Potato queen Poppy O'Toole finally ties knot after mortifying wedding blunder
Poppy O'Toole has taken to social media to show off some gorgeous wedding day snaps, but the TikTok star dropped another startling revelation. The ITV This Morning and self-styled 'Potato Queen' star shared how she organised her wedding to partner of 15 years Tom Shattock in just four week. The 32-year-old admitted it was an "unconventional" day, as they failed to give at least 29 days' notice before the ceremony. Read more: Anyone with a bank account urged to come forward for free £715 payment Failing to give the required notice of marriage can prevent a wedding from taking place on the intended date. If couples fail to give 29 days notice, the ceremony may need to be rescheduled, and additional fees may be incurred for rebooking. In the end, the couple took care of all the "official stuff" in Redditch, not forgetting to take a series of snaps outside the registry office. Despite it not being a traditional day, it didn't dampen Poppy's spirits, as she took to Instagram to share in the joyous news. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Poppy O'Toole (@poppy_cooks) Poppy wrote: "Well you know how we organised a wedding in like four weeks… turns out you need to give at least notice 29 days notice and we forgot haha. Very us. "Unconventionally we had our 'wedding' two weeks ago where we wrote our own vows and had our friend lead the ceremony (she did amazing) so although it wasn't 'official', it was the best day of my life!! "So this morning we did all the official stuff at the registry office (shout out Redditch xx) with just our parents. We didn't have a photographer so Tom decided to do a little photoshoot of me in the waiting room on his iPhone. Very glam. Very high fashion. "Then our Moms signed the papers as witnesses and it was all very lovely. "Moral of the story: it doesn't matter where you are in the world, if you're with the people you love and having a laugh, you're very very lucky. "I had South of France on my mood board but Redditch will do xx"

ITV This Morning exposes dangers of 'cosmetic cowboys' after guest hospitalised from botched Botox
ITV This Morning exposes dangers of 'cosmetic cowboys' after guest hospitalised from botched Botox This Morning guest Lynsey Wanless has spoken out about the dangers of 'cosmetic cowboys' after she was rushed to hospital when a 'fake Botox' injection left her unable to breathe A woman has recounted the harrowing experience of being rushed to hospital after receiving 'fake Botox' injections. On the episode of This Morning aired on Monday (July 14), viewers heard from three guests who shared their troubling experiences with botched cosmetic procedures. In a striking revelation, Lynsey Wanless expressed how she felt her "body shutting down" merely nine days post-reversal of the injections. Ahead of the show, she disclosed: "I went to get botox in someone's house, I've had it before so I didn't think it would be an issue." She elaborated further: "I had no idea anti-wrinkle treatments could be dangerous but nine days later I was in hospital. I felt like my body was shutting down and I couldn't breathe. This has ruined my life," reports the Mirror. Three women appeared on This Morning to share their real-life stories and the reality of botched procedures (Image: ITV ) Article continues below A survey brought to light by This Morning demonstrated that half of the women who have partaken in non-surgical cosmetic enhancements sought medical help after their procedures, with a worrying 15% requiring hospitalisation or emergency services. The talk show focused on these alarming statistics to enhance viewer knowledge about the surge of unqualified practitioners in the booming aesthetics sector and provided advice on what to watch out for when considering such treatments. The inquiries revealed that an alarming amount of these aesthetic treatments took place in informal environments such as someone's living room or kitchen. Moreover, respondents indicated that half of the time these services were not performed by medically trained professionals. Discussing the startling findings, This Morning's resident GP Dr Zoe Williams expressed her concern: "I was shocked by the results of our This Morning survey. I understand that cosmetic procedures are highly attractive and a low price tag is incredibly tempting but I urge our viewers to be vigilant, advocate for themselves and ask questions to ensure the treatments they are receiving are safe." This Morning's GP Dr Zoe Williams was left 'shocked' by the results on the This Morning survey (Image: ITV ) She further advised: "As an absolute minimum you should have evidence that the person is appropriately qualified and if injectables are being used, knowledge of who has prescribed them." On Tuesday, July 15, This Morning regular Ashley James will share her personal experiences. She said: "There's so much shame and secrecy surrounding non-surgical cosmetic