Gogglebox's Scarlett Moffatt opens up on day that 'changed her life' leading to TV career

The Gogglebox star shared the day that changed the course of her life Scarlett Moffatt has shared one day that changed the course of her life, leading her into the a career in television. The well-known star initially won hearts on the popular television programme Gogglebox and after leaving in 2016, she sought new ventures. ‌ As a winner of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here and a frequent face on Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, Moffatt recently revealed to her admirers the transformative experience that "changed her life". ‌ She shared a TikTok video about one important moment as she wrote: "The day that changed my life!!". In the narration, she recounts: "Story time of how one kind act when I was 16 ended up with me getting a career in tv. Strap yourself in it's a long one." Engaging with her 821k TikTok followers, the star divulged that at 16, she had aspirations to be a dance or primary school teacher; however, her academic path was at risk by poor attendance, reports the Manchester Evening News. Moffatt added: "I was distraught. I came in this day thinking it was possibly my last ever day at this college with my friends and we decided to do what we always did and go for a jacket potato. Now normally my friend would always have her car, and for this day, this is where it starts getting crazy, she didn't bring her car in because there was something wrong with it." Moffatt said she soon met an elderly woman who seemed "a little bit lost" in the park, she had no clue that lending a hand would lead to a remarkable twist. Without recognition of who the woman was or her whereabouts, Moffatt eventually rang a number on the woman's phone belonging to someone at the college. ‌ The good turn saw Moffatt reunite the lady with her daughter as she recalled: "Then I went into the college and who was principle I had my meeting with but the very same daughter of that woman that I'd helped. She literally ripped up the agreement of the fact that I had to agree I hadn't played my role in the college because I hadn't been going to social studies." Although Moffatt feared she might lose her place in college, the random act of kindness paid off as she was permitted to continue. But she said: "This is when gets even crazier." She went on to say: "I then explained look the bus sometimes is so full that I end up missing it, it takes one hour and 15 to get home, I have to wait around is there anyway I can swap social studies class." ‌ Post class change, she met a friend who turned out to work in TV, reconnecting after college. This connection later unfolded into an opportunity as he was looking for people to be on a new show, Gogglebox. However, after a lack of interest, Moffatt agreed to be part of the show and her career subsequently took off. She confided in her fans: "Honestly if we hadn't have done Gogglebox, I definitely wouldn't be in the career I'm in now. I wouldn't have ended up doing I' a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here or Saturday Night Takeaway and all the wonderful things I've got to do which I still feel like how did I manage this, winging life." ‌ She later added: "I just think in world where you can do anything, be kind because you really don't know where it can lead you. "And the support came pouring in. One fan replied: "Good things happen to good people Scarlett kind heart repaid." Another wrote: "Amazing what's meant for you never passes you lovely story." A third replied: "That's an amazing story and just proves that a little kindness can go a long way. Miss you on Gogglebox btw." A fourth commented: "What a lovely heartwarming story Scarlett, thanks for sharing it with us." One person added: "Amazing, remarkable story Scarlett, you were destined for success, with your kind caring nature."

