ATEEZ's Hongjoong samples fan's 'how was the show' viral moment for solo track NO1, know what it is about

ATEEZ is known for their fun-loving nature, and their fandom is known for its humor. Recently, a beloved inside joke within the fandom resurfaced after the release of ATEEZ's latest album, GOLDEN HOUR : Part.3 In Your Fantasy Edition on July 11. Specifically, the solo track NO1, sung by Hongjoong, took the joke one step ahead. What is Hoongjoong's "how was the show" joke about? The joke stemmed from an ATINY's past comment of "Oh my God, I'm taller than him." It occurred during the ATEEZ members' meet and greet session after one of their 2024 World Tour shows. When leader Hoongjoong was busy signing autographs for his fans, one of them made the remark. Hearing that, Hongjoong pretending to be mad at her and promptly asked, "How was the show?" He said that to shift her attention from his height to his artistry. Recently, the joke gained new momentum as Hoongjoong mentioned about it in his latest solo track, NO1. Hoongjoong's NO1 track's lyrics takes inspiration from "how was the show" joke Hoongjoong slyly slipped in the fan comment "OMG, I'm taller than him" in NO1's lyrics. It became a highlight of the GOLDEN HOUR : Part.3 In Your Fantasy Edition song, bringing immense delight to fans. He used the line as an intro of the track, highlighting his endearing bond with his fans. Fans make hilarious plan to get back at Hoongjoong for sampling "OMG, I'm taller than him" in NO1 The fan, whose voice was used as the sample for the NO1 lyric, texted about the same on ATTEZ's paid fan communication platform. The viral fan texted "uhhh so since im in the song... can I get a free meet and greet ticket in LA?" When she shared the screenshot of her text on X (formerly Twitter), captioning it as "im shooting my shot", other ATINYs came up with hysterical responses. One of them commented, "can u actually go on stage and perform with him and just say ur taller than him into the mic i think it would be hilarious." The viral fan replied that she could never muster up the courage to do that but the rest of the fandom expressed their wish to keep the joke going.

LINE FRIENDS x ATEEZ collaboration: MIGHTEEZ ATEEZ fans, get ready for some cuteness! In a collaborative project with LINE FRIENDS, K-pop superstars ATEEZ have dropped their new character line, MIGHTEEZ. Each of the eight members – Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho – designed their characters who each represent them in their fairy world that will bring joy to their fans, whose fandom is called ATINY. The group had an 'ATINY Care Center' meeting to discuss the design of their characters, which was later shared on their official YouTube channel. Their focus in creating these figures were to address their ATINY's dreams and concerns, how to care for them, and discuss the fairies' powers. The members hope the new collection will bring positive energy and enjoyment for their fans in ATEEZ's musical journey from their Golden Hour and on. The characters – hongyo, ddeongyo, tyuyo, ddangyo, saniyo, mingyo, kkamyo, and jjongyo – each have different superpowers designated by the ATEEZ members: time control, intuition and foresight, spatial control, all-purpose helper, digestion, sage wisdom, teleportation, and weather manipulation, conveying ATEEZ's signature identity through their infinite possibilities. As a bonus, each plush keychain comes with a photocard of the member holding their character associated with it. Though the online pre-orders for the new MIGHTEEZ keychain are sold-out (pre-orders were opened between June 22 - 25), LINE FRIENDS are expected to have more as the official release gets closer in October. Emma Roberts and Hongjoong Lead the Amber-colored Hair Trend at the Jacquemus Spring 2026 Show

