Tens of thousands of Iranians attend funerals of killed generals
dpa Tehran Tens of thousands of people attended official funeral ceremonies held in central Tehran on Saturday for the generals killed by Israel. The senior military leaders and members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) honoured include Chief of Staff Mohammed Bagheri, IRGC Commander-in-Chief Hussein Salami and Amir-Ali Hajizadeh, head of the IRGC's aerospace division. The three men were the leaders of the Iranian armed forces and had significant political influence. Israel targeted and killed more than 20 high-ranking military officials during the 12-day war, some of them in their homes. Journalists and one of the nuclear scientists who were killed were also commemorated, state broadcaster IRIB reported. Attendees at the ceremonies on Saturday included President Massoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, but not religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. It is unusual for the nation's most powerful man to be absent as usually on such an occasion he would recite the prayers. More than 1 million people were gathered in Tehran, according to state broadcaster IRIB, though the figure could not be independently verified. Participants chanted slogans common in Iran such as 'Death to America!' and 'Death to Israel!' The funeral ceremony took place at Revolution Square in central Tehran and the subsequent march led to Azadi Square (Freedom Square) in western Tehran.

Israel's attack on Iran constitutes strategic shift in regional conflict: TRENDS study
16 June 2025 00:26 ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)An analytical study by TRENDS for Research and Advisory observed that the massive Israeli attack targeting Iran on June 13, 2025, represents an unprecedented strategic shift in the nature of the conflict between the two countries and carries profound connotations as well as complex regional and international study prepared by the Strategic Studies Department at TRENDS. It considered the Israeli military operation, called 'The Rising Lion', crossed all the traditional red lines that had governed the confrontation between Tel Aviv and Tehran for more than four to the study, the Israeli attack on Iran constitutes a strategic turning point in the regional conflict and carries profound implications that extend beyond being a mere military strike. Politically, this attack reflects a clear shift in Israeli deterrence doctrine - from a policy of constructive ambiguity and limited strikes to a strategy of large-scale pre-emptive attacks targeting Iran's military and scientific infrastructure. This indicates that the Israeli strikes were not limited to physical infrastructure but also included the assassination of prominent figures in the Iranian military leadership, including Chief of Staff Mohammad Bagheri and Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC, Hussein Salami. In addition, 25 scientists were targeted, at least six of whom were confirmed study argues that these directives suggest Israel's conviction that conventional deterrence is no longer sufficient, and that it is preferable - regardless of the cost - to pursue military and nuclear success against study also indicated that the Israeli operation conveyed a clear message to the international community: Israel would not wait for diplomatic agreements concerning Iran's nuclear programme. Instead, it is prepared to act unilaterally to defend its national security, even if doing so entails the risk of escalation with Iran and its allies. While the study suggested that the escalation would remain within the framework of a limited confrontation, subject to careful calculations by both parties, it did not rule out the possibility of a broader war if diplomatic efforts failed and military operations extended to include the targeting of American interests.

Israel Iran war: Real mastermind behind Israeli attack is///attack was planned 2 years ago
Israel Iran war: Real mastermind behind Israeli attack is…, attack was planned 2 years ago Israel recently conducted deadly airstrikes on Iran, which shook the world. The real mastermind behind the attack was Israel's intelligence agency, Mossad. Operation Lion Rising was Mossad's plan, which was prepared two years ago. The purpose of the plan was to destroy Tehran's nuclear power and to demolish its defence network, making its army leaderless. The preparations for this operation were so secret that Iran's intelligence couldn't get a hint of it. Israel's intelligence agency Mossad conducted three different covert operations in Iran. The first was to fail the defence network, second was to destroy the surface-to-air missiles and the third was to completely destroy the ballistic missiles. The Israeli agents fitted devices in the Iranian system. As a result, when Israeli fighter jets started the attack, Iran's entire air defence system got jammed. The Iranian military could not even launch the missiles. Mossad Overshadowed the Human Network As per several reports, 20 top military commanders of Iran and 6 nuclear scientists were killed in the attack. . These included IRGC chief Hussein Salami, Army chief Mohammad Bagheri, Air Force chief Amir Ali Hajizadeh and Navy chief. Former head of Atomic Energy Organization Dr Fereydoun Abbasi and famous scientist Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi were also killed. The purpose of Israel's Mossad The main aim of Mossad was to make the Iranian army leaderless and to destroy its nuclear establishment, so there will be no nuclear program. In order to accomplish the mission, Israeli gents destroyed the radar and missile system, but also killed the commanders in their homes through targeted drone attacks. Following a recent attack, Iran's response has been muted. While the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued threats, Iran's capacity to retaliate appears to have been significantly hampered. Intelligence suggests that pre-emptive actions effectively neutralized Iran's defence capabilities and ability to respond effectively. Netanyahu's Gesture The day before the operation, Netanyahu visited the Western Wall, a significant act interpreted as preparation for a major undertaking. Operation Lion Rising's success demonstrated Mossad's prowess not only in lethal operations, but also in strategic planning and cyber warfare. The operation cemented Mossad's reputation as the world's most formidable intelligence agency.
