Ravi Shastri Makes Major Reveal On Vaibhav Suryavanshi: 'He Has Been Offered With...'

Last Updated: Ravi Shastri has lauded 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi for managing fame well under Rahul Dravid's guidance. Former India head coach Ravi Shastri has revealed that while prodigal talent Vaibhav Suryavanshi has already received quite a few lucrative endorsement deals, he is handling the fame well and with Rahul Dravid by his side, the former Indian cricketer is helping him stay grounded. After two 40+ and one 80+ score, Suryavanshi blasted his way to a 78-ball 143, a knock studded with 10 fours and 13 sixes. Suryavanshi first made headlines during the IPL 2025 mega auction, when he was bought by the Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1.1 crore, becoming the youngest ever to be picked in the history of the IPL Auction. En route to scoring 101 off 38 deliveries, Suryavanshi smashed the second-fastest hundred in Indian Premier League history and the youngest ever to do so. Shastri, besides Michael Atherton and Dinesh Karthik, was left with no choice but to hijack the India vs England broadcast with the mention of Suryavanshi, revealing that the latter has already been approached for some lucrative endorsement deals. 'I was speaking to Kumar Sangakkara at the back of the box yesterday, and he said he's been flooded with endorsement offers already, but how he's handling it is very important. He has got a good bloke in Rahul Dravid there. He's a mentor, a coach. He is keeping him on the ground. My word, what a talent at 14," Shastri said while commentating. With this explosive innings, Suryavanshi has become the youngest Indian to score a Youth ODI hundred, breaking Sarfaraz Khan's 10-year-old record. Sarfaraz had scored a hundred at 15 years and 338 days against South Africa U19 12 years ago. Suryavanshi's knock also shattered the record for the fastest Youth ODI hundred ever. Pakistan's Kamran Ghulam held this record for his 53-ball century against England U19 in 2013.

IPL 2026 Trade Window Explained: Key Dates, Rules, And What It Means For Franchises Ahead Of Auction

IPL 2026: With IPL 2025 wrapped up, the focus has quickly shifted to team reshuffling for the 2026 season. The IPL trade window, a crucial part of the league's team-building process, is now open and buzzing with activity as franchises look to rebuild, strengthen, or re-balance their squads well ahead of the next auction. What is the IPL Trade Window? The IPL trade window is a designated period before and after the auction when franchises are allowed to trade players. Teams can exchange players in two ways — via all-cash deals or player-to-player swaps. This system allows franchises to better prepare for the upcoming auction and season by dealing with surplus players and plugging gaps in their lineup. Hardik Pandya's Blockbuster Transfer One of the most talked-about trades in recent history was that of Hardik Pandya. After leading Gujarat Titans to a title win in their debut season (2022), Pandya was traded back to his former team, Mumbai Indians, ahead of IPL 2024. The move, executed as an all-cash deal, highlighted how impactful and high-profile the trade window can be. When Is the Trade Window Open? The IPL trade window operates in two phases, both of which are crucial in the player movement cycle: Phase 1: Post-Season to Pre-Auction Opens: 9 AM IST, seven days after IPL 2025 ended (i.e. June 10, 2025) Closes: 5 PM IST, seven days before the 2026 IPL Auction This gives franchises ample time to initiate trades after reviewing their 2025 performances and deciding on strategic changes before heading into the auction room. Phase 2: Post-Auction to Pre-Season Opens: 9 AM IST, the day after the IPL auction ends Closes: 5 PM IST, 30 days before the 2026 season begins For instance, if the IPL 2026 auction concludes on December 10, 2025, this second window will begin on December 11, 2025, and close on February 22, 2026, assuming the season starts on March 22, 2026. Trade Window Rules - Players can be transferred only with their consent. - Trades can be cash-based or player swaps. - Each transfer must be approved by the IPL Governing Council. Why the Trade Window Matters The trade window provides an early opportunity for franchises to make key decisions and align their squads with their vision for the upcoming season. It's not just about correcting past mistakes it's a platform to take bold steps and make calculated moves to chase IPL glory. As the IPL 2026 season inches closer, all eyes will be on which teams seize the opportunity in the trade market and which blockbuster transfers shake up the balance of power in the league.

