After IIM Lucknow, 49% non-engineers in IIM Sambalpur's new MBA batch

IIM Sambalpur, among the newest IIMs in the country, has admitted 363 students across its flagship MBA and its newly launched MBA in Business Analytics (MBA-BA) programmes for the 2025–27 academic cycle. The institute has reported a slight tilt toward engineering backgrounds this year, with engineers comprising 51.24% of the incoming batch -- a modest 5% rise over shift is more evident in the MBA-BA course, where 61.7% of students have an engineering background. However, in the flagship MBA programme, the numbers are more evenly split: 49.68% engineers and 50.32% from non-engineering key feature of the new MBA-BA batch is that all students have prior work experience in several fields.
