HYDERABAD: An Air India Express flight bound for Phuket, Thailand, returned to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) here less than half an hour after take-off due to a technical snag. The aircraft was carrying more than 100 people, including passengers and the crew. The Boeing aircraft, operating as IX 110, had already experienced a 20-minute delay at the airport. GMR authorities told TOI that Air India arranged for an alternative flight for the passengers which reached Phuket at 11.45 am. 'Safety of flyers our top priority' Airport officials added that after take-off, the pilots noticed the technical issue at 6.49 am. "The crew elected to return out of an abundance of caution. An alternative aircraft was arranged, and the flight has since departed. We regret the inconvenience caused and reiterate that safety remains our top priority in every aspect of our operations," said an Air India Express spokesperson. A month ago, a Tirupati-bound flight from Hyderabad had faced a similar situation. On June 19, a SpiceJet aircraft carrying 80 passengers had returned 10 minutes after departure due to intermittent illumination of baggage door light.

The flight, 6E 6271, was meant to land at Goa's Manohar International Airport but was rerouted to Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) as a precaution. IndiGo said the aircraft landed safely and is undergoing maintenance. 'An alternative aircraft has been arranged for completing the journey. We regret the inconvenience caused to our customers. The flight landed safely at 21:52 hours. The full emergency status was withdrawn at 21:57 hours," the CSMIA Spokesperson said. "Passengers were safely deboarded and assisted by terminal staff. While the airline coordinates alternative onward travel for the passengers, CSMIA's Terminal Operations team remains on standby to provide all necessary support. Air India Express Hyderabad-Phuket flight returns to base soon after take-off

An Air India Express flight from Hyderabad to Phuket was diverted back to its base shortly after takeoff on Saturday morning. Flight IX 110 took off from Hyderabad Airport at 6:40 according to flight tracking service FlightRadar24, the aircraft turned around and returned to Hyderabad soon after take-off. The flight remained in the air for only 16 minutes before turning The reason for the diversion is not yet known. An official statement from Air India Express is a separate incident, earlier this week, an Air India Express flight bound for Dubai was grounded at Lucknow's Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport on Wednesday after the pilot refused to take off due to a technical issue detected during engine IX 193 was scheduled to depart from Hyderabad at 8:45 AM with 160 passengers and 8 crew members on board.