Kavya Maran Breaks Silence On Viral IPL Memes, Cameraman Manages To Find Me

Kavya Maran, the co-owner and face of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), has finally addressed what social media has turned into a seasonal ritual—her emotional reactions during IPL matches becoming viral meme material. In an era where owners are often elusive or camera-shy, Kavya has become a central figure, not just in the boardroom but in the stands, embodying the pulse of the Orange Army with every ball bowled. In an exclusive and candid interview, the SRH boss opened up about being at the epicenter of the meme storm, driven purely by her passion for the game. 'Those are my raw emotions,' Kavya told InsideSport. 'Even when I'm tucked away in a box far from the field, the cameraman somehow finds me. I understand why it becomes a meme—it's real, unfiltered.' From Auction Star to Fan Favorite Kavya first stole the limelight during the 2023 IPL Auction, where her poise and authority as SRH's top decision-maker drew widespread praise. Since then, she has transformed into more than just a business executive—she's become the face of a franchise constantly battling for resurgence in the IPL's elite tier. While other owners stay behind the scenes, Kavya's in-your-face fandom has struck a chord with fans. Her range of emotions—from nail-biting tension to euphoric celebrations—mirrors what millions of cricket lovers feel, making her instantly relatable. Sunrisers Hyderabad: A Team Reborn SRH, under Kavya's watch, has undergone a dramatic transformation. Once seen as perennial underachievers post their 2016 title win, the franchise has regrouped with power-packed signings such as Travis Head, Pat Cummins, and Heinrich Klaasen. The result? A formidable unit that reached the final in 2024 and consistently challenged the best teams in the league. Despite a middling 2025 season—finishing sixth with just six wins—the team's long-term vision seems firmly on track. Kavya's commitment is evident not just in the Indian Premier League but also in the global T20 arena. She oversees Sunrisers Eastern Cape, SRH's sister team in the SA20 League, which won back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024 under Aiden Markram. 'I Wear My Heart on My Sleeve' In her own words, 'When it comes to Sunrisers, I genuinely wear my heart on my sleeve. I've put my heart and soul into this franchise. When we win, it's euphoric. When we lose, it hurts personally.' That honesty resonates with fans, and it's the reason her every reaction—cheering wildly, gasping in despair, or anxiously watching from the VIP box—spreads like wildfire across social platforms. She's not acting for the cameras; she's just being herself. And in a world where curated content dominates, that authenticity is rare—and meme-worthy. Memes, Media & a Modern Owner's Brand The media frenzy around Kavya Maran isn't just driven by curiosity but by visibility. In the age of IPL fandom, a franchise's brand is no longer limited to its players—it extends to its backroom staff, owners, and everything in between. Kavya's passionate presence, captured endlessly by television cameras, has made her a symbol of the SRH spirit. What was once viewed as unusual—an owner so emotionally involved—is now a strength. Her visibility has given Sunrisers Hyderabad a stronger connection with their fanbase, especially Gen Z and millennials, who value raw emotion over corporate stoicism.

Virat Kohli goes down memory lane: When he bagged a Rs 20 lakh contract at IPL Auction

Virat Kohli plays a shot during IPL 2025. Virat Kohli is one of the few players who has been part of every season of the Indian Premier League ( IPL ) which is now in its 18th season. The star Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter went down memory lane to recall the moment when he was picked by RCB, and surprisingly not his state association in Delhi. Kohli recalled the moment when he was still an up and coming cricketer. He was in Malaysia when the IPL Auction took place. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW!120682303 "The first year was exciting in terms of unexpected things happening. We hadn't played a lot of T20 cricket . Secondly, franchise cricket allowed us to play with different players from all over the world—players we looked up to," he recalled on JioHotstar's '18 Calling 18' show. "When the auction happened, we were in Malaysia, in Kuala Lumpur, and we were sold as first-class cricketers, who were limited to Rs 20 lakhs. We went crazy in the corridor—'We got Rs 20 lakhs!' That was the emotion behind it. Because we didn't know what to expect—the opening ceremony, the whole experience of meeting great cricketers—it was surreal." Reflecting on IPL's growth over the years, Kohli expressed his amazement at the league's evolution. "It's been a long journey—one that we have seen grow, evolve, and become this amazing spectacle. Honestly, when IPL started, I never thought it could reach a stage like this. But 18 years and rolling, and every year you feel the same excitement, if not more, which is a massive credit to the league, the way it's organised, the teams, the competitiveness, and the professionalism—top-notch," he shared. RCB's next match is against Chennai Super Kings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday (May 3). Alongside CSK vs Mumbai Indians, it is one of the most tantalising rivalries in the IPL. Kohli shared his experiences about the intense rivalry between CSK and RCB, particularly highlighting how traveling CSK fans create an electrifying atmosphere during matches in Bengaluru by securing tickets early and dominating sections of the stadium. "I would say one team that, historically, I've felt we've had the most intense games with is Chennai Super Kings in Bengaluru," Kohli stated. "Because in Chennai, of course, there are Chennai fans—it's just yellow and CSK fans everywhere. But to play against CSK in Bengaluru is something else, because a lot of Chennai fans come to Bengaluru. CSK fans travel in huge numbers, so they buy tickets very early and take over a section of the stadium," he explained. "So, there's an intense atmosphere inside the stadium in Bengaluru when playing against CSK. And then, obviously, the game also gets very intense and competitive. That environment is the most exciting I've been a part of," Kohli added.
