePlus Pad Go 2 version, OnePlus appears to be changing the name of its entry-level tablet to Pad Lite. This change could be a part of the brand's strategy to make the lineup easier to understand. The "Lite" tag clearly suggests a more affordable and basic version of the main Pad series, which could help attract more budget-conscious buyers. While the company hasn't officially confirmed this yet, design details and specifications of the upcoming OnePlus tablet have surfaced online through a report by 91Mobiles and tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (OnLeaks).OnePlus Pad Lite: Leaked design, specsThe report suggests that the OnePlus Pad Lite will borrow its design from the earlier OnePlus Pad Go, rather than the more premium Pad 3. It features a similar form factor and size, which points towards OnePlus retaining the basics while making a few tweaks under the hood. The Pad Lite is said to measure 254.9 x 166.5 x 7.4mm and weigh about 539 grams, almost the same as the Pad Go. So, users can expect a familiar design and handling In terms of display, the Pad Lite may come with an 11-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 90Hz. This is slightly smaller than the 11.35-inch screen offered on the Pad Go, and the resolution is also a bit lower. Still, for basic browsing, video streaming, and light work, it is expected to do the job without any major the hood, the Pad Lite is tipped to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G100 chipset. This chip is a minor upgrade over the Helio G99 that powered the Pad Go. Both processors are built on a 6nm process and feature the same core setup, two Cortex-A76 performance cores at 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at 2.0GHz. The Helio G100 is a tad better on paper because of it having higher camera resolution support of 200 megapixels. Although, since both are budget tablets with similar chipsets, the higher camera resolution support on the Pad Lite won't make much difference in real-world use. Performance is expected to be identical. If the Pad Go sees a price cut after the Lite's launch, it might offer better value, unless OnePlus discontinues it. However, as the company hasn't confirmed any details yet, it is best to take the leaks with a pinch of upcoming OnePlus Pad Lite is likely to ship with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, although there could be other variants with more or less memory. There is no mention of whether the storage will be expandable, but given that the Pad Go supported microSD cards, it's possible the Lite will as area where the Pad Lite might have a clear advantage is battery life. The device is said to include a large 9,340mAh battery, which is a noticeable increase from the Pad Go's 8,000mAh unit. This should offer longer usage on a single charge compared to its the cameras might see a downgrade. Leaks suggest that the Pad Lite will feature 5-megapixel sensors on both the front and rear, compared to the Pad Go's 8-megapixel cameras. For most users, though, this won't be a major drawback since tablet cameras are rarely used for high-quality Pad Lite: Expected price in IndiaThe tablet is expected to be available in Aero Blue and come with a folio cover in the box. There's no word yet on the exact launch date or price, but the Pad Lite could be priced under Rs 20,000 in India. For reference, the OnePlus Pad Go launched at Rs 19,999. Since the Lite version shares many of the same components and doesn't bring major performance upgrades, OnePlus is likely to keep the pricing in the same range.

Redmi Pad 2 pricing leaks through retailer listings
Earlier this month we caught our first glimpse of the upcoming Redmi Pad 2, the successor to the original Redmi Pad from 2022 - this one has definitely been a (very) long time coming. Today its pricing has been outed through a number of retailer listings in Europe. These show that the Redmi Pad 2 will go for €199 with 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and Wi-Fi connectivity. That's the base model. Redmi Pad 2 European retailer listings If you want 4G access too, it looks like you'll need to pay €299, but that version also gets you 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, both of which sound much more manageable in 2025 than the 4/128GB combo. The listings show a Mint Green colorway as well as a gray-ish/black one, and we assume those will be the only versions. All of them mention that the tablet is powered by MediaTek's Helio G100 SoC, it has a 9,000 mAh battery, and an 11-inch IPS LCD screen with "2.5K" resolution, 90 Hz refresh rate, and 600-nit peak brightness. Camera-wise there will be an 8 MP rear shooter and a 5 MP front-facing one. The tablet will support 18W wired charging but won't ship with a charger in the box in Europe. Via
