Soccer-Pogba joins Monaco after serving doping ban

REUTERS/Benoit Tessier/File Photo (Reuters) -Paul Pogba has joined AS Monaco on a free transfer after signing a two-year contract, the Ligue 1 club said on Saturday, as the 32-year-old French midfielder looks to revive his career following a doping ban. Pogba was handed a four-year doping ban in February 2024 after testing positive for DHEA, which boosts testosterone levels. The suspension was cut to 18 months after a successful appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Italian club Juventus announced in November that they had mutually agreed to terminate his contract, which was due to expire in June 2026. The 2018 World Cup winner had a disappointing second spell with Juventus due to injuries after returning to the Turin-based club following his departure from Manchester United on a free transfer in 2022. Pogba was signed by United in 2016 for a then-world record fee of 89 million pounds ($122 million) but the four-times Serie A champion won only two trophies with the Premier League club — the League Cup and Europa League in his first season. He last played for France in 2022 but knee surgery prevented him from appearing at the World Cup in Qatar. Rihanna Puts a Chic Twist on Menswear in a Pistachio-Green Maternity Look at the Dior Show
THE RUNDOWN Rihanna and A$AP Rocky brought their star power to Jonathan Anderson's first Dior menswear show in Paris today. The couple coordinated their looks, with Rihanna standing out in a white top, pistachio-green vest (one of the season's trendiest colors), gray slacks, and a long quilted jacket. The star and brand ambassador, who is expecting her third child with Rocky, wore her hair up and accessorized with sunglasses. Rocky, meanwhile, complemented her in a pastel-blue button-up top and a striped tie. This marks the couple's biggest joint appearance since they attended the Cannes Film Festival premiere of Rocky's film Highest 2 Lowest last month: Rihanna and Rocky announced they were expecting at the 2025 Met Gala, which Rocky co-chaired. Rihanna spoke to Entertainment Tonight about her pregnancy on the red carpet, saying, 'I'm good. I'm shockingly feeling okay and not too overwhelmed at the moment. I mean, at first, it was kind of like, 'Ahhh.'' The couple has two sons: 3-year-old RZA and 1-year-old Riot, who will turn two on August 1. Rihanna discussed her kids' personalities in a Harper's Bazaar interview earlier this year. 'RZA is just an empath,' she said. 'He's so magical. He loves music. He loves melody. He loves books. He loves water. Bath time, swimming, pool, beach, anything. And Riot, he's just hilarious. When he wakes up, he starts to squeal, scream. Not in a crying way. He just wants to sing. And I'm like, 'Okay, here we go!' He's my alarm in the morning! He's not taking no for an answer from anyone. I don't know where he came from, dude,' she joked.

She dished about the experience to her co-star Diego Luna, who portrays Cassian Andor in the Rogue One prequel, and who is guest hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live this week. "I did the first scene and it lasted maybe a minute. I got no notes, which, if any of you here are an actor, that is a horrible thing. That means I failed. That means I didn't get the job," Arjona said. She said writer-creator Tony Gilroy then had Luna leave the room for her next scene. She made a mistake and then tried again. "And I was freaking out," she said. "Then I do the scene again, and silence in the room. I'm freaking out. I'm like, 'I didn't get the job. I didn't get the job. This is the second time I don't get a Star Wars job. I'll never get it again.' And I was heartbroken." "And then Tony just kind of looks at me and goes, 'Welcome to Star Wars, kid,'" she added. "He changed my life in 10 minutes." The second and final season of the series landed on Disney+ April 22. Washington, 70, was at the festival for the first time for the premiere of his latest film with director Spike Lee, "Highest 2 Lowest". Before handing over the prize to Washington, Fremaux introduced a montage of Washington's memorable performances including in "Malcolm X" and "Mo' Better Blues", both directed by Lee.
