Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco's wedding timeline revealed in new interview
Benny Blanco confirmed during a podcast appearance on Therapuss with Jake Shane on July 10, 2025, that he and fiancée Selena Gomez plan to begin wedding preparations later this summer. The couple, who got engaged in December 2024, have delayed planning due to their packed schedules. Blanco explained that both are currently juggling multiple projects, Selena with her filming and music commitments, and himself with upcoming book releases, studio work, and a collaborative album. Despite the busyness, he emphasized that their downtime remains meaningful and relaxed. 'Honestly, I really want to take a little break. I have been working so much. I just want to lie in bed and forget what day it is… Not usually, but with Selena, I can do it all day. She makes me want to hang out and cuddle, just watch things, eat food, and have the best time ever,' Blanco shared. When asked about the wedding, Blanco described it as something they want to feel 'chill' and 'amazing.' He noted that Gomez already has a vision board with ideas like a backyard setting, incorporating Jewish traditions such as the Hora and challah, and opting for a dance with her grandfather instead of a traditional first dance. He also mentioned that longtime friend Ed Sheeran may be among the invited guests. While a specific date has not been set, the couple intends to sit down later in the summer to start finalizing plans for the ceremony.

Selena Gomez's fiancé Benny Blanco reveals the biggest 'argument' the high-profile couple ever had
Benny Blanco has revealed the biggest argument he has had, to date, with his pop star fiancée Selena Gomez. The couple have recently released their first collaborative album, I Said I Love You First. The songwriter and producer, 37, appeared on Nova's Ricki-Lee, Tim and Joel on Friday, where he gave an insight into the couple's working relationship. Host Ricki-Lee Coulter asked Benny how he and Selena, 32, approached the potential minefield that comes with working together in a creative space. 'Honestly she's so easy,' Benny revealed. 'When we first started making it [the album], if anything starts to feel weird, we're stopping this immediately, and it never did.' Benny did open up about one unusual spat the couple had during recording - all about chirping birds. 'The biggest thing we got in was about birds,' he admitted. Benny revealed that the couple recorded the album at home largely in a guest bedroom. However, it soon became apparent that Selena had an audience. 'For some reason there was a nest of birds that were right outside the window where she was recording,' he said. 'I never heard it because whenever I walked in the birds didn't make noise.' Benny added that Selena became frustrated with Benny not being able to hear the chirping coming from beyond the window, until she captured irrefutable proof. 'It was frustrating so much,' he said. 'Finally she got it on wax, it picked up on the mic and I finally heard it.' Continuing, Benny said the couple's avian ordeal taught him one important thing about their relationship. 'It made me realise, "oh shoot, we're really meant for each other," because we're not the arguing type,' he said. 'We're not like yellers, we just kind of talk everything out. We have really good communication skills.' 'The biggest thing we got in was about birds,' he admitted. 'For some reason there was a nest of birds that were right outside the window where she was recording,' he said. 'I never heard it because whenever I walked in the birds didn't make noise' Benny's admission comes as Selena revealed this week that the couple will be ditching a major wedding tradition when they walk down the aisle. The Only Murders in the Building star admitted she's planning to ditch the classic bride and groom dance at their reception because she's too shy. 'I don't think we're looking at having one of those 'cause they're a little — I feel embarrassed,' she said on Wednesday's episode of Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware. 'She's shy,' Benny confirmed. But while there won't be a traditional first dance, Selena revealed she's making room for a deeply meaningful moment — a special dance with her grandfather. 'He never got a chance to walk my mom down the aisle,' she shared. 'I wanted to give [my grandfather] the opportunity to have that.' Another tradition that will be on the dance floor? The Hora — also known as the 'chair dance' — as a nod to Benny's Jewish heritage. And while Selena's on board, she confessed she's more than a little nervous. 'It was frustrating so much,' he said. 'Finally she got it on wax, it picked up on the mic and I finally heard it' The couple have recently released their first collaborative album, I Said I Love You First 'I've got to be honest, it looks so cute and adorable but I was like, "What? I have to depend on just something like [a chair]?"' The pop star confirmed her relationship with the producer in December 2023, and the pair got engaged a year later. 'Forever starts now,' Selena wrote at the time, showing off her sparkling diamond ring. Selena and Benny have known each other for over a decade — since 2013, when he first met her mother, Mandy Teefey. He later co-produced two of her hits Kill Em With Kindness and Same Old Love, from her 2015 album Revival.
