HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Despite some some scattered showers in the forecast, Henderson residents can still enjoy a weekend of food, music and rides as the Henderson Breakfast Lions Club Tri-Fest returns to the riverfront.
The event started off at 11 a.m. on Friday with the opening of food booths and carnival rides, and will continue through Sunday at 5 p.m.. Proceeds raised during the event will be used to provide grants to local nonprofits.

'To date, we have given away over 600,000 in grant funds,' said Laura Freeman, the Secretary for the Henderson Breakfast Lions Club. 'We're hoping that we get to give over 800,000. That's the goal right now for this year.'
During an interview with Freeman, she discussed the schedule of events for the weekend in Henderson, and said the club was hopeful that the weather would clear up despite a rainy start.
'We are praying for some good weather. It always seems like we have a little bit of rain every year, so hopefully it will be just a little bit of rain on Friday and then it will be fine for the rest of the weekend.'
