Gossip mill: K-stars roasted for making their mums wash dishes, Sammo Hung opens Douyin account, K-pop girl group's bodyguard chokes and shoves fan
[embed] Being a manchild is never a good look. NCT's Doyoung made an appearance on the Korean reality show I Live Alone recently, and a segment of him visiting his parents' home was shown. The 29-year-old idol can be seen making noodles and dumping the dishes in the sink, saying: "If I leave them like this, Mum will wash up for me." Some of the show's hosts laughed, but Jun Hyun-moo revealed something more egregious: "Sometimes, when I know my mum will be visiting, I'll just let the dishes pile up." Im Woo-il called the 47-year-old "the most unfilial person" he'd spoken to in a while, while Park Na-rae called him an ingrate. As Hyun-moo tried to defend himself by gassing up his mum's grease-removal skills, Shinee's Key proclaimed that this offence was worth "20 slaps". Hyun-moo then dug his hole further by saying his mother is "better than a dishwasher" and Doyoung backed him up, saying mums are "just different" when washing dishes. Woo-il and Na-rae remained unmoved. Korean netizens were even harsher to Hyun-moo online, with a thread on the anonymous forum Theqoo calling them out. "To Korean men, women are just home appliances," a comment read. A netizen pointed out: "Isn't Jun Hyun-moo's mum at grandma-age by now?". Doyoung was also not exempt from criticism, with a netizen writing that leaving the dishes for your mum after cooking at her place was "just messed up". [embed] Sammo Hung opens Douyin account Sammo Hung remains hip and with the times even at 73. The veteran Hong Kong actor and martial artist started a Douyin account recently, and has amassed an impressive over 760,000 followers since his first post on June 5. In one video, he shared "60 years of wisdom" among a series of clips from his movies. "Failure is not frightening, it's the fear of failure that's truly daunting," he mused. "Failure is just a temporary setback, perseverance is the eternal attitude!" Ahead of Father's Day on Sunday, he posted a video with his son Timmy. Also included was a portrait of the three generations of his family: Him and his wife, Timmy and his wife and their two sons. K-pop girl group's bodyguard chokes and shoves fan A security staff member accompanying the new SM Entertainment girl group Hearts2Hearts is being called out for employing excessive force against a fan. In a video posted on TikTok by user Sovvsovv0, the bodyguard can be seen choking a fan with his arm and shoving her as the idols were headed into a train at an airport. On Korean anonymous forum Theqoo, netizens were alarmed by the incident, writing: "They're not bodyguards, they're just thugs." The original video has since been removed from TikTok and replaced by ones praising the man for his actions, claiming the woman was a sasaeng (obsessive fan). Another video by the same user shows the woman bumping into Hearts2Hearts member Ian, seemingly in a bid to photograph another member. @sovvsovv0 [english ver] So the girl who was held back by the bodyguard was actually a SASAENG (obsessive fan/stalker), not an ordinary civilian. That means the bodyguard was not at fault! He was simply doing his job — protecting the idol #hearts2hearts #하츠투하츠 #H2H ♬ somebody pleasure x angel baby - fdill Yet, some Korean netizens remained unimpressed. "Even if she was a sasaeng , choking and shoving someone like that is unbelievable," a comment read. [[nid:718804]] drimac@

No signs of forced entry in Park Na-rae's home: reports
Police investigating the theft of property, reportedly worth tens of thousands of dollars, from comedian Park Na-rae's residence in Seoul have found no signs of forced entry so far, local media reported Thursday. Park filed a police report Tuesday after discovering that certain valuables were missing from her home in Itaewon, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, the day before. According to her agency, the amount of the stolen property has not yet been determined. Investigators are looking into the possibility that the alleged theft may have been conducted by someone acquainted with Park, or that the theft occurred some time ago without her knowledge, meaning any signs of forced entry have been lost over time. Park is best known for the variety reality TV show "I Live Alone," of which she has been a regular cast member since 2016. As the program centers on the lives of the cast members living alone, Park's home has become widely familiar to the public. Park had previously expressed concerns over strangers unexpectedly showing up at her house. Park bought the detached house in a posh residential district in 2021, reportedly paying 5.5 billion won, or roughly $4.8 million at the time. Park's agency said Thursday it could not offer any additional information regarding the theft at this time. rladpdnjs1024@
