Actor Hrishikesh Pandey, recognised for his role as Inspector Sachin in 'CID', shared insights into the entertainment industry, emphasising the significance of timing in achieving success. Known for his extensive work on Indian television, Pandey reflected on his journey as an actor and the role that patience and timing play in life. According to him, success in the film industry requires being "at the right place at the right time."advertisementIn an interview with The Times of India, he said, "Opportunities don't come easily, and when they do, people grab them. That's how it has always been - and it will continue to be."Pandey elaborated on the unpredictable nature of the entertainment world, saying, "You can meet people and stay in touch, but unless the timing and situation align, things won't work out. So yes, focus on your own path, keep working, and your time will come." When selecting roles, Pandey prioritises the depth of the character over the role's perceived prestige. "But more than that, it's the character that matters to me. I don't care if I'm playing a beggar, a hero, or someone young or old. What matters is the strength and importance of the character," he addition to discussing opportunities, Pandey addressed the media's role in shaping public perception. He believes the media should focus more on meaningful content rather than sensationalism, stating, "Firstly, the media needs to be more responsible... There's too much promotion of irrelevant or even vulgar content these days.""Secondly, we need to stop recording or promoting private conversations or sensationalised drama. It's inappropriate and disrespectful. Entertainment and the media come with responsibility. What we do and say influences people, so we need to act accordingly. There were so many unneeded things recorded, sometimes published without any consent too. I feel all of this should be totally avoided," the actor Pandey is best known for playing Inspector Sachin in the popular TV show 'CID', a role that made him a familiar face in Indian households. Currently winning hearts once again in CID Season 2, actor Hrishikesh Pandey continues to bring strength, depth, and sincerity to every role he plays. But beyond the screen, that same integrity and inner strength are rooted in real life—in the values passed down by his father. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now With a career built on discipline, consistency, and dedication, Hrishikesh is as grounded in his personal life as he is successful in his professional one. As Father's Day approaches, he opens up in a heartfelt conversation about the man who shaped him long before the cameras started rolling. 'For me, Father's Day isn't just about one day. All 365 days belong to our parents,' Hrishikesh shares. 'We must constantly show them love, affection, and respect—not just celebrate them once a year and forget about it. It's very, very important.'Raised in an army household, Hrishikesh grew up observing his father's unwavering discipline and integrity. His fondest memories aren't of grand gestures, but of the simple, meaningful moments that shaped his worldview. 'Holding his hand and going shopping, learning small things from him… He never rested during the day—always active, always doing something,' he recalls. 'I think I've inherited that habit from him: always staying busy and working.' His father, a man of immense character, taught through actions—not lectures. And the one lesson that Hrishikesh carries closest to his heart is honesty. 'He was very honest, and I've always followed that path. I've never done wrong to anyone, never hurt people, and always tried to help others,' Hrishikesh says. 'He believed in standing for the truth—not by shouting, but by staying firm and correcting things. Even if you have to stand against your own people, do it. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now If something is wrong, it is wrong.' That moral compass—of never wavering from the truth, no matter the pressure—continues to guide Hrishikesh in both his personal and professional life. He sees his father not just as a parent, but as a mentor whose silent lessons shaped his core. 'I honour his legacy every day. I try to live in a way that would make him proud,' Hrishikesh affirms. 'His principles—honesty, discipline, helping others—they're part of who I am.' As he reflects on where life has taken him, there's pride, but also a sense of quiet longing. 'There were things he wanted to do in life but couldn't. I feel that by achieving something of my own, by making a name for myself, I've carried his dreams forward,' he says. 'There's regret too. I had promised to take him to certain places, and that never happened. That pain stays. But I know, wherever he is, he's watching. And he's proud.'

CID's Hrishikesh Pandey on Pahalgam Terror attack: There has to be a strong reply to this
The entire country is still recovering from the shock of the barbaric terrorist attack in Pahalgam recently. Actor Hrishikesh Pandey , who is known for his show C.I.D, offers his condolences, adding that major steps need to be taken to stop such terrible attacks. 'First of all, my condolences are with the family—the ones who lost their family members. It's really, really sad. Since I come from an army background, we have lived in Pathankot, Kufwala, and those places near the border. So I know how the situation was earlier also, being an army kid. At times, 1–2 small deaths were also not covered by the news channels, and people didn't know about it too. Now times have changed, and we get to know about it,' he says. He adds, 'There was a time my brother was also posted there, at the Kufwala border. I've not seen these kinds of shootouts, killings and bombings it is experienced. We used to hear from him every single day or every other day. These kinds of news and stories came from him because he was there and had experienced it all. So, in our family, we heard it through him, we were aware of the environment because he was posted there. That atmosphere naturally became part of our family discussions. We didn't have any other relatives, friends, or colleagues in that area, so all the information came from him. So it's really sad. So, we have to keep our morale up always, no matter what .' He adds that Kashmir tourism has been flourishing. 'People had started going there, our shootings were happening there and, you know, people were back to leading a normal life. Now, it depends on the government and what action they take. There has to be a strong reply to this. This is what I can say. It's a very, very sad thing, and yes, this is what I can say,' he says. The actor says that we need to stop losing innocent lives. 'Innocent people die in all these kinds of things—innocent people are killed for their selfish motives. Everybody wants happiness at the end of the day, and it's very, very important to educate people. I'm not talking about our people in this—I'm talking about the terrorists. Once you are educated, then you understand feelings and emotions and family values and ethics. So you'll never do something like this. It's the lack of education, which is so important—for people. You cannot blindly trust whatever you are told, and that is what these people do,' he says. This kind of attack must be dealt with a united front, says the actor. 'Also, I feel personally that the politicians should not start doing their politics again. It has to be mutually decided. Everybody should come together in situations like this and fight. I think it's high time people should understand, and come out with a solution instead of blaming each other,' he says.