Emma Roberts and Hongjoong defied the laws of neutral tones with fiery hair colors at the Jacquemus spring 2026 menswear presentation in Paris on Sunday. The two were among a litany of A-listers who showed up to support creative director Simon Porte, including Camila Alves McConaughey and Matthew McConaughey, Bb Trickz, Stormzy and Aya Nakamura. Roberts, famously a blond and a fleeting brunette, switched it up and tinged her mane with amber hues, twisting it in a bun in the back of her head. While the coloring is nothing new for Roberts, given that the 'Wild Child' lead has been sporting the shade for months, Hongjoong recently made the switch and bleached his eyebrows, too. The 26-year-old South Korean rapper was previously platinum blond. The leaders of this movement include Leighton Meester, Keke Palmer and Parker Posey. The stigmatization of dyed hair has majorly diminished over the years, after the style choice was originally met with widespread opprobrium, especially during the 'golden age' of Hollywood. At the time, unnatural hair color was considered gaudy, a threat to the beloved ingenue aesthetic boasted by female stars such as Audrey Hepburn. Luckily, the late '70s and the early '80s helped reframe that perception, loosening the bounds of traditional beauty standards amid the era of punk rebellion. Then, as the 2000s rolled around, foil highlights, feathers and tinsel made these whimsical hair accents more mainstream. Now, hair trends are not only focusing on a kaleidoscope of orange coloring but animal-inspired styles, too. Calico hair, specifically, is gaining momentum online as many individuals opt for the feline aesthetic, which sees the mane become a melting pot of orange, red, brown and blond. People are simultaneously following the foxtail fad, boldly dip-dyeing their amber-hued ends a contrasting color. The gradient style is anything but subtle; it's fierce and aggressive (like the animal). Elsewhere at the Jacquemus show, attendees modeled mermaid waves, a bespoke summer hairstyle, and elongated ponytails. Camila Alves McConaughey waved her dark locks from the roots to the tips, while Bb Trickz added inches to her ends with extensions. Others, such as Alexandra Saint Mleux and Sandra Shehab, slicked their hair back, giving the illusion they'd shaved it all off. Meanwhile, chic and effortless styling was accomplished by both Géraldine Nakache and Gillian Anderson, tucking their tresses into high-collared garments. Ateez returns with cool summer vibe

Group promises 'many albums ahead,' hopes to share good news about its future soon Boy band Ateez has returned with its 12th EP, opting for a looser and cooler vibe compared to its usual intensity in time for the summber season. Ateez's 'Golden Hour: Part 3' was released seven months after its predecessor and signals a notable shift in sound and attitude. Leader Hongjoong underscored that the release, consisting of five tracks including the main track 'Lemon Drop,' is full of the feeling of a fresh new summer. ''Lemon Drop' is a summer song with a story of sweet, fresh confession. I've heard that this year's summer will be really hot, and this track might be the way to cool things down,' said Hongjoong during the press conference held in Mapo-gu, Seoul, Thursday. Wooyoung described the main track as 'addictive,' with a captivating hook and choreography. Compared to the group's signature performances, 'Lemon Drop' brings a looser, breezier R&B hip-hop vibe. 'Our last main track had a heavy, refined charm, but 'Lemon Drop' is bright and refreshing,' said Mingi. 'Many of the B-sides also remind us of summer nights, so we hope fans take interest in them too.' Ateez has steadily built a global presence in recent years, wrapping up its world tour recently. The group's 11th EP, 'Golden Hour: Part. 2,' released in November 2024, topped the Billboard 200 chart and reached No. 4 on the UK's Official Albums Chart. 'We're thankful to our fans for helping us achieve such great results on the Billboard 200 and other charts,' said Yeosang. 'Rather than feeling pressured by chart performance, we just hope to create meaningful memories and stay healthy during our activities.' Following the release, Ateez will embark on another world tour in July. 'We're including performances fans have repeatedly asked for, and trying out new concepts we've never attempted before,' shared Yunho. Now in its seventh year — a critical point in the K-pop industry often tied to contract renewals — the group was asked about their future as a team. 'The eight of us have been thinking a lot about what more we can show together. We'll do our best to share good news with you in the near future,' Hongjoong responded. Though this album signals a new side of Ateez, the members emphasized that their drive to evolve hasn't changed. 'What we think is 'cool' is having the courage to try new things without fear,' said San. 'We still have many albums ahead, and we'll keep working hard to show you even better versions of ourselves.'
