St Helier primary school defaced with swastika graffiti
A swastika has been daubed on the door of a primary school in St said they started to receive "numerous" reports of areas in the town that had been vandalised with offensive Nazi symbolism from 07:30 said a swastika was spray-painted onto the door of Helvetia Primary School and there had also been vandalism in parts of West Park and People's Park, with buildings, doors and vehicles daubed with said officers attended where possible and they appealed for anyone with information - particularly CCTV footage - to come forward and speak to them.
'No place for hate'
Chief Minister Deputy Lyndon Farnham said he was "deeply disturbed" by the graffiti."These acts do not reflect who we are as a community and I condemn them in the strongest possible terms," he said."Jersey is an inclusive, tolerant and respectful society. There is no place here for messages of hate or division."Mr Farnham said the graffiti was a "cowardly and destructive act".He added: "Now more than ever, we must stand together as a community, united in our diversity and proud of the strength it brings. "Let us respond with resolve to protect and uphold the inclusive spirit that defines our island."The Infrastructure and Environment team has been notified and it said the graffiti would be removed.
