Driver dies after rollover crash on I-294 ramp
A driver died after a serious rollover crash on eastbound I-294 early Wednesday morning. According to Illinois State Police, a commercial vehicle lost control and rolled over on the southbound ramp to I-290 just after 4 a.m. State police said the driver was pronounced dead on the scene. The victim's identity has not been released. Police said the ramp will remain closed for several hours as crews work to clear the scene. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time. Pothole shuts down 2 lanes of I-294; several cars with tire blowouts
JUSTICE, Ill. — A pothole has shut down two lanes of I-294 in the Southwest Suburbs and several vehicles have tire blowouts. Authorities responded to I-294, near 83rd Street, just after 8:55 a.m. on the report of a large pothole. The right northbound lanes are expected to be closed for several hours, according to Illinois State Police. The pothole is approximately eight feet by three feet, police said. SkyCam9 over the scene shows that workers have been filling it in. Multiple vehicles are near the shoulder with tire blowouts. Illinois State Police said around 30 were affected. Tristate Tollway pothole damages cars; 2 lanes of southbound I-294 closed for emergency repair
A huge pothole on northbound I-294 damaged cars and led to two lanes being shut down for emergency repairs Monday morning. The right two lanes of the Tristate Tollway are blocked past 95th for emergency repairs. SkyWatch was over the scene and saw a large rectangular pothole about the width of an entire lane that crews were addressing to repair. Reports of cars being damaged began just before 9 a.m. Monday. SkyWatch saw at least nine cars along the side of the road with various types of damage, including flat tires. Crews were preparing to tow some of the cars. What caused the huge pothole to open up was not immediately known, but crews were working to get it filled as quickly as possible. How long the lanes are expected to remain closed was not immediately known.

Deadly wrong-way crash shuts down northbound I-294 in north Chicago suburb
A deadly crash shut down the northbound lanes on I-294 in Glenview, Illinois. According to Illinois State Police, a car was driving southbound in the northbound lanes and hit another car near Golf Road just before 2 a.m. The wrong-way driver was pronounced dead on the scene.
