Sabrina Carpenter Puts Feud Rumors to Rest at Olivia Rodrigo Concert

THE RUNDOWN On Friday, Sabrina Carpenter was seen supporting Olivia Rodrigo at her BST Hyde Park concert in London. Rodrigo was headlining the event and Carpenter could be seen enjoying the music from the VIP section. Both pop stars formerly dated actor Joshua Bassett, leading to longstanding rumors of feuding or competition beginning around 2021, but it seems obvious that both Carpenter and Rodrigo have moved on. Carpenter can be seen in photos shared by the Daily Mail wearing a semi-sheer white baby doll dress and a pair of black-framed glasses. Over one shoulder she wore a red purse and was holding a glass of wine, smiling widely during the show. On stage, Rodrigo wore a black bodysuit with large torso cutouts covered in silver fringe with a pair of black boots. She was later joined on stage by Ed Sheeran. Bassett is rumored to be the subject of Rodrigo's 2021 hit song 'Driver's License,' after they dated while filming the popular show High School Musical: The Musical: The Series in 2019. In 2020, Carpenter and Bassett were romantically linked, but they supposedly split in 2021. In her song, Rodrigo sings about 'that blonde girl' who 'made [her] doubt' the relationship. Rodrigo is now dating actor Louis Partridge, who she was first seen with in late 2023. Carpenter has since been linked to Shawn Mendes and Barry Keoghan, and is now supposedly single. In a 2024 interview with ELLE, Partridge dodged a question about whether Rodrigo's song 'So American' was about him, joking, 'Not my song, not my place. So I wouldn't know.' He did share, 'My girlfriend has been trying to get me into more pop recently—Chappell Roan has been on repeat.' He also said that he sees himself as a golden retriever boyfriend type. 'I think in past relationships my mind worked at a different speed to the women I've known,' he said. 'A bit slower. The way I would characterize it is like a Golden Retriever and a black cat. I can imagine being happy sitting and catching a Frisbee.'

Gig review: Olivia Rodrigo's gutsy performance sends 40,000 Irish fans wild

Olivia Rodrigo sure knows how to animate a crowd, and her mesmerising show at Dublin's Marlay Park on Tuesday night was no exception. Rodrigo first gained recognition for her leading roles in the Disney series Bizaardvark and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series , before her career skyrocketed with the release of her 2021 single 'Drivers License'. The song climbed to No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and held the spot for eight weeks, making the American singer an international sensation. The same year, she released her debut record Sour via Geffen Records, which featured the No. 1 hit 'Good 4 U'. Now, 22-year-old Olivia Rodrigo is touring the world in support of her second album, Guts (2023), with 102 shows across North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Brazil. Wicklow rockers Florence Road were up first, en par with the theme of girl power that carried throughout the night's performances. The all-girl quartet played original songs like 'Heavy' and 'Caterpillar', much to the delight of local fans in the audience. Lily Aron's soft melodic voice floated across Marlay Park, accompanied by the rhythmic ensemble of guitars, bass, and drums. The four-piece closed their set with 'Goodnight', and after a quick rearrangement of the stage, second support act Beabadoobee further hyped up the young crowd. The indie rock singer, also known as Beatrice Laus, performed her viral 2022 hit 'The Perfect Pair', along with 'California' a track from her latest album This Is How Tomorrow Moves . Combining elements of bedroom pop and space rock, Beabadoobee delivered a sound that was both ethereal and nostalgic. Beabadoobee. Copyright Abigail Ring. After two phenomenal female acts, the horde of girls waiting for the main event of the night were humming with giddiness. Self-made t-shirts with song lyrics scribbled all over (including minor grammatical errors), as well as cardboard signs reading 'We care!' and 'You will always be enough,' added to the wholesome atmosphere. Adjusting my earplugs to no avail, I watched as the crowd roared along to 'Obsessed', hands and signs in the air, welcoming Rodrigo to Dublin. Olivia Rodrigo at Marlay Park on June 24th, 2025. Copyright Abigail Ring/ 'Oh shit, look at this beautiful crowd. Hey, guys!' Rodrigo, dressed in a black leather and lace ensemble, greeted her audience. Deafening, high-pitched screeching from all around. 'I see you all the way back there! I have a feeling tonight's going to be really fun. Are we ready to have a good time?' 'A good time' must have been the understatement of the century. Rodrigo's exceptional vocals were breathy, yet clear, when she delivered hit songs like 'Ballad Of A Homeschooled Girl', 'Vampire', and 'Traitor'. The vibrant tour concept was striking; digital collage art on the stage's backdrop, flashing lights, and unique camera angles that had Rodrigo crawling on a glass catwalk, performing for the camera below. Mellow piano notes blended with the singer's chest voice and falsetto, complimenting the ballad's poignant lyrics. Nearing the end of her set, the singer surprised the audience with an unexpected treat when she confessed her 'obsession' with Dublin band Fontaines D.C. 'The reason why I love Dublin so much is because you guys have really amazing music here. There are so many incredible bands out of Dublin. And lately I've been really obsessed with this band called Fontaines D.C. I'm playing this song, like, alone in my room for fun, and I was wondering if it would be cool if I, like, played it for you guys.' Olivia Rodrigo at Marlay Park on June 24th, 2025. Her nod to the Irish music scene resonated deep within the hearts of her fans, with clips of her rendition being shared all over social media in the following hours. With encore performances of 'Get Him Back' and 'Lacy', Rodrigo bid Marlay Park adieu, leaving thousands of hearts with a night to remember. I sure hope she enjoyed her well-deserved 'celebratory Guinness' backstage.

