Oleksandr Usyk's 'lose-lose' dilemma against Daniel Dubois as rematch poses alarming outcome

David Haye has the utmost respect for Oleksandr Usyk, but is struggling to see what the Ukrainian will add to his legacy when he takes on Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium David Haye has claimed Oleksandr Usyk faces a"no-win" battle against Daniel Dubois. The duo are set to clash at Wembley on Saturday, with the winner walking away as the undisputed world heavyweight champion. ‌ For 'Dynamite', it represents an opportunity to settle the score following his knockout loss to Ukraine's finest in August 2023. Dubois, 27, left that encounter feeling hard done by after Usyk was given extra time to recover by the referee after what was controversially adjudged a low blow by Dubois in the fifth round. ‌ Former cruiserweight champion Haye, who stepped up to capture the WBA heavyweight title, reckons the balance of power may now favour Dubois, particularly given his rematch rival has precious little to add to his legacy. The 44-year-old told the Express, via Highbet: "In every boxer's career, there's a changing of the guard. ‌ "And [who knows] how long Usyk can keep winning like he's been winning? [Like] Usain Bolt, in every sport, you can only be at the top for so long. Someone's going to be the guy to beat you. And someone physically gifted in the way that Dubois is, it's a no-win fight for Usyk. "Usyk has already had all of the belts. It's not like he's never been undisputed champion before. They stripped the [IBF] belt off of Usyk, and then obviously Dubois and AJ fought for that belt, and now Usyk's come [back for it]." ‌ Haye questions the benefits of Usyk fighting on, despite the obvious financial gain. He said: "But it won't make that much difference to Usyk, so I can't see what the upside is. Outside of money, or just his desire to want to get in there and mix it up with the best, you know?" Since toppling Dubois nearly two years ago, Usyk has continued his dominance over British fighters, notching up consecutive wins against Tyson Fury last year. 'The Cat' defeated Anthony Joshua and Derek Chisora earlier in his career. "I think from a statistical point of view, he's got a lot more to lose in this fight," added Haye. "And not that much to gain, outside of probably £20million [Usyk will reportedly earn £97.5m for the rematch] or whatever he's earning, outside of the big paycheck [laughs]. ‌ "But again, that's why you've actually got to respect him even more, because he's taken a fight that doesn't add to his legacy. He's already beaten Dubois, but he's doing it because he obviously loves boxing, he enjoys the training camp and believes he can still perform at this level." Haye went on to emphasise that "every champion believes that until their powers stop," warning again it could mark the turning point for the unbeaten fighter. After all, there's a compelling case that Dubois should have won their first fight after dropping the Ukrainian. It now falls to Usyk to demonstrate that the outcome was far from fortunate, as many fans suspect.

David Haye gives Daniel Dubois blueprint to beat Oleksandr Usyk and tells Brit which boxer to copy

DAVID HAYE says Daniel Dubois' blueprint to beat Oleksandr Usyk is hiding in the boxing legend's reign of terror over his British rivals. Usyk has two points victories over Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury in between a ninth-round stoppage victory over Dubois. 8 Oleksandr Usyk facing off with Daniel Dubois Credit: EPA But before the fantastic five victories, Derek Chisora pushed Usyk all the way in their 2020 bout and lost a tight decision. Haye - who managed Chisora at the time - warned Dubois must learn from Del Boy's aggression and do away with the tactics he, AJ and Fury deployed. He told SunSport courtesy of Highbet: "No matter what your skillset is, you have to be able to work for every second of every round to win the majority of the rounds and up to this point, AJ or Fury wasn't able to go up in gears and really continue to push him. "He kind of said pulled away in those fights. So if Tyson Fury and AJ had worked as hard as Derek worked, for instance, in terms of engine letting his hands go, not having to sort of conserve energy and bounce around the ring and get into that boxing zone which Usyk is a master of, I think he's right. "I think they would have won another two or three rounds maybe which might have been enough to win the fight. "But if you look at Derek Chisora's fight with Usyk and I think I've heard Usyk on a couple of occasions say that was my hardest fight and it wasn't because Derek tried to match him for skills. "Derek matched him for pace and he made Usyk fight his fight which is a close, rough and tough push and pull, exhausting fight. "And Usyk never had that really not at that pace. I think Usyk only won the fight by two rounds so I was there ringside. At the time, a lot of people thought Derek won the fight. 8 USYK VS DUBOIS 2: Stream, TV channel and undercard info for blockbuster Wembley fight Watch Usyk vs Dubois 2 LIVE on DAZN CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS "As time goes by, people say it was an easy win, it wasn't. Go back and watch that fight and at the end of the fight he wasn't sure whether he won or lost the fight and it's down to Derek's strategy that he had going into the fight. "Not playing Usyk's game, the game that Daniel Dubois played to a T for Usyk the first time they fought. David Haye was told Dubois would be heavyweight champion at just 13 "When they first fought Usyk did exactly what he always does when his opponents show him too much respect and they try and sort of ease their way into the fight. "Usyk is so technically gifted that Dubois didn't show Usyk anything he hasn't seen before and it made it - pretty much outside of the sort of semi-low blow whatever you however you see it - it was in full control from Usyk. "But off the strength of Dubois' last fight against Anthony Joshua, he showed a lot more of the mindset that you need to beat Usyk, which is don't play the long game, the long range game, get inside, use your physical attributes." Usyk admits he is entering the first of his final two fights after Olympic gold medal and undisputed titles at two weights. Whereas Haye believes 27-year-old Dubois - who knocked out Joshua in September - is in the prime of his life both mentally and physically. He said: "Will Usyk be training for this fight like it's the toughest fight of his life? "Will he be training for this fight as hard as he trained for the Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua fights? Probably, but how many times can you have a training camp? 8 Usyk beat Dubois in Poland in 2023 Credit: Richard Pelham / The Sun 8 This was the infamous low-blow Credit: TNT 8 Dubois was stopped in round nine Credit: Richard Pelham / The Sun "How many times can you do a 12-round training camp with all the sparring and all the injuries that come with it? "He's 38 years old. A lot of amateur fights, high-level international Olympics, World Championships. "He's been there, seen it, done it, so at some stage you go to the well and it's not as full as it was the time before, the fight before and he's had those four massive unification fights with Fury and Joshua. "I think Usyk is gonna have to have the fight of his life. If the right version of Dubois turns up, a version of Dubois that we saw in his last fight, the performance against AJ, he stuck to his game plan, he did what he needed to do and he was able to win the fight." Dethroning Usyk and handing the Ukrainian icon his first defeat would rank as one of British boxing's greatest wins in the eyes of Haye. He said: "It'd be one of the best wins on paper and in reality. "Although if Usyk does come out and he gets steamrolled, is he getting steamrolled because Dubois is that much better? 8 Usyk beat Derek Chisora on points Credit: Mark Robinson Matchroom Boxing 8 Chisora believed he won the fight Credit: Dave Thompson Matchroom Boxing "Or is it because he's now 38 and that wouldn't have happened when he was 32, 33? "Every boxer gets to the stage where they think they've got everything they once had but you don't know it until you're out there under the lights. "Every great fighter, Roy Jones, Sugar Shane Mosley, Muhammad Ali, every great fighter can go from being an all-time great to losing to somebody who is so much less experienced or even technically gifted because of the physical side. "You can have all the skills in the world, if you don't have the machine, the body to implement it there's a tipping point and I think we're getting close to Usyk's tipping point. "You may be able to hold it together for another fight, maybe two. I don't know but he do ten more like that because the next generation are getting bigger and stronger and younger and more experienced. "So when is that point where his physical ability can't keep up with his technical boxing brain?" Haye knows Dubois is up against it - but reckons destiny is on his side. He said: "He is a massive underdog in this fight. There's no reason why he shouldn't be an underdog. "I just think everything's set for him to shine and if there's ever a chance for Dubois to become undisputed champion, it's Saturday night. "He's got to be willing to take some stick, take a left hand down the pipe from time to time but he's got to get close, watch the Derek Chisora fight on what to do when you get in close. "Rough and tough, push him, if you've got to lose a couple of points because you're hitting him in the back of the head or the kidneys, whatever it is it's life and death and you've got to find a way to win."

