Triona McCarthy: Dua Lipa's make-up artist was in town and I got the lowdown on all her latest launches
Hughes was collaborating with the wonderful Kim O'Sullivan from Brow Aid for the occasion as well as Hildun Beauty, and it was fabulous to have amazing creatives, beauty brand founders and industry icons all in one room. Katie's Schtick If you follow Hughes on Insta, you'll see she had a great time here splitting the G with Dua Lipa while she was in town! I'm excited her make-up range is now available in Ireland. With Hughes hopes to empower the beauty community to rewrite the traditional rules of beauty and showcase the endless ways products can be used. I love the Soft Smudge Lip & Cheek (€26, which is a multi-use cream-to-powder stick that delivers a soft matte sheer wash of colour. It's long-wearing and blends into your skin, and when applied to the lips, gives you the perfect buildable colour. It will also leave your lips and cheeks smooth and vibrant. Brow Kween As founder of the Dublin Makeup Academy and the undisputed kween of Dublin brows, Kim O'Sullivan showcased Brow Aid The Brow Blade (€33, a 4-in-1 pencil that contains a brush, in-built sharpener and a refill. It's smudge-proof and comes in various shades to suit all hair colours and skin tones, and its angled tip allows you to make thick and thin strokes to give you flawless brows in just a few steps. You'll be browtastic in no time. Hi to Hildun Meanwhile, beauty writer and business woman Suzy Griffin Dunne from Hildun Beauty showed her latest launch – Summer Nights, a limited-edition capsule collection created in collaboration with world-renowned make-up artist Hannah Martin. The high-performing, blendable pigments with long-wearing formulas include Hildun Beauty Sheer Glow Face Gel (€23, which is a hydrating, water-based complexion enhancer. Formulated with 74pc water, it's infused with humectant ingredients for maximum hydration. Tipple Away We enjoyed lovely cocktails all evening at the launch and, thankfully, I took some Tipple to ward off the hangover from the, er, tipples. The Tipple Hangover Defence Box (€30, is a supplement containing vitamins, minerals, electrolytes and probiotics for hangover protection. Each sachet contains two capsules to be taken when drinking, and you take two capsules with every four drinks for maximum effect. Bottoms up! Treat Hydration heaven Pippa O'Connor Ormond does it again. The bestselling Poco Beauty Skin Flood Ceramide Plumping Water is now available in new sizes – mini (€23) and XL (€65, The lightweight, water-based toner is infused with micro-ceramide capsules for deep hydration, strengthens the skin barrier and enhances product absorption. Treatment Face forward On a recent trip to London. I checked out oculoplastic surgeon and facial aesthetics doctor Maryam Zamani's signature broadband light (BBL) therapy (from £500). It effectively treats skin issues and tightens skin, while her tailored approach transforms appearances. Don't miss her marvellous range of products, including the Eyeconic LED Eye Mask post-treatment – perfect for reducing inflammation. See Trick Cool cosmetics As the weather gets warmer, beauty products can be affected – foundation and nail varnish can separate, for example. Keeping your liquid products in the fridge will make them last longer – and you might want to invest in a dedicated skincare fridge rather than making your La Mer share a shelf with some wilted lettuce. As an added bonus, your beauty products will be refreshingly cool when you apply them to your face in hot, sweaty weather.

This bronze eye pencil is the perfect holiday make-up
Bronze is the colour of summer for me. Maybe a little bit of gold in the evening, but bronze is subtler, more flattering, unless you're very dark, and a great deal easier to wear in the daytime. And here comes a really excellent bronze eye pencil. Now, regular readers will know that I am devoted to the Victoria Beckham Satin Kajal eye pencils, which I consider best in class by quite a long way. They are unimprovable. However, they are also £32 each, meaning that if you don't already have a bronzey one of those (my favourite is Cinnamon), you won't necessarily feel like coughing up for a new one. This is where Hildun Beauty's collaboration with the make-up artist Hannah Martin comes in. The Silk to Set Kajal Liner in Spiced Pecan costs £16 ( and is really lovely.

Triona McCarthy: Want to feel like a real diva? Get your glam on with these Italian make-up, hair and perfume goodies
Meanwhile, truly her mother's daughter, Mini said Michelangelo's magnificent work just gave her 'the willies'. She just wanted to go to Sephora... See the light We all enjoyed the Prada store in Florence. I picked up the Prada Light Glowing Lipcolor (€46, which comes in four shades and has an oil-in-stick texture that melts on the lips and gives you a sheer veil of glowy colour. As well as making your lips look gorge, it is infused with passion fruit oil and bifidus extract to strengthen the lip barrier, improve definition and texture, and smooth lip lines. Cheek of you While I was prancing around Italy, I wore my new Armani Luminous Silk Cheek Tint (€43, I was inspired to try it by actor and Giorgio Armani fragrance and make-up ambassador Sadie Sink, who wore the shade Sunlit Sienna, a burnished pink. This liquid blush has a high-shine effect and is an intense, candy-toned colour that appears to move with the light. It comes in four pearlescent shades and lasts for up to 12 hours. Everything is rosy We also visited the Santa Maria Novella shop, which is one of the oldest and most beautiful pharmacies and cosmetic shops in the world. The pharmacy was founded in 1221 in Florence by Dominican friars, where they created medications, balms, and elixirs using medical herbs – such as distilled rose petals – harvested from the monastic gardens. You don't need to go to Italy though, as you can buy the Rosa Gardenia Eau de Cologne, €125 via Glow queens I also packed some Hildun Beauty – many of the products are made in Italy, and the brand has teamed up once again with makeup artist Hannah Martin to launch the limited-edition capsule collection Summer Nights, which is perfect for bringing that summer glow. I love the Hildun Beauty Soul Shimmer Shadows (€20, cream-hybrid shadows that give a lovely shimmer and are crease-resistant and long-wearing – perfect in the heat. Care for your hair I just love Italian style. Even their hair looks so swishy and shiny and expensive – even in the heat! The Italian hair brand Oncare is great for the sun and has recently launched in Ireland. There are eight ranges and I love Selective Professional Oncare Smooth, which adds shine and hydration to long and unruly hair. There are five products in this range, including a balm, shampoo, smoothing milk and leave-in mirror-effect spray. My favourite is the Selective Professional Oncare Smoothing Milk (€17.50, salons nationwide) which repairs, conditions and restores balance to the hair fibre, leaving it fuller, nourished and easier to manage. Treat Tan-tastic Pippa O'Connor Ormond's beauty line is such a carefully considered range and I love that her products nourish the skin from within. So, of course, the new tan range is flying off the shelves. I particularly like the Poco Beauty Skincare Infused Tanning Mousse (€28, It comes in two shades and ingredients include hyaluronic acid and niacinamide. Trick Sunscreen at school With the warm weather finally here, I feel it's vital to send sunscreen to school with the kids, but how to do it without it spilling all over their books in the bag is always the conundrum. I found the answer is to put the sunscreen into the little makeup pots with screw-on lids that you get with eye creams and concealers, as they're compact and spill-proof (well, once they screw the lid on properly – maybe pop in a little Ziploc bag, just in case). Treatment Spot on Calling all acne prone-people! You need to know about AviClear, a groundbreaking, FDA-cleared laser treatment now available in Ireland. This innovative solution reduces sebum production with minimal downtime and 90pc of patients see visible improvements within six months. AviClear involves three 30-minute sessions and is available at select dermatology and aesthetic clinics nationwide, with pricing starting at €950 per session. See
