WWE takes fans behind the scenes in their new docu-series titled Unreal, watch
Ever since WWE started its journey with Netflix, the company has been more open about their storylines, characters, and overall workings. WWE wrestlers have started participating in more interviews to talk about how the business works and what all goes into putting together such a prolific show. Now to take things further, the company has just dropped the trailer for their new docu-series Unreal, where for the first time ever, WWE will lay it bare for the world to see exactly what goes on behind the curtains. As a kid, you want to believe that WWE and all the gripping storylines it comes with are real, but the fact of the matter is that it is a scripted show. People point that out quite often, but what they fail to realise is the level of genius that it takes to write, produce and perform a show that has been running for more than 50 years. This is what the makers wish to convey through Unreal: to take the criticism directed at the company and its employees for being 'scripted,' and show just how challenging it is to bring everything together behind the scenes. ALSO READ: WWE Raw Highlights: Former world champion returns to save Jey Uso and CM Punk, as Paul Heyman gasps in horror We see the CCO (Chief Content Officer) of the company Triple-H, who himself is a 14-time world champion, explain the intentions behind Unreal. He says, 'This is for the people that think, 'Isn't that just a bunch of guys pretending to fight?'' When you see the behind the scenes, I don't know how you can't fall in love with the business.' All the interviews and the backstage footage shown in the trailer seem to point towards a Drive to Survive-coded show, which will use all the drama present in that ring and office to give the audience an immersive experience. We see superstars like CM Punk and John Cena talk about their journey with the company, and it looks like we are also going to understand exactly what happened with Cena and his unprecedented 'heel turn'. Directed by Chris Weaver, Unreal will feature five episodes, with each episode running 50 minutes. The stars confirmed to appear in the docu-series are Triple H, Cody Rhodes, John Cena, Rhea Ripley, CM Punk, Jey Uso, Bianca Belair, Chelsea Green, Charlotte Flair, and Xavier Woods. The long list of executive producers includes NFL legend Peyton Manning, who has another documentary in the pipeline titled Hip Hop Was Born Here, releasing on July 22. WWE Unreal will be available for streaming from July 29.