This morning, news broke that Kim Woodburn had died following a short illness. Shortly after, her beloved husband and former co-star shared their tributes to the Celebrity Big Brother icon. Elsewhere, a 'murdered' woman was found after a house exploded in Stoke Newington and our reporter went to visit Jeremy Clarkson's pub to see whether it was worth the hype. ‌ Kim Woodburn dies after short illness as beloved husband and co-star Aggie break silence ‌ This morning, our showbiz team broke the heartbreaking news that Kim Woodburn had died aged 83. The Celebrity Big Brother and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here icon, who shot to stardom for her no-nonsense attitude and witticisms on Channel 4 's How Clean Is Your House with Aggie MacKenzie, died on Monday. Her beloved husband-of-46-years Peter, who she lived with in their Nantwich, Cheshire home, is "heartbroken" over the loss of his soulmate. She was described as an "incredibly kind, caring, charismatic and strong person" by her loved ones, who were "so proud" of what she achieved in her career. A representative for Kim shared in a statement: "It is with immense sadness that we let you know our beloved Kim Woodburn passed away yesterday following a short illness." 'Murder' victim found in exploded house named as 'lovely' human rights lawyer A beloved mother-of-two and human rights lawyer has been identified as the woman found with fatal stab wounds after a house explosion this morning. A huge emergency response including six fire engines and 40 firefighters raced to the two-storey terraced house where an explosion had torn through the basement and ground floor of the east London residence. ‌ The victim has been formally identified as 46-year-old mother and human rights lawyer Annabel Rook, whose body was found with knife wound injuries after the explosion. Police arrested an as yet unidentified 44-year-old male on suspicion of murder before taking him to a major trauma centre in London for slash wound treatment. His injuries were not life-threatening, police said. Neighbours told The Mirror: 'She was a lovely lady - a very doting mother. I would always see her walking to school with her children. They go to school just around the corner." ‌ 'I drove 90 minutes to eat at Jeremy Clarkson's pub — two words summed it up' Nobody could have quite imagined the success Amazon would see after releasing Clarkson's Farm. However, fast forward to 2025, the former Top Gear star's agriculture show has just finished its fourth series, with a fifth series already on the way. This season saw Jeremy Clarkson invest in a pub, The Farmer's Dog, so our Deputy Content Hub Director, Steffan Rhys, went to go and check it out. He wrote: "There was a full-blown security and parking operation guiding arrivals into an enormous adjacent field with hundreds, if not thousands, of cars already parked in it. Visitors streamed like ants in formation between car park and pub and the stunned "bloody hell!" I heard from a fellow visitor pretty much sums up what I was thinking too. ‌ "I'd naively thought that, given I had a lunch reservation (secured easily, several weeks earlier, on the pub website) it would be a quiet affair. After all, only so many people can fit in a pub, right? Wrong. Oh, so wrong." Killer who stabbed his partner, neighbour and dog on Christmas Day learns fate ‌ A man who murdered his partner and neighbour and tried to kill his own son in an unprovoked and 'frenzied' attack after taking cocaine on Christmas Day has been jailed for life. Jazwell Brown attacked his partner Joanne Pearson with a kitchen knife at their home in Bletchley, Buckinghamshire, at around 6.30pm on December 25 last year. He stabbed her 31 times before turning the knife and a baseball bat on his son Jake Brown, with the youngster remarkably surviving his injuries. Brown went on to repeatedly stab Jo's dog Tilly, a Staffordshire bull terrier, who was later spotted on CCTV limping from the scene. Brown then headed next door to another flat and began attacking Teohna Grant. He also stabbed Teohna's boyfriend 29-year-old Bradley Latter who survived, while Teohna was also pronounced dead at the scene. Police previously said the dog had died, but they have since been informed Tilly survived. ‌ 'LEAKED' Premier League fixtures for 2025-26 season - but fans spot major issues As many football fans await the Premier League 's return, our sports team got their hands on a reportedly 'leaked' list of Premier League fixtures for the 2025-26 season. However, the list - which has been leaked and widely shared on social media platforms - is not as it seems. ‌ As is the case at this time of year, amid growing anticipation among supporters, social media has been awash with claims and fixtures coming to light early. One set in particular have been gaining quite a bit of traction. On the face of it, they look pretty legit. The usual font and layout used when the fixtures are actually released is certainly present. But dig a little deeper and issues arise. Most notable among them are a number of admin errors which, perhaps if you're only casting a casual glance and looking at the opening weekend, or even just for your club's full list, you wouldn't see.

