Honda City hybrid price slashed: Check new price and features

Honda Cars has slashed the price of its City e:HEV by nearly Rs 1 lakh. The strong-hybrid version of the popular midsize sedan is now available at Rs 19.90 lakh, ex-showroom, down from its previous price tag of Rs 20.85 lakh. This reduction of Rs 95,010 brings the hybrid model closer to its initial launch price. Honda City e:HEV: Powertrain and fuel efficiency The Honda City e:HEV is offered exclusively in the fully-loaded ZX variant, following the discontinuation of the lower V the Honda City hybrid is a 1.5-litre petrol engine that runs on the fuel-efficient Atkinson cycle. It works alongside two electric motors: one helps start the engine and charges the battery, while the other drives the car using electricity from a lithium-ion battery pack. Together, this petrol-electric setup produces 126 hp and 253 Nm of torque. The power is delivered to the front wheels through an e-CVT automatic gearbox. The hybrid system is tuned for maximum efficiency, and Honda claims an ARAI-certified fuel economy of 27.26 kmpl. On the inside, the sedan comes well-equipped with features that cater to both comfort and safety. The cabin houses an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger, and ADAS. These include Lane Keep Assist, Collision Mitigation Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Road Departure Mitigation, and Auto High Beam.

Honda Cars India has announced the launch of the new City Sport special edition, which introduces sporty enhancements to the widely favoured sedan. The new Honda City Sport Edition is available at a starting price of ₹ 14.89 lakh (ex-showroom), and it features several blacked-out elements both on the exterior and interior to enhance its appeal. This exclusive City Sport Edition will be offered in limited quantities and competes with models such as the Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna and Skoda Slavia within the segment. The Honda City Sport gets blacked-out embellishments, which make the sedan look sportier as compared to the standard edition. (Also read: Upcoming cars in India) This special edition model is now available for purchase at Honda dealerships nationwide. The Honda City Sport will be offered in three colour options, including Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, and Meteoroid Grey Metallic. Take a look at what has changed on the newest iteration of the sedan: Honda City Sport Edition: New features The City Sport Edition enhances the sedan's exterior with a range of upgrades. The chrome grille is now finished in black, as is the rear spoiler. The outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) sport a crystal black finish, while the multi-spoke alloy wheels are rendered in metallic grey. Additionally, the shark-fin antenna is finished in gloss black, and a 'Sport' emblem is affixed to the boot of the sedan. Inside the cabin, an all-black interior has been introduced, accented with red garnishing on the dashboard. The seats are upholstered in black leatherette with contrasting red stitching, and new soft-touch door inserts enhance the interior quality. Elevate to get new variants soon) Honda City Sport Edition: Specifications The Honda City Sport Edition is powered by the well-known 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 119 bhp and 145 Nm of peak torque. It is exclusively coupled with a 7-speed continuously variable transmission (CVT) automatic gearbox. The manufacturer claims a fuel efficiency of 18.40 kmpl, as certified by ARAI, for the City automatic version. In terms of features, the City Sport Edition is equipped with familiar technology, including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities, voice command functionality, a four-speaker sound system, automatic climate control, a dual-pod instrument console with a multi-information display (MID) unit, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), among numerous other offerings.

The Honda Elevate Apex Summer Edition is more affordable by ₹32,000 over the V variant, which it is based on Honda Cars India has introduced the new Elevate Apex Summer Edition, bringing the SUV at a more attractive price point. The new Honda Elevate Apex Summer Edition is priced at ₹ 12.39 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. The special edition is based on the V trim and commands ₹ 32,000 less than the standard version. Notably, Honda had announced plans to lower prices on select variants in its April sales report. Honda Elevate Apex Summer Edition: What's New? The new Elevate Apex Summer Edition offering packs more features, while the asking price is much lower compared to the standard Elevate V trim. Exterior highlights include a dual-tone interior finished in black and white, new leatherette upholstery on the seats and door trims, seat cushions, seven-colour ambient lighting, and a 360-degree camera. Elevate to get new variants soon The new Elevate Apex Summer Edition brings a dual-tone interior, leather upholstery, Apex cushions, piano black and chrome accents, ambient lighting, a 360-degree camera, and more Honda Elevate Apex Summer Edition: Specifications Powering the special edition Elevate is the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with the 6-speed manual and CVT automatic gearboxes. The SUV continues to be available in the Black paint scheme, while the Platinum White Pearl paint option is available at a premium of ₹ 8,000. Other variants of the Elevate remain unchanged, with the range starting from ₹ 11.91 lakh and going up to ₹ 16.73 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Honda Elevate Apex Summer Edition is intended to attract more buyers with its premium positioning at a competitive price point. However, the new special edition could deter buyers from looking at the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota UC Hyryder, and the naturally aspirated variants of the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta.
