New trainee policy to end ad-hoc system, says govt spokesman
A government spokesperson Friday clarified that the aim of the new trainee policy was to make the functioning of departments more smooth, efficient and effective. He said that previously, the period for regularising contractual employees depended on ad-hoc decisions and the discretion of the government. This duration varied from two to eight years. The objective of the new policy was to end the ad-hoc system and ensure regularisation of employees after a two-year period. He also clarified that there was no provision in the new policy to terminate the services of any trainee after two years. Referring to criticism of the policy by the Opposition leaders, the spokesperson said that some political leaders were spreading misinformation regarding the policy. He questioned how the Agniveer scheme, which was once a key recruitment source for Himachali youth, has now completely shut its doors. He asked what plans were being made for those youths who would be retired at the age of 23. He said that the new policy has been designed keeping in mind the interests of the youth and that most of its provisions were similar to the previous contract policy. In the earlier contract system, the employees were also kept on contract for two years and under the new system, selected candidates would serve as trainees for a similar period. He said that a departmental examination would be conducted after the two-year training, for which the Personnel Department would soon issue detailed guidelines. All candidates selected through the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission and the Rajya Chayan Aayog would be regularised after completing the two-year trainee period.

The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has invited online applications from eligible candidates for the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services (Mains) Combined Competitive Examination 2025. Eligible candidates can register on the official website till August 5, 2025. Candidates who have qualified HPAS Prelims are eligible to apply for the Main exam. The recruitment drive aims to fill 30 vacancies. 'It may be noted that any delay in applying through Online Recruitment Application or documents in support beyond the prescribed date will not be allowed and will lead to cancellation of the candidature for the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service Combined Competitive (Main) Examination -2025,' reads the notification. HPPSC HPAS answer key 2025 released; submit suggestions by July 6
The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has released the provisional answer key for the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services Combined Competitive Examination 2025. Eligible candidates can download the answer key from the official website Applicants can submit suggestions, if any, by July 6, 2025. A fee of Rs 100 per suggestion is applicable. The exam was conducted on June 29, 2025. The recruitment drive aims to fill 30 vacancies. 'Further in support of objection, candidate should upload authentic document/ reference in pdf format in support of their claim. No claim without any supporting document shall be considered despite of having paid requisite fee,' reads the notification. HPPSC declares results for Subordinate Allied Services 2023; 64 candidates selected, details here
The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has announced the final selection list for the Subordinate Allied Services (Main) Examination-2023 on June 24, 2025. The list of shortlisted candidates is available on the official website The result is based on candidates' performance in the mains exam and subsequent document verification. A total of 64 candidates have been selected for appointments in four different departments across the state. The recruitment process was carried out for various posts based on candidate merit and post-wise preferences. The Main Examination was conducted from March 7 to March 9, 2025, while the Preliminary exam was held on September 8, 2024.
