Hwang Jung Eum's Remarriage Talk With Her Dad Is the Most Honest Family Moment Ever
When Hwang Jung Eum Dropped the Remarriage Bomb - And Her Dad Wasn't Having It K-drama queen Hwang Jung Eum just served up the realest family moment on TV, and honestly, every Indian youth who's ever had a "life choices" talk with their parents will relate. On a recent episode of 'Solo Raseo,' Hwang Jung Eum hit her dad with the ultimate curveball: "Should I remarry?" His response? A hard, classic dad-style NO. But it didn't stop there-he dropped the kind of wisdom that only comes from years of experience: "You never really know what's inside a person." Her dad's advice was clear: skip the remarriage, focus on yourself, and if you need companionship, just find a friend to share a glass of wine with at night. Above all, he told her to be a responsible mom to her kids, and if life ever gets overwhelming, she should always come to him-even if it's just to vent or get mad. Five Years, One Island, and a Lifetime of Sacrifice But the conversation wasn't just about marriage. Hwang Jung Eum took a moment to thank her dad for literally changing his whole life for her. After her first divorce, she moved to Jeju Island with her son to get some peace. Raising a child alone in a new place was tough, and her dad didn't hesitate-he packed up and moved to Jeju to be by her side. What started as a temporary stay turned into five years of island life, all because he wanted to support his daughter through her toughest times. She openly admitted on TV, "My dad lives in Jeju because of me." And you could feel the gratitude in her voice. It's that classic parent move-sacrificing everything for your child's happiness, even if it means starting over somewhere new. If you've ever seen your own parents make sacrifices for you, you know exactly how she felt. No Fairy Tale, Just Real Talk About Love and Trust The real kicker? Hwang Jung Eum's dad is a total realist. He reminded her of an old saying: "You can see ten fathoms into water, but you can't see into a person's heart." That's straight-up desi wisdom right there-never trust appearances, and don't rush into anything, especially marriage. Hwang Jung Eum laughed and said, "Dad's like a mind reader. If I ever get a new boyfriend, I'll have to get his approval first!" She also made it clear that she has zero intention of remarrying. Her focus is on her kids and herself, and she totally respects her dad's advice. And get this-she's just as supportive of her dad's happiness. She joked that he's never without a girlfriend, but said she respects his choices and just wants him to be happy. It's a two-way street of understanding that's honestly pretty rare and super refreshing.

‘No dispute over the facts': K-drama star Hwang Jung-eum faces court over RM13m crypto gamble
SEOUL, May 17 — South Korean actress Hwang Jung-eum is facing serious legal heat after admitting in court to taking 4.3 billion won (RM12.9 million) from her own talent agency and pouring most of it into cryptocurrency — a move her lawyer claims was meant to benefit the company. Korea JoongAng Daily reported that at the first hearing held Thursday at Jeju District Court, the 39-year-old Hwang stood trial on charges of embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes. 'There is no dispute over the facts of the case,' her lawyer said, confirming that Hwang had indeed withdrawn the funds from Entertainment, the agency she owns outright and which manages 30 actors including herself. Of the amount taken, around 4.2 billion won was funnelled into cryptocurrency investments, which her legal team insists was done with good intentions. 'The defendant invested in cryptocurrency with the intention of growing the company — and because corporations are not permitted to hold cryptocurrency, the investment was temporarily made under her personal name, which ultimately led to the offense in question,' the lawyer was quoted as saying. The defence also argued that since the agency's revenue 'ultimately stem[s] from the defendant's own work, they can be seen as rightfully belonging to her.' Korea JoongAng Daily said some of the damage has already been repaid by liquidating crypto assets, with the remainder to be covered by selling property. The court granted a delay in proceedings to allow for the full compensation plan to be executed. Hwang, who got her start in the early 2000s as a member of the girl group Sugar, has built a successful acting career with hit dramas such as She Was Pretty and Kill Me, Heal Me. She currently serves as the host of SBS Plus variety show Because I'm Single.