Katie Price got 'gleeful' revenge on Victoria Beckham at Peter Andre wedding

When Katie Price married Peter Andre, she was reportedly delighted that she managed to seemingly get one up on her nemesis, Victoria Beckham, in the process It's 20 years this month since Katie Price and Peter Andre got secretly engaged after a lot of heavy petting in the Australian outback. The former It couple met on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here in 2004 and went on to tie the knot in September 2005 before welcoming son Junior, 19, and daughter Princess, 17. ‌ Sadly, their split in 2009 became the stuff of noughties nastiness, with both briefing against the other. But Katie's war with Peter isn't the only battle she fought valiantly. ‌ The headlines of the decade were also full of talk of her infamous feud with Victoria Beckham, who was then a Spice Girl. Their beef first started cooking in 2000 when Katie got jealous about Victoria's collaboration with her then-boyfriend, Dane Bowers. And the following year it got even more bitter when Katie claimed Posh and her mate sang Who Let The Dogs Out at her in Manchester United 's players' lounge. Victoria upped the ante by branding Katie 'vile' on national TV, before her nemesis sniped, "She's got a great-looking husband, a little boy, and all the money in the world. She hasn't got the looks, but you can't have everything." But despite Victoria's short-loved attempt to become a solo star aside, by the time Katie met Peter Andre on I'm A Celebrity, there was no denying that Brand Beckham was packing more of a punch. But everything changed when Katie and Peter got married and sold the rights for £1.75million - almost twice the cash Victoria and David got for their own wedding in 1999. ‌ "It was a measure of just how popular they were that the amount paid to cover their wedding was nearly double that of Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, a few years earlier," author Emily Herbert wrote in her book Katie and Peter: Too Much In Love. "Even the brightest stars in the Hollywood A-list were no match for Peter Andre and Katie Price. ‌ "As for the Beckhams, their own wedding had been bought up some years previously for just £1million, and given the rivalry between Katie and Victoria, still there despite Katie's placatory remarks, Katie could be forgiven for feeling a little gleeful." Neither wedding was short of extravagance. Katie's saw her arrive at Highclere Castle in Berkshire - aka Downton Abbey - in a pink Cinderella-style carriage pulled by six white horses. ‌ Not one to shy away from making a statement, she wore a princess-style pink tulle and satin dress designed by Isabell Kristensen, which boasted an epic seven-metre train. And her headwear was equally as impressive thanks to her foot-high tiara. Doves were apparently released from the skirt of her enormous gown before she and Peter took their place of thrones covered in pink and lilac flowers. Meanwhile, the Beckhams spent £500,000 on their OTT bash at Ireland's Luttrellstown Castle, with the bride walking down the aisle in a £77,000 custom-made Vera Wang gown topped off with a £25,000 with a gold and diamond tiara. ‌ They later changed into matching purple ensembles planned to twin with the carpets, and cut a cake topped with naked figurines of themselves with a sword. After saying 'I do', a single white dove was released and a flag was raised above the castle with the initials V. B. D for Victoria, their then baby son Brooklyn and David. Needless to say, neither scored an invite to the others' big day. ‌ Katie and Victoria initially started out as friends, touring the country with David and Dane to promote Victoria's 2000 single, Out Of My Mind. But Katie blamed hanging out with the Beckhams for her subsequent split from Dane, claiming it "changed" him. "He used to say 'Why can't we be like Victoria and David?' Like the way they were in love - which I thought we were," she said. ‌ "He just kept comparing everything. I think it went to his head that he worked for Victoria. He was always going away with her." What followed was years of barbs, with Katie accused VB of having "horrible teeth." Posh was even accused of changing a flight after learning she'd be on the same plane as Katie - which elicited a rather cutting response from her rep. The spokesman told the Daily Star: "Victoria doesn't get drawn into public tittle-tattle with anyone - let alone her. It's not her style. Sadly for her, Victoria's far too busy being what she is desperate to be - a success in America - to worry about this. "Victoria is launching her new primetime show on America's huge NBC network next week. While Victoria has her own show on US television, she is desperate to be recognised and make a name for herself - fighting to get a few cable viewers."

