The trend is being driven by the need to stay competitive as emerging technologies disrupt traditional business models. Himanshu Rai: My Passion for acting never let me quit
Himanshu Rai, recognized as Kaushal in 'Lekar Hum Deewana Dil,' pursued his acting dream from Ghazipur to Mumbai. Himanshu Rai, currently seen as Kaushal in Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, traces his acting journey from Ghazipur to moving to Mumbai with quiet determination and passion. 'Bachpan se mujhe acting ka passion tha, aur mein sure tha ki mujhe actor hi banna hai,' says Himanshu, who began pursuing theatre alongside his BA studies. He took formal training in acting at an institute in Delhi before making the big move to Mumbai. 'My family was always supportive. We all knew this career isn't easy – there's struggle, competition – but my passion never let me quit. It always pushed me to move forward,' he shares. Himanshu began with small roles in crime-based shows like CID and Crime Patrol, gradually building his experience. His breakthrough came with Mere Sai – Shraddha Aur Saburi, where he played the role of Keshav Kulkarni. 'It was a positive character and had a significant place in the story. That show gave me the confidence and visibility I needed.' Currently, in Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, he plays another positive and pivotal role. 'In both shows, my characters have had depth, and that's what I look for,' he adds. Looking ahead, Himanshu is eager to take on diverse and challenging roles. 'I wish to explore more shades as an actor – something strong, even negative. I also want to explore films and I chose roles that helped me learn and polish my craft. Those small projects prepared me."

IIM-I launches new batches of executive doctoral programmes for professionals
Indore: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore launched its 15th batch of the Executive Doctoral Programme in Management (EDPM) and the 5th batch of the Executive Doctoral Programme in Management & Governance (EDPMG) on Monday. The latest cohort comprises 24 participants, with 18 enrolled in EDPM and 6 in EDPMG. These professionals come from diverse sectors, including engineering, finance, technology, social sciences, and urban governance. Professor Himanshu Rai, director of IIM Indore, said, "At IIM Indore, we are committed to nurturing leaders who blend knowledge with compassion and research with purpose. Our executive doctoral programmes are designed for professionals who aspire to solve real-world problems through cutting-edge scholarship." He advised participants to select research topics that they find engaging, beneficial to others, and conducive to substantial learning. "When all three align, you know you're on the right path," he said. More women join top IIMs as gender diversity rises

Remove Ads India's top business schools are increasing the intake of women for their flagship programmes, which experts say will help produce 'top of the order' female managers and leaders at a time when industry is looking to improve diversity across data compiled by ET shows that the six old Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) together have 9% more female students in the Class of 2027, compared with last year's batch. These premier institutes have completed the admission process for this IIM-Indore, as much as 53.79% of the new students are women, the highest in the institute's 29-year history. Female students account for 30.84% of the new batch at IIM-Ahmedabad, the most in four years. Narayanan Ramaswamy, national leader (education and skill development) at KPMG India, sees more women joining top B-schools as a win-win for the institutes and industry. While the Bschools will benefit from this diversity as their curriculum, pedagogy and industry engagement become more holistic, recruiters, too, are looking for diversity, especially at top management and decision-making leadership levels, he said. IIMs said they are taking steps to improve gender diversity on their campuses. IIM-Indore incorporated a diversity factor starting the 2025 admissions cycle, allocating special weight to women and candidates with non-engineering out of the 100 points in the final selection stage are allocated to such candidates.'We have introduced the diversity factor to build classrooms that reflect the richness of the real world, one that is diverse in perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences,' said its director, Himanshu Rai. 'A diverse cohort equips our students to thrive in dynamic business environments where empathy, collaboration and inclusivity are critical to success.'IIM-Kozhikode is another institute where women will be in the majority: of its 489 students, close to 55% are women in the new batch. Female and transgender candidates receive specific diversity points in the interview shortlisting process, said admissions chairperson Ram Kumar the first time in the last four years, IIM-Ahmedabad has more than 30% female students among the 414 students in the Class of 2027. Both the batch size and gender diversity percentage have increased for this IIM, from 397 and 22.92% for the class of 2022-24.'To help increase the pool of female candidates selected for the admission interviews, we have introduced gender diversity points this year while preparing the interview shortlist,' Karthik Sriram, chairperson, admissions, account for close to 40% of the batch of the full-time twoyear post-graduate programme at IIM-Bangalore, which is almost like last year, said Mukta Kulkarni, dean of academic programmes.