Disney's High School Musical cast and where they are now nearly two decades on from pop careers to babies

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens' leading roles as Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez captured the hearts of millenials and continue to do so nearly 20 years later. It has been nearly two decades since one of the greatest Disney musicals ever screened. High School Musical first made its debut on screens back in 2006, with fans quickly swooning over Troy Bolton (Zac Efron). There wasn't many teenagers who didn't have a poster of the television hunk on their walls. It's no secret that High School Musical had millenials obsessed, sparking a whole movement which would hold its nostalgia nearly 20 years on. Between crying hearts out to Breaking Free, or busting a dance routine in your living room to Getcha head in the game (which your parents never really cared about), it was hard not to love. Meanwhile, its spin-off series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is wrapping its fourth and final season, it's only right we take a look back at what the original cast have been up to since. There was once hope a fourth film would be released, however rumours have since been quashed. Let's see what the likes of Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu and the rest of the Wildcats have been up to since they left East High. Chloe Fineman Stars in Hulu's Bold New Teen Comedy Summer of 69: Watch the Trailer Everyone's Talking About

Hulu has debuted the official trailer and key art for its highly anticipated Original film Summer of 69, a coming-of-age comedy that marks the feature directorial debut of acclaimed comedic actress Jillian Bell. Set to premiere exclusively on May 9, the film promises a fresh and irreverent take on teenage rites of passage, self-discovery, and the awkwardness of first love. With an ensemble cast packed with comedy veterans and rising stars, Summer of 69 blends sharp humor, unexpected emotional depth, and themes of acceptance and self-confidence in a way that aims to both entertain and resonate with viewers. At the heart of Summer of 69 is an offbeat and daring premise: an awkward and introverted high school senior, desperate to finally connect with her longtime crush before graduation, makes the impulsive decision to hire an exotic dancer for help. What begins as a comedic attempt at teenage seduction gradually transforms into an unexpected journey of friendship, self-empowerment, and maturity. This unique storyline allows the film to explore universal adolescent struggles through a contemporary lens, highlighting issues of identity, insecurity, and acceptance. The trailer hints at moments of heartfelt vulnerability beneath the film's provocative setup, suggesting a layered narrative that challenges stereotypes while leaning into its comedic roots. Summer of 69 Summer of 69 is anchored by Chloe Fineman, known for her dynamic performances on Saturday Night Live, who steps into a leading role with both comedic precision and emotional nuance. She is joined by Sam Morelos, star of That '90s Show, and Matt Cornett, widely recognized for his role in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. The supporting cast includes some of comedy's most recognizable faces: Nicole Byer, Liza Koshy, Natalie Morales, Alex Moffat, Fernando Carsa, Paula Pell, and Charlie Day. Each brings a distinct comedic style and energy to the screen, offering the potential for a dynamic and entertaining ensemble experience. While a cast this robust adds star power and variety, it also requires careful balancing to ensure each character has room to develop. Early glimpses from the trailer suggest that the film succeeds in allowing its central characters to shine while surrounding them with richly drawn comedic personalities. Jillian Bell, best known for her roles in Brittany Runs a Marathon and Workaholics, steps behind the camera for the first time with Summer of 69, making her directorial debut with a project that feels both personal and genre-savvy. Bell also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Liz Nico and Jules Byrne, bringing a collaborative, female-driven perspective to a genre that has historically leaned more toward males. The film is produced by Jeremy Garelick, Will Phelps, Molle DeBartolo, Jillian Bell, Breanna Bell-Singer, Matt Skiena, Adam Goodman, and Lucas Carter. Together, this production team brings a wealth of experience in comedy and indie filmmaking, providing Bell with the support to craft a distinctive and confident first feature. Directorial debuts often come with heightened expectations and scrutiny, but Summer of 69 shows early signs of Bell's natural ease behind the camera. The trailer showcases sharp comedic timing, a vibrant visual style, and a tone that feels both contemporary and nostalgic. While 'Summer of '69' is undoubtedly a comedy, it aspires to be more than just a series of laughs. At its core, the film is about a young woman's journey toward self-confidence and agency, using a wild plan as the catalyst for real personal growth. The unconventional friendship at the center of the story challenges societal norms and offers a refreshing depiction of women supporting each other across vastly different life experiences. The film emphasizes the importance of embracing one's desires without shame and learning to trust oneself during a time of uncertainty. By blending raunchy humor with emotional truth, Summer of 69 has the potential to redefine expectations for the teen comedy genre. It evokes the spirit of films like Superbad and Booksmart while carving out a new space that centers on female perspective and empowerment. Summer of 69 will premiere exclusively on Hulu on Thursday, May 9. The film is part of the platform's growing slate of original comedies aimed at both younger audiences and adults who appreciate innovative, character-driven storytelling. With a strong creative team, a standout cast, and a premise that mixes outrageous comedy with genuine heart, Summer of 69 is poised to be a breakout hit and a memorable addition to the coming-of-age genre. Whether viewers are drawn by its bold humor, its touching themes, or its ensemble of comedic talent, Summer of 69 promises an unforgettable ride through the final days of high school and the messy, hilarious steps toward adulthood.
