Juventus confident of signing Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho

Juventus are confident of winning the race for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, as per reports. Chelsea's failure to find an agreement with Sancho over a permanent transfer and their subsequent decision to send him back to Old Trafford has given INEOS a major headache. Advertisement Sancho is one of the highest-paid players at United but Ruben Amorim has no plans to reintegrate him into the first-team squad. Now, the club's hierarchy are looking to find a club willing to sign the Englishman and pay them a reasonable transfer fee for his services. Chelsea were obligated to sign him permanently for £25 million but they instead paid a £5m penalty fee to get out of the agreement. At the moment, Fenerbahce and Juventus have emerged as his strongest suitors, and a report in Italy suggests the Old Lady are in the driving seat for his signature. According to journalist Giovanni Albanese (via the Turkish outfit have 'taken a step back' as they feel United are nearing an agreement with Juve for Sancho. Advertisement The 25-year-old has 'approved' of a move to Turin but his wages remain a huge obstacle. He is currently on a €10m a year salary. However, the Serie A giants continue to work tirelessly to sign Sancho and are understood to be looking to sell Nicolás González to fund their pursuit. There's a feeling of confidence at Juventus due to Sancho's desire to join their project as well as United's willingness to find a compromise over his fee. United are also keen on adding new attackers to their ranks, having held talks to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. Amorim is also reported to be interested in AC Milan's Rafael Leao but any possible move may rely on United offloading the likes of Sancho and Marcus Rashford. Fabrizio Romano reveals what Man Utd plan to do after ‘no agreement' with Brentford on Bryan Mbeumo

Fabrizio Romano reveals what Man Utd plan to do after 'no agreement' with Brentford on Bryan Mbeumo Fabrizio Romano shares the latest updates on the thorny negotiations between Manchester United and Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo. Having acquired Matheus Cunha in recent weeks, the Premier League giants have identified the 25-year-old as their second desired attacking reinforcement. But while the Brazilian's contract with Wolves included a release clause that facilitated the process, the Reds are forced to find an agreement with the stubborn Brentford for the Cameroonian winger. Advertisement MUFC had opened up with a £45m plus £10m bid that was understandably rejected, with the Bees setting their initial asking price at £70 million. Many believed the two clubs would find a compromise somewhere down the middle, so INEOS took their time before launching a new and improved offer, believing it would unlock the situation. Nevertheless, Brentford remain defiant, continuing to seek higher figures. Man United still hoping to find agreement with Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo (Photo by) In the latest video update posted on his official YouTube channel, Romano tries to make sense of the whole situation. Advertisement The Italian journalist confirms that the two clubs have yet to find an agreement on Mbeumo. As he explains, Brentford believe the 25-year-old is worth more, based on the figures paid for other players in the past. This could be a reference to the likes of Rasmus Hojlund, Jadon Sancho and Antony. Nevertheless, Romano reveals that Man Utd remain confident and optimistic. The management is determined to reach the finish line, so they continue to negotiate with their Premier League counterparts in the hopes of bridging the gap. Mbeumo's keen desire to join Man Utd could be fundamental The transfer market expert also reiterates that Mbeumo had long given his favour to United, refusing all other destinations. Hence, the player's clear desire to join the Old Trafford outfit could be an instrumental factor in this soap opera. Mbeumo is coming off a sensational campaign, scoring 20 goals in the Premier League, including some absolute screamers. Hence, Man Utd aren't willing to let him slip through their fingers, especially after striking an agreement with his entourage on personal terms.

Leicester City confirm Man United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club

Leicester City have confirmed Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the King Power Stadium by mutual consent after joining the Foxes from Manchester United midway through last season. Van Nistelrooy returned to United last summer to join Erik ten Hag's coaching staff as INEOS sought to overhaul the dugout at Old Trafford. Advertisement The club had reached the decision to extend Ten Hag's contract by twelve months following a comprehensive end-of-season review after a dismal campaign for the Red Devils. Initially, United had chosen to dismiss the Dutch manager and sounded out potential replacements, including Ruben Amorim, but reversed their decision after these negotiations proved unsuccessful. This led to Van Nistelrooy's appointment as an assistant to Ten Hag in a bid to bring more personality and fresh ideas to the training pitch at Carrington. But it was to little avail as United began last season in a similar vein to the previous campaign. By the end of October, INEOS had reached breaking point and, for the second time that year, chose to sack Ten Hag – except this time they followed through. Advertisement Van Nistelrooy was appointed interim manager while the club conducted a search for Ten Hag's replacement, quickly settling on Amorim, despite technical director Jason Wilcox having raised concerns over the Portuguese coach in May. In Van Nistelrooy's four matches in charge, United won three games and drew one, ironically beating Leicester twice – once in the league and once in the Carabao Cup. But Amorim's arrival in November, bringing with him his coaching staff from Sporting CP, left no room for Van Nistelrooy and the pair agreed an exit for the former striker was the best option. Yet Van Nistelrooy was immediately thrust back into a managerial role after Leicester chose to sack Steve Cooper, identifying the 48-year-old coach as the man to help their fight against relegation. It proved a disastrous decision, however. Advertisement Leicester became the first club in Premier League history to go nine games without scoring as the Foxes won just five games under Van Nistelrooy in 27 attempts. They were relegated in April with five games left to play and finished 10 points adrift of safety. There was widespread expectation Van Nistelrooy would be sacked ahead of the Midlands club's return to the Championship – and this was confirmed today in a public release on the club's website. Tweet: 'Leicester City Football Club and Ruud van Nistelrooy have mutually agreed that Ruud's contract with the Club as First Team Manager will terminate with immediate effect.' Club president urges Man Utd to sign 8-goal EPL striker: 'Gyokeres would struggle'

