Huthi rebels target Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv
The spokesperson for the Huthi military, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, announced on Wednesday that Huthi forces had launched an attack on the Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv with a hypersonic ballistic missile, according to international media reports. Saree added that the operation successfully achieved its goal, causing millions to flee to shelters and halting airport operations. He confirmed that the drone air force carried out three operations against sensitive targets in Jaffa, Ashkelon, and Umm al-Rashrash. He explained that the Yemeni Armed Forces will continue their operations in protest against the genocide in Gaza. Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz vowed to respond to the attack, after the Israeli military intercepted a missile fired from Yemen toward Israel. 'The fate of Yemen is the fate of Tehran,' Katz said in a statement, referring to the 12-day conflict last month in which Israel targeted Iran's nuclear and missile programs. He continued: 'After we struck the head of the snake in Tehran, we will target the Huthis in Yemen as well. Whoever raises a hand against Israel will have their hand cut off.'

Barge sinks in Gulf of Suez, killing 4: Egyptian govt
Representative image CAIRO: Four people died and 22 others were injured after a barge in the Gulf of Suez sank, the Egyptian government said Wednesday. The barge Adam Marine 12 sank on Tuesday night, the health ministry said, without providing details of the cause of the capsizing. The four people who died were brought to Egypt's Hurghada hospital on the Red Sea coast, the ministry said on social media. Four injured people were airlifted and 18 others were transported by ambulance to another local hospital, it added. Egypt's petroleum ministry said on Facebook it had received a report from Offshore Shukheir oil Company (Osoco) that the barge capsized in the Gebel El-Zeit area in the Gulf of Suez. The area is around 300 kilometres (190 miles) south of the Suez Canal, a key waterway linking Europe and Asia. The canal accounted for about 10 percent of global maritime trade before Yemen's Huthis began attacking vessels transiting the Red Sea in late 2023. The Huthi rebels say their attacks are committed in solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, where Israel and militant group Hamas have been at war since October 2023

Israel Army Says Intercepted Missile Launched From Yemen
New Delhi: Israel's military said it intercepted a missile launched from Yemen on Tuesday, while the Huthis claimed to have also attacked Israel with drones. "Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in several areas in Israel, a missile that was launched from Yemen was intercepted" by the Israeli air force, an Israeli military statement said. Later, Huthi military spokesman Yahya Saree posted on Telegram that "the missile force of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a qualitative military operation targeting Lod Airport in the occupied area of Yaffa using a Palestine 2 hypersonic ballistic missile." He said the operation achieved its goal, "causing millions of herds of usurping Zionists to flee to shelters and halting airport operations." Following the interception, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said that "Yemen will be treated like Tehran," an apparent reference to the recent 12-day war between Israel and Iran in which Israel pummelled Iranian military and nuclear sites, as well as targets in the capital. "After striking the head of the snake in Tehran, we will also strike the Huthis in Yemen. Anyone who raises a hand against Israel will have their hand cut off," Katz said, according to a statement from his office. Yemen's Iran-backed Huthi rebels have launched repeated missile and drone attacks against Israel since their Palestinian ally Hamas's October 2023 attack on Israel sparked the Gaza war. Saree's Telegram post also mentioned drone attacks on "sensitive targets belonging to the Israeli enemy in the areas of Yaffa, Ashkelon, and Umm al-Rashrash in occupied Palestine." On Saturday, the Huthis said they fired a ballistic missile towards Israel, the first launch against Israel announced by the Huthis since the June 24 ceasefire between Israel and Iran which ended their 12-day war. The Huthis, who say they are acting in solidarity with Palestinians, paused their attacks during a two-month ceasefire in Gaza that ended in March, but renewed them after Israel broke the truce. Israel has carried out several retaliatory strikes in Yemen, targeting Huthi-held ports and the airport in the rebel-held capital Sanaa.