Louise Pentland admits 'really cool' after working with King Charles and Camilla

YouTube legend Louise Pentland has opened up about working with King Charles and Queen Camilla, as well as a special invite to the Monarch's private country house Louise Pentland has revealed she was left flustered after meeting King Charles. This, however, was not the YouTube icon's first meeting with the Monarch who ascended to the throne in 2022. The social media star who first launched her channel in January 2010 has gone on to amass over 195 million views on the platform, with a staggering 2.17 million followers. Louise, 40, was part of the original group of what are now known as social media influencers, alongside the likes of Joe Sugg, Caspar Lee, Jim Chapman, Marcus Butler, Niomi Smart, Tanya Burr, Zoe Sugg and Alfie Deyes. ‌ Collectively, the group were known as the Brit Crew – although this wasn't a name that they chose themselves. Since launching her channel and her blog, Louise has travelled the world and worked with some of the biggest brands, including her favourite, Disney – but she admits working with the King and Queen is one of her major highlights. ‌ "Really cool, it was really cool," she said of working with the then Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall in 2018. Louise went on to reveal to the Mirror: "It was a real honour, I worked with them a long time ago with YouTube around the now Queen Camilla's charity, Bookstart and that was amazing. "I got to meet the now King and I just thought 'Wow, what a once in a lifetime, incredible opportunity. I've followed them on everything they do and supported them; I really love the charities that they choose – I love that King Charles is all about conservation and preserving the art of craft. "Camilla is so into books and literacy, especially childhood literacy – I love that. I've followed them all this time." This is also a subject close to Louise's heart as a mum to Darcey, 14, and Pearl, seven. She added: "Last year, The King's Foundation, which was The Prince's Foundation, invited me to Highgrove – it was boujee. It was really cool, we had Afternoon Tea. "I went back at Christmas, met His Majesty The King, had a little handshake, had a little chat, and he had to move on. On the outside, I was cool and chill about it. I'll go as far as to say it was the best opportunity I've ever had. It was also incredibly generous because we each had our own three-tier little tray!" ‌ But while Louise has previously appeared on the likes of ITV's Lorraine and Loose Women, she admits she never knows what is around the corner with TV work, but has ruled out appearing on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!"Me on I'm A Celeb would be horrendous," she laughed joking that she wouldn't cope on the flight to Australia, let alone in the jungle. Almost two decades after launching her channel, Louise admits the biggest lesson she's learnt is that you can't please everyone. "It doesn't matter how good you are, how careful you are, how anything–you will never be able to please everyone," she said. While she can't please everybody, Louise says that knowing in your heart that you're being true to yourself is the biggest thing she has learnt. This was echoed when Louise announced a change to her YouTube channel, revealing she would no longer be creating content aimed at teenagers but instead, content for her older audience. She admits "a lot of people dropped off," but later found her again on new sites, including TikTok. ‌ Before YouTube, Louise wrote a blog that she set up while working as a receptionist in Liverpool after university, and she admits she could never have expected her career to take off in such a huge way. "I started a YouTube channel because I was like, oh, maybe the YouTube channel will help drive some traffic over to the blog. Then the YouTube Channel took off," she laughed. She went on to explain that she made YouTube her full-time role while on maternity leave with Darcey, admitting it's been the "most wonderful, amazing experience." She added: "Aside from motherhood, it's been truly the best experience of my life. I just never thought that it would go this well and I would have the experiences I've had." Away from the positives, though, Louise admits that there have been downsides to her career, but the positives outweigh these. ‌ Louise recently teamed up with Nivea for their I AM… Thiamidol campaign and has spoken about her experience with hyperpigmentation. "I'm 40 now, and the very first time I ever thought about skin in that way was when I was a teenager," she said. Louise revealed that while in the changing rooms of her all-girls school, a fellow student pointed out stretch marks, which she didn't even know were a thing. She said: "Because they had been sort of introduced to me in such a negative light, it has been hard to shake that off for my whole life. ‌ "Obviously, I've gone through different things in life that have changed my skin, I've gone through puberty and then pregnancy, twice. And now I'm starting the early days of the ageing process into a middle-aged woman, which I'm very glad to be doing, it's a privilege to age." Louise admits that she no longer feels negative and having a product which has Thiamidol in gives her a "bit of reassurance." Working with Nivea was a no-brainer for Louise as the brand aligned with her personal views, given its deep roots in families across the world. "To find a new product from them with Thiamidol is a little bit exciting," she gushed, before adding it was a "real honour" to be involved in the campaign alongside Dani Dyer, Louise Redknapp and Paul C Brunson. Working with Dani, Louise and Paul, she admits it was "really good," as her young daughter Darcey sat in the corner offering support on the photoshoot saying: "Slay queen!" "It was a lovely day, and the big billboard was really cool – it was so smooth and easy," she joked. At the age of 40, though, Louise admits the answer to having great skin is "a lot of water," before explaining that each night she does a "full proper cleanse" before going to bed. Despite being 40, Louise said she doesn't feel old but instead, feels "great." She said: "We do products like Nivea, Thiamidol, that do help with anything that you're worried about. It's not just hyperpigmentation, marks and all that sort of stuff. There's so many things out there to help with so many of the things you might be worried about and to give you the confidence that you want."