Manchester United have been told to forget about Viktor Gyokeres and turn their attention towards Everton striker Beto. The Red Devils were abysmal in front of goal in the 2024/25 season, as depicted by Rasmus Hojlund's four-goal tally in the Premier League. Advertisement Therefore, the club has been working on a major attacking overhaul this summer. They have already booked Matheus Cunha, while Bryan Bentford is expected to follow suit, especially following reports of an agreement between MUFC and Brentford. Nevertheless, INEOS are still determined to add an out-and-out striker to their ranks, but they haven't been able to find a breakthrough on any track, despite being linked to a plethora of possible candidates. Man United told they have a better option than Viktor Gyokeres (Photo by) While many thought that a reunion between Gyokeres and Ruben Amorim could be on the cards, this has proven to be a complicated deal, especially with Arsenal seemingly ahead in the race. Advertisement However, the president of Portuguese club Uniao Tires, Fernando Lopes, believes Man Utd are better off without the Sweden international, urging them to sign his old pupil Beto. The 27-year-old is a youth product of Tires who went on to make a name for himself in Serie A during his time at Udinese, earning a £20 move to Everton in the summer of 2023. 'Everyone thought Amorim would sign Gyokeres as he had him at Sporting, but the Premier League is completely different to Portugal,' said Lopes in his interview with The Sun (via the Manchester Evening News). 'Teams are more physical and compact at the back, it's quicker and more competitive. Gyokeres would struggle to play as the lone No. 9 waiting for service. Beto's a more physical player, who fights with defenders and doesn't lose duels. He's a real headache for opponents – if he gets the service.' Would Beto be the answer for Ruben Amorim and Man United? This is certainly a bold claim considering the vastly contrasting figures recorded by Gyokeres and Beto over the past couple of seasons, as the latter only scored eight goals in the Premier League this season, and 12 in all competitions. Advertisement Nevertheless, Lopes insists that the Portuguese bomber is exactly what Amorim and United need at the moment. 'In their golden era, United always scored a lot of goals from set-pieces, but haven't had a proper striker for many seasons. Nowadays, teams have small, quick strikers or a false forward because there's an obsession for possession of the ball. 'Beto represents the typical old style, because of his physique, power and work-rate, plus he's very fast. He'd be like Amorim's ace up his sleeve in a game of poker.'

‘Medical next week': Journo drops huge United signing bombshell with news that'll be music to Amorim's ears

Manchester United appear to have finally reached an agreement with Brentford for the transfer of Bryan Mbeumo. In what comes as a welcome update for the Old Trafford faithful, journalist Alex Crook revealed on Thursday evening that Mbeumo's 'medical at MUFC [is] expected to take place next week'. Advertisement On Monday, United submitted a second offer for their priority target after failing with their opening £45 million — plus £5m in add-ons — proposal. It's thought their follow-up bid was in excess of £60m all-in, which was closer to Brentford's demands. United close in on second summer signing in the form of Bryan Mbeumo Mbeumo has been at Brentford since 2019. (Photo by) It meant that there were only the finer details to hash out between the two clubs, especially since Mbeumo had already green-lit his move to the Red Devils at the start of the month, rebuffing interest from Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur in the process. Advertisement He is poised to join Matheus Cunha as INEOS' only summer acquisitions thus far, and it's safe to say they'll need to pull their fingers out and get to work on more reinforcements when the Bees talisman is through the door. Mbeumo can revitalise Amorim's lacklustre attacking contingent The 25-year-old will kickstart 2025/2026 in hopes of building on the career-best campaign he oversaw last time out. Mbeumo's goal on the final day of the term meant he broke the 20-goal barrier for the first time in the Premier League, while he also contributed eight assists. To make the signing even more exhilarating for Amorim, the forward was available to start every single league fixture of 2024/2025 and he played a total of 3,417. In comparison, United's most dependable figure, Bruno Fernandes, featured for 3,023 minutes in the top flight. Advertisement When Mbeumo's arrival is signed and sealed, suitors will need to be sought for outcast quartet Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho to replenish the transfer kitty.