procedures, and yet so many people – especially women – are having them, whether they admit it or not. "This Morning's investigation made me realise that I'd never thought to check whether anyone giving me botox was medically qualified, or whether the products being used were licensed in the UK. I'd just assumed they were. That's frightening. I wish I'd known more about the risks from the start, and I know I'm not alone." In the upcoming discussions on the programme, viewers will also receive valuable advice and information from Save Face, who manage a Government-approved register to help locate accredited practitioners. In addition, the show's regular hosts from Monday to Thursday, Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, are gearing up for their yearly summer hiatus. He has embraced this role, making it distinctly his own through his engaging interactions. However, on Saturday (July 12), Jake, also known for his stint on I'm A Celebrity, took to Instagram to share that he had sustained an injury during the gruelling Yukon 1000 boat race. Jake and his fitness trainer companion Matty Green had to pull out of the arduous competition when Jake injured his wrist. Sharing his disappointment and determination, Jake posted: "It was fun while it lasted, I can say was the most amazing, scary and utterly bonkers 36 hours I've had in my life. Already so p***ed off ready to try again next year. "Sometimes the universe tells you something isn't right and this time I listened and we had to get out, I wanted to get home to my kids and wife, I lost my dad young and it affects me everyday I didn't want that for my lads," Jake shared. Despite initially making a strong start, Jake recounted how their challenge took a turn when they were hit by a wave and capsized. "I couldn't get my spray deck off and was under water what seemed like 3 minutes when I came up I was pretty panicked and we had to swim the boat back to the side luckily we wasn't in the middle or it could have been bad, got the water out, the boat got dry and managed to set off again after losing about an hour, just when we got moving the pedal of the boat snapped and we couldn't turn left." Jake then began to question whether they were meant to continue. "This is when I was like is this meant to be, I believe in all that stuff and felt like we were being told to get out, we didn't listen we fixed the boat but by this time the storm had hit and we needed to camp to shelter from the wind and rain and the lake which if we hadn't have gone in we would have been off was now too dangerous to paddle on and I'm so glad we don't risk trying. "We camped bear spray in hand and woke up around 3.30am after now losing 8 hours of time. We packed up got in the boat and wanted to push on we finished the 17k of the lake and we was on the river and ready to push on and try and make the cut off time, as we was celebrating making the river, we hit a boiling eddy that pulled us under and spat us out like nothing," he recounted. Jake Quickenden with fitness trainer Matty Green (Image: Instagram: @jakequickenden ) Jake went on: "We came up and was about to go down the river for I don't know how long ( which could have been bad) when out of nowhere again like it was meant to happen. Kyle and Mel, two American travellers who just happened to have finished fishing, jumped in the canoe and pulled us to the side. "They were honestly angels and I personally think they stopped something really bad from happening. We got dry and realised I had a pretty beat up wrist and a broken boat and after 4 bits of bad luck we should call it. Article continues below "So we called it and for me and matty that's a hard thing to do, we knew we probs wouldn't make the cut off time in Dawson, not with the boat and my wrist, and like I said something felt off like it's was trying to get us off that river everytime something went good something terrible brought us back down to earth." Acknowledging that 'sometimes you fail that's life', Jake expressed gratitude to his supporters for their 'love and support', revealing he had 'learnt more over 48 hours than ever before'. Fiona Phillips' husband recalls 'utterly gut-wrenching' moment she was diagnosed
Fiona Phillips' husband Martin Frizell has shared the story of the moment the TV presenter was diagnosed with Alzheimer's aged 61. The GMTV host, now 64, and her husband have been candid about the impact of the early-onset version of the memory disease since going public with her diagnosis in 2023. In a new interview ahead of the publication of Fiona's new memoir, Remember When: My life with Alzheimer's, Martin opened up about the process of writing the book, his wife's deteriorating health, and the 'dreadful' day the doctor delivered the life-changing diagnosis. 'We went to [the hospital] to get the results of tests, and the consultant said: 'I'm sorry, but I believe it's Alzheimer's.' And it's like, oh. Gulp. Then he said, 'I'll go and get you a cup of tea, here's some reading for you.' 