As a part of her promotions for her latest single 'Extra', Jeon Somi starred on a popular variety show to talk about her career and new music. Somi recently starred alongside K-pop girl group NMIXX on a popular variety show titled 'L1VE WIRE'. During the show, she spotted Lily and ended up getting excited. She explained how the two had been friends for a long time and that at one point in their career, they both even trained together. Somi even ended up getting emotional, recalling the last time she bumped into her friend saying, "I ran into Lily at a university festival a while ago, and I couldn't believe how much she had changed. I really wanted to see her again, so I personally chose to invite NMIXX on this episode'. Jeon Somi is poised to make a comeback with a digital single in July, local media reported Thursday. Her agency The Black Label confirmed the news report on Friday, adding that she will put out the track 'Extra' on July 7. The label also unvieled a batch of black-and-white photographs of Jeon sporting a chin-length bob in platinum blonde. The upcoming single comes a year after her summer anthem 'Ice Cream,' a summer special dance number from 2024. On July 19, the performer will host a meet-and-greet in Seoul. She is planning a party-like event under the title 'Chaos.' Separately, speculations are rising that her former group I.O.I may reunite in time to mark the 10th anniversary of its debut. In light of the auspicious occasion, recent reports have revealed that the group might just be getting back together to release a new single next year! The group may be coming together as one to release a special single for fans next year for their anniversary. According to the report, since all of the members are involved and under different management, it is taking time to work out an effective schedule for everyone, though talks are still going on. The report also shared a statement which said that "There are many steps involved, since all of the members are represented by different companies. Recently, representatives from each company met up to discuss specifics such as the time frame and management for the first time. While it is difficult to adjust to everyone's schedules, it's clear that the members wish to make it happen."