How the Highbet Welcome Offer Compares With Other Bookmakers The Highbet welcome offer is solid compared to both established and new betting sites on the market. It provides new customers with £30 in free bets to use on the sportsbook after signing up online. In terms of value, the Highbet sign up offer matches William Hill and Bet365. Where it differs is the odds threshold, requiring greater odds than the 1/2 and 1/5 from the leading betting sites. But, it still holds its own, albeit it does not have the flexibility of others. Bettors must use their free bets on accas rather than any market on the sportsbook. The biggest issue is the winnings cap on the 3 x £10 acca free bets, which are limited at £60 per bet. So you're only allowed to secure a maximum £180 winnings from your free bets. Highbet Offers For Existing Customers As well as the Highbet deposit bonus, there are plenty of offers for existing customers. These betting offers include: Free Bets: The site rewards existing customers with regular Highbet free bet offers on a wide number of sports, surrounding major events. These include football, horse racing, tennis, basketball, American football and others. Boosted Odds: Highbet boosts the value of odds across several markets on a number of sports, including football and horse racing, just as many competing football betting sites do. Acca Boosts: Customers receive acca boosts on successful accas up to 100 per cent. Boosts start with a four-leg acca and go all the way up to 20 legs for the max 100 per cent bonus. Racing Rewards: Users that place regular horse racing bets can qualify to earn racing rewards free bets worth £3. Non Runner No Bet: As with other horse racing betting sites, Highbet offers the NRNB promo for a wide number of horse races, including major events such as Royal Ascot and Cheltenham Festival. Overall, the Highbet welcome offer provides good value compared with competing sites, with the ease of access and flexibility also big positives. In addition, the usual £10 stake combined with a fair odds threshold makes it an offer that is suitable for every level of punter. The fact that winnings are capped at £60 per free bet is a drawback, as is the limit to using free bets as accumulators, but overall this is an offer that will be worth claiming for many punters. Responsible Gambling Always practice responsible gambling. When using gambling sites be aware that sports betting can be addictive. Please take steps to remain in control of your time and budget. The same applies whether you're using slot sites, casino sites, casino apps, betting apps, or any other gambling medium. It's particularly important not to get carried away by any free bets or casino offers you might receive, both of which are available in abundance on betting sites, but must be approached with caution. You can stay in control by making use of the responsible gambling tools offered, such as deposit limits, loss limits, self-exclusion and time-outs. The Richard Hughes-trained son of Dutch Art failed to trouble the judge on his first six outings, but looks an improved horse on the back of a gelding operation. ‌ On his first run back from surgery, Thurso ran a good second to Distant Rumble at the end of April – the race was his turf debut – and was beaten less than a length in third behind Ballsgrove Boy back on Kempton Park's Polytrack the following month. ‌ Thurso then enjoyed a red-letter day, wearing first-time cheekpieces that are persevered with here, back on grass at Haydock Park last time out. Sent off at 5-1 in a field of 11, Finley Marsh's mount edged out Kisskodi by a head. The pair were eight lengths clear of the third and the runner-up has won not once but twice since. Bearing that in mind, an 8lb higher mark here looks within range.
