NFL insider Ian Rapoport reveals why Justin Tucker is quietly accepting 10-game ban

Why Justin Tucker is serving a 10-game ban without appeal-Ian Rapaport explains the strategic move (Image credits: IG/X) Justin Tucker isn't fighting his suspension—but don't mistake that for surrender. In a calculated move that's caught NFL insiders' attention, the veteran kicker is accepting a 10-game ban without appeal, even as he denies serious misconduct allegations. With his NFL future uncertain and no team currently under contract, Tucker is playing the long game. This decision isn't just about damage control—it's a strategic pivot aimed at salvaging his career. Serving time without a team: Tucker's tactical choice NFL Network's Ian Rapoport broke down why Tucker isn't challenging the suspension despite maintaining his innocence. 'So, no appeal for Justin Tucker because he is not employed by a team,' Rapoport said, emphasizing the unique context. 'He can work out, can theoretically practice with a team… but cannot play in an actual game until after the ten weeks are over.' This allows Tucker to quietly serve the suspension now and return eligible—ready for a midseason team in need. A quiet deal between Tucker, NFLPA, and league The NFL chose not to hold a formal disciplinary hearing, instead resolving the matter through a confidential agreement. Tucker's career took a major hit after the Baltimore Banner published allegations from six massage therapists spanning 2012 to 2016. Following the report, the Ravens moved on from their longtime kicker after 13 seasons, drafting Tyler Loop in April. Once the NFL's most accurate leg, Tucker's performance slipped last year to a career-low 73.3% conversion rate. His $6M-per-year value now hangs in limbo as he forfeits an estimated $3.52M in missed games. Speaking to Harper's Bazaar, Bündchen reflected on the realities of raising their two children—Benjamin, now 14, and Vivian, 11—while navigating two very different parenting households post-divorce. Gisele Bündchen faced pushback from her kids while adapting to life after divorce Following her 2022 divorce from Tom Brady after 13 years of marriage, Gisele Bündchen found herself adjusting to new parenting dynamics. What's been said is one piece of a much bigger puzzle. It's not so black and white.' Though their marriage ended under intense public scrutiny, Bündchen has continued to carve out a space for herself independently. From wellness ventures to her rumored relationship with martial arts trainer Joaquim Valente, she's stepped away from the shadows of her ex. Despite being one of the world's most recognizable women, Bündchen insists she no longer seeks validation from the public. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Treatment That Might Help You Against Knee Pain (Search Here) Kneepain | Search Search Now Undo 'If I'm going to be affected by that, I'm never going to live my truth,' she told Harper's Bazaar. Threads Expands its Hidden Words Options

This story was originally published on Social Media Today. To receive daily news and insights, subscribe to our free daily Social Media Today newsletter. Threads continues to steadily separate from Instagram, and add more customization and control options, this time with an expansion of its 'Hidden Words' settings, so that you can block unwanted discussion from your experience. As you can see in these example screens, Threads has now added another element to its Hidden Words option, with an optional toggle to block offensive content, and/or set your own custom terms and emojis to filter out of your Threads experience. The update is an expansion on the Hidden Words features that Threads first launched back in April. As explained by Threads chief Adam Mosseri: '[The update] includes newly added custom filters to block words, phrases, and emojis in batches, with optional time limits. Threads is about fostering an open exchange of perspectives, and to do so people need to be able to shape the experience into one where they feel comfortable expressing themselves. This is just one more idea in support of that goal.' In terms of time limits, users can choose to block certain words, phrases, or emojis, and set an expiration date on that setting within 30 days. So if there's a topic that's really annoying you, or TV show spoilers you want to avoid, you can erase them from your view for a certain time. It's a significant update, in more ways than one, because up till now, Threads has primarily relied on your IG settings for the same, using your Instagram profile as a proxy for your Threads experience. But with Threads evolving into its own platform, the Threads team is now adding more options that are separate from Instagram. Which is a smart move. While it made sense for Meta to boost Threads take-up by integrating it with IG in its initial launch stage, the way that people now use Threads is, for most people at least, very different to what they come to Instagram for. As such, Threads needs its own settings, and its own processes, separate from your Instagram interactions and preferences, in order to build it into its own experience. The Threads team has already taken steps on this front, by removing Threads follow recommendations based on what you engage with on IG, while it's also testing the option to create a Threads profile without using your Instagram login. These are all important steps to separate the two, and enable Threads to grow into a new platform of its own. And with 350 million users, Threads should now have enough engagement insights, based on Threads activity in isolation, to have a clear understanding of engagement trends and interest graphs separate from IG. Providing Threads-specific controls is another step in this direction, as Meta looks to build it into the next billion-user platform. Is that even possible? I mean, Twitter/X has never exceeded 600 million users, so it does seem like the interest in a real-time, text-based social feed like this is limited. But maybe, if Meta can get it right, it could well overtake the growth of the format's originator at some stage. Sign in to access your portfolio

HC to SHO: Plant 1k fruit trees for not serving notice in rape case

Bhopal: A division bench of the MP High Court directed the station house officer (SHO) of Kotwali police station in Satna town to plant 1,000 fruit trees as punishment for not serving a High Court notice to a rape survivor. This notice was issued following an appeal by the accused in the case, who was sentenced to life by the trial court. The court further directed that the SHO concerned would bear the expenses incurred in planting the trees and would also look after them for a year. The SHO is required to send pictures to the registry of the MP High Court with GPS location. The SHO, who appeared in court, apologised to the judges and offered to undertake the plantation of fruit trees at Chitrakoot as a sign of remorse, in addition to paying Rs 5,000 penalty imposed by IG, Rewa, for the lapse. A sessions court in Satna sentenced Ram Avatar Chaudhary to life imprisonment on Oct 10, 2021, on the charge of rape. He filed a revision petition in the MP High Court against the trial court order. The High Court issued a notice to the rape survivor on Sept 30, 2024, with an instruction to Kotwali police station, Satna, to serve the notice on the rape survivor. However, the notice was not served on her. The bench of Justice Vivek Agarwal and Justice A K Singh, while accepting the request of the DHO, asked SP Satna to inspect the plantation site and submit a compliance report along with an affidavit. The court further asked the SHO to look after the trees for a year so that they properly grow and stated that the entire expenses of the exercise would be borne by the SHO himself. The case will now come up for hearing on Sept 16.