'He pushed a leaflet across the table and on the front cover was an old couple, with a Zimmer frame, basically saying: 'How to live well with Alzheimer's.' It just doesn't relate to you,' the former ITV This Morning editor told The Telegraph. In the book, he adds further details of how the image of Fiona as a 61-year-old wearing 'skinny jeans and heels' didn't match up to the image of a 'degenerative disease for old people'. He added: 'It shouldn't be happening to someone as young as Fiona. It was utterly gut-wrenching. Sickening. We just looked at each other. S**t! What are we going to do now?' Martin offered his support in the creation of the memoir, going from writing a 'few paragraphs' to '24,000 words' as he moved from 'writing about what a great woman she is' to expressing his anger at the lack of support for people with early-onset Alzheimer's. Both Fiona's parents were diagnosed with Alzheimer's, even so she chalked her 'brain fog' down to menopause before she discovered the truth. The married couple of 28 years, parents to sons Nat, 26, and Mackenzie, 23, underwent genetic testing to confirm that the disease wasn't hereditary with the blood tests 'coming back negative'. Early-onset Alzheimer's is also known as young-onset dementia or younger-onset Alzheimer's. It is the label given to anyone who receives a diagnosis before they turn 65. According to Alzheimer's Research UK, an estimated 70,800 people with dementia in the UK have young onset, and Alzheimer's disease accounts for around one in three cases of young onset dementia. It is thought at least five in every 100 people with Alzheimer's are under 65, however the figure may be higher. According to the NHS, the symptoms of Alzheimer's can begin with usually minor memory problems, but can develop into: confusion, disorientation and getting lost in familiar places difficulty planning or making decisions problems with speech and language problems moving around without assistance or performing self-care tasks personality changes, such as becoming aggressive, demanding and suspicious of others hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that are not there) and delusions (believing things that are untrue) low mood or anxiety Elsewhere in the memoir, Martin explained that he had wished she had been diagnosed with 'cancer instead'. More Trending 'It's a shocking thing to say, but at least then she might have had a chance of a cure, and certainly would have had a treatment pathway and an array of support and care packages,' he said. Martin now supports Fiona in 'day-to-day' activities like cooking, brushing her teeth, showering and dressing her, all with the support of a trained carer. As for the media personality, she has found discussing her life now 'agonisingly difficult'. View More » 'Sometimes I get halfway through a sentence and I can't remember where I was heading with it or the word I was looking for. It feels awful,' she said, comparing her condition to 'trying to chase a £5 note that's fallen out of your purse on a gusty day'. Got a story? Cat and former Good Morning Britain host Ben stepped in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield last year. Phillip's exit followed the disclosure of his "unwise but not illegal" affair with a younger colleague, while Holly departed later due to personal reasons. The summer presenting roster for This Morning comes following a raft of alterations to its morning shows. Lorraine will be trimmed down to a 30 minute slot, broadcasting from 9:30am to 10am for 30 weeks annually on a seasonal rotation. Good Morning Britain will expand to three and a half hours, stretching to four hours during Lorraine's hiatus. Loose Women is set to revert to a 30 week schedule. These adjustments are slated to commence from January 2026 next year. Kevin Lygo, ITV's Media and Entertainment Division Managing Director, commented: "Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust as well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres." He further remarked: "These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations and expand our national, international and regional news output and to build upon our proud history of trusted journalism at a time when our viewers need accurate, unbiased news coverage more than ever." This Morning will retain its usual weekday slot from 10am to 12.30pm, albeit with a new backdrop as the show moves to an updated studio in central London. Article continues below Kevin Lygo further commented: "I recognise that our plans will have an impact on staff off screen in our Daytime production teams, and we will work with ITV Studios and ITN as they manage these changes to produce the shows differently from next year, and support them through this transition. "Daytime has been a core element of ITV's schedule for over 40 years and these changes will set ITV up to continue to bring viewers award-winning news, views and discussion as we enter our eighth decade."
